Connect Samsung Smart TV with VERY old Amplifier

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

today its the other way round. Im looking for your help! ;). I want to connect my Samsung Smart TV with a very old Telefunken RA200 (going to attach the pictures). The Speakers are connected to the Telefunken amplifier and the most relevant sound comes from the HDMI receiver being connected to the TV. Is there any "easy" solution? I have already found something like a digital/analog switcher, but im not sure if that is the right way to go. Maybe you can help me out here?

Thanks for your help!

Jonas :)

But this tv also has a Scart-connector. That's the one you should be using, along with this cable:

Just don't use the yellow tulip plug, but the red and white tulip plugs can be put straight into the amplifier. The Scart-plug can be switched between input and output, in this case it should be output since the signal is going out of the Scart and into the tulips.

Edit:

I just noticed the tv also has a headphone connector wich could be used instead. Then you need this cable:

https://www.kabelshop.nl/Valueline-Composiet-3x-Tulp-RCA-mannelijk-naar-JACK-3-5-mm-video-en-audiokabel-1-meter-VLVP22400B10-i2684-t358.html

Again, don't use the yellow tulip plug. The jack plug goes into the headphone connector in the tv, the red and white tulip plugs go into the amplifier.

The difference is that if you use the Scart-connector the tv will also use it's own internal speakers for sound. If you use the headphone plug the tv will mute it's own internal speakers and only use the "headphone" wich is connected to the amplifier.
