It´s very easy to add altitude callouts to fsx:

The "project magenta" team offers a free addon

called pmsounds on their site. this little, simple program adds

altitude callouts and much more to FSX, FS2004 etc...

Keep in mind that altitude call outs are standard in FSX when you fly an aircraft with jet engines

Is there a way to disable these for a particular aircraft? When flying the Coast Guard Sikorsky in FSX, you hear them all the time.

What Did I do wrong in FSX? I never could hear altitude callouts

in the 737 or 747!

There were just GPWS alerts like "don´t sink" , "pull up" etc.

Is there a way to enable/disable the callouts?

Open up the settingscontrolsbuttons menu in FSX. If you select 'systems' in the event category drop down you'll find an assignment called 'GPWS(Toggle)' just assign a key to this and you'll be able to silence the GPWS system at will.

No doubt there's a way to do the same thing in aircraft.cfg, but this fix works NOW. Thank you, Chaders.

think this will do it in the aircraft.cfg

[GPWS]

max_warning_height = 0

sink_rate_fpm = -9999

excessive_sink_rate_fpm = -9999

climbout_sink_rate_fpm = -9999

flap_and_gear_sink_rate_fpm= -9999
