Altimeter & VSI

Hi,

please take a look at this short recording from P3D v3.1. The Altimeter & VSI behavior; recording taken from P3D.

I don't have FS Recorder installed at the moment so I can only guess as to what you may be experiencing. Are the gauges that you are referencing needles moving up and down considerably during flight? If you are in the transonic region this behavior is intended (transonic in this being around M .94 to M 1.1 ish) and with the refuelling probe extended.

Hi,

this didn't occurred to me in v3.1 or in the former Sim versions. Anyway, The refuelling probe is completely retracted. This "pendulum" stops as soon as I decelerate. My average speed is about 5/600 knots at heights between 5 amd 9.000 ft.

As mentioned by Wingmate that is intended behavior and replicates real world stagnation/static pressure fluctuations in the transsonic range. Flying 500/600 Kts at 5000ft will get you in exactly that speedrange where you would experience Altitude/speed/VSI oscilations in the real AC.

Hi,

thanks for the explanation. Clearly, this is one of the features of a more realistic behavior claimed by Aerosoft developers. Fine.

Hi,

may I ask you if some sudden instability/incontrollability during the flight, in normal weather conditions are to be intended as part of the realism? Or do they have to do with some joystick issue? I'm currently using a Saitek X-36F, with the aileron axis control managed by FSUIPC.

try turning turbulence effects off.  under settings->weather turn the option "disable turbulence effect on  aircraft" on

I'll follow your suggestion. Of course, in case it's the culprit, I'll come back to realism paying the due attention.

   Thanks again,

Thanks, but no difference. I fear some issue with my Saitek X36F, even if this happen much more with the Tomcat (no problem, ie, with VRS F-18E, or much less with aother MilViz producs. Since there's a issue even with the Slew mode - any plane start like a rocket, I have to disconnect the joystick USB -, and since I looked at the calibration, finding some criticity -, possibly this will end witha new one (the TM Hotas Warthog).

Any other suggestion or idea will be very welcome.
