  1. So having not used MSFS for months, I decided it was time to look at it again.  For some reason, it seemed to have vanished off the PC though and in short, I just decided to uninstall it, manually delete files and folders etc and go for a clean install from the disks to drive D, not the Windows drive.

Having got over the boredom of doing this, I got to the enter the product code message and was told it had already been used, which of course it had.  I've repeatedly tried to start from double clicking disk 1 and jut get to the message that says "Microsoft Flight Simulator Setup is preparing the InstalSheild Wizard, which will guide you through the rest of the setup process.  Please wait"

Shortly after this, Microsoft Store opens.

A long time later (and I've done this a few times now) nothing is happening.  The product is not listed in the MS store library (yes, I made sure I updated all store apps as well).  I've also seen the reply to someone else suggesting using the XBox app, but again, MSFS is not listed.

After all these years of using and developing for MS (like since FS4!), I feel embarrassed for asking for help, but would be very pleased to receive it from people out there that are far smarter than me.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Hello Paul,

Hm... my second nontopic comment here . . .

i count 3 Weeks from 17.January and if you look into the threads and in other forums you can see what i mean.

OK, I could read it that way as well and come up with 3 weeks too. Even so, for users to be upset about the lack of a release 3 weeks after a product is announced to be in beta, still seems unreasonable to me. However, Tizi's comment in the announcement post about "release should be next week" was probably not the best thing to post

  3. at mid-January the announcement, then at 8 February last pic´s before release and now, 3 weeks later, nothing to see here. That shows once again that aerosoft in marketing still needs to learn more. Maybe it´s better to say nothing and announce the release when I´m sure that it works! That also might prevent disappointment and permanent expectations ;) !

Not sure about how you count, but to me at least (on Feb 16th), we're only 8 days after the final pic's before release post was made..........i.e. 1 week not 3 weeks. And, since then, Aerosoft have more than once stated that there's a slight delay whilst testing the installer.

I really can't see how anyone could be disappointed

  4. I purchased this plane with a feeling that it was safe since it`s Aerosoft.

I waited this long to give Aerosoft the time to fix the typical release bugs. Too bad i`m not the guy who reads forums everyday.

Thanks to you guys for being so positive and friendly.

I just love the internet with all the nice people and nice attitudes.

    regards

    Bjørn Erik Henriksen

I don't think it would take more than a few minutes of reading to find out that this Aerosoft Airbus is not in the same league as the PMDG NGX, in either complexity, accuracy or price.........though there's probably a good argument to say it's as good in the visuals department. Also, a couple of minutes in the forum would have made you aware of the fact that a more complex version is on the way.

  5. +1

That't something I also do not understand. Today, the web with its forums ist the best place to gather informations about a product before buying it. And the pros and cons of the AirbusX and what is going on at the moment with the Airbus had been discussed here in depth. So there is absolutely no reason to complain except one's own stupidness not to check before buying.

To be fair, I didn't read Bjørn's post as a complaint, merely a first impression, so your reply could be read as a being a bit over the top. In fact given the few issues mentioned compared to what some have said, I read the post like a glowing review.

  6. That's great but you do realize every game made these days requires a digital signature to run. Are you saying companies are registering outside users consoles and then sending them betas? Why would you think FSX was the exception to the internal testing requirements? Were commercial developers required to finish all the missions?

Sorry, I don't understand your question or how it relates to the point you made about the MSFS beta testing.

  7. Mathijs: like I said.. all advanced copies. And if they did actually listen to you guys , how come FSX still has the obvious issues? Or is it possible they use people who don't know the difference since that is the intended audience.

Like Mathijs already said, MS used to fix some bugs and leave others. I've had the same experience with all beta versions from FS2000. At the end of the day, they're aming for a release schedule and accept that some bugs will remain, which of course is true of even Aerosoft products. You simply can't sit on a product until every single issue is resolved. As for the people they've used, you can be fairly sure that almost all commercial developers for FS have been active on the beta's.

  8. and then it will not land at a speed of more than 170. Thats not right.

Oh I think you'll find that's actually quite right. I'd have thought at that kind of speed it should be impossible to land as an A320 will typically land at 120 to 140 kts (depending on weight). As already mentioned in this thread, you need to look for the vref speed in the lower left of the perf page.

If you disenage the AP before 1,000ft and have the speed close to vref with gear and flaps down, the Airbus will be flying without any stick input required from you....just very small inputs to adjust as needed. Whatever you do, do not try and handfly the Airbus with continous stick pressure i.e. if you need to lift the nose a little to stay on the glideslope, just give the stick a small nudge backwards and release it and repeat as needed.

  9. You, like I, need to get a hold of Paul Goldings specs, as if like me, you go through all of this forum, you will find that Paul Golding never has a single problem with anything....a bit of a David Watts of the skies!Where everyone else is a "poor and simple lad"

    A useful contribution indeed

  10. I got burned from Flight1 when I purchased the boxed version of their F-Lite version of the A 320. Basically it was an Project Airbus plane with decent repaints but Project Airbus anyway. They stated it was developed by them but if you compare the flight instrument displays to Project Airbus panels they are identical. The software was a waste of $20.00. There are better freeware aircraft out there.

So, problem number one is that you seem to be talking rubbish.............Flight 1 are not the publisher (or re-seller) of the F-lite Airbus, so this kind of makes you look somewhat silly.

My major concern is that the fmc doesn't pickup the localizer so I can land the airplane. I see that others in the forum also have this same issue. Is Aerosoft going address this issue soon? I hope so.

............and problem two is that you haven't explained what your problem is, when it happens, where etc, etc. And that's without me having to say the Airbus doesn't have an FMC and even if it did, what would it be doing picking an up a localizer in the first place.

Take a deep breath and then go read the manual, after maybe saying sorry for badmouthing Flight 1!

  11. Correct, it was there prior to 1.22, just not as noticeable. I have to remember to hold the stick centered when passing through the 100 foot threshold. Otherwise, the plane will violently bank. This is difficult in windy conditions.

I'm not sure why you would be seeing this, but Shaun's advice is good. Assuming you're talking about a manual landing, I find that almost no input is needed for the last 500ft if you're configured right with the correct speed etc. You should pass 100ft with zero stick input being applied.

If you can reproduce this problem with the FSX weather settings, please post the details of the settings you've used (exact weather/wind/aircraft load and airport etc) so others can give it a try.
