F-14x Extended Add on Menu

Featured Replies

While the aircraft installed flawlessly and flies even better, the one thing I have a problem with is that when pressing the "add on" tab on P3d menu bar, I see FSUIPC and the Aerosoft sub-tabs.  When I click on the aerosoft tab, nothing happens and no menu appears.  When I press FSUIPC, it works normally.  Did I do something wrong?

Sorry,  Windows 7pro 64bit, 32g ram, 980TI GC, P3D 3.2

Thanks

Firebird

Firebird,

I just tried a fresh install and was not able to verify an issue with the SimConnect menu in v3.2 (and I don't believe any of the other testers had an issue). I'd suggest wiping all traces of the F-14 by first doing an un-install and then deleting any remaining F-14 directories in SimObjects. Try reinstalling then and see if that clears up the issues.

Best,

John

John,

Thanks for the reply.  I actually went a step further as (due to the quick hotfix done by P3D) I had both versions listed (had client as latest, but scenery, content, and academic as the previous one) so I uninstalled P3D V3 completely and reinstalled from scratch.  I then reinstalled the F-14 and it worked perfectly.  I apologize for any inconvenience caused.  I now have an outstanding F-14 and a working menu..........Who could ask for more.   Thanks again for all the hard work.

I had the same issue after updating to P3D v3.2, using only the Client installer. No popup dialog menus, neither for F14X, GSX or OpusFSI.

Found this thread about it on avsim, that helped me out. Apparently, it is necessary to also run the Content installer, having first uninstalled the old version.

Since I am also using Orbx FTX the thread advised me to backup some folders in the process - otherwise I had to also reinstall that.

So, what I did was

1. backed up my \autogen and \effects folders

2. uninstalled Prepar3D v3 Content via control panel (v3.1.2.15831)

3. download the install_content.msi as well as the cont1.cab files from LM

4. ran the install_content.msi installer

5. restored my original \autogen and \effects folders

6. verified working menus! :)

Seemed to work. Only worry was, that the uninstalled Content package took up 11.6Gb, while the new one is just 5.6Gb.

Not sure what I lost there, but everything seems ok. Hope it helps.
