  1. You should be able to hear the sound from the propellers going into reverse and also be able to see Torque increasing slightly.

If You have hardware throttle(s) which aren´t assigne with an reverse range (FSUIPC) it is very important to bring the throttles fully back.

To be sure that they are in idel position press F1.

This is also often the reason why auto deployment of spoilers doesn´t work for alot of people on airliners.

  2. The area actually covers 961-996°C and marks "Military power" range, meaning that engines shouldn´t be operated there for more than 30 minutes.

It is not so that the engines will fail exactly after 30 minutes in that range, but engine lifespan is comprimised.

  3. Is the Bronco available for FS9? I have spent so much time and money getting FS9 just right, that doing the same for FSX will end in an ugly divorce, and will result in frozen hot dogs for dinner. I would gladly buy the Bronco immediately, as it is one of my favorite aircraft of all time.

    Sorry....

An aircraft as detailed as the Bronco can not be done for FS9.

  4. Sounds in FSX can be hard to get right.

Often sound recordings made from the real aircraft sounds different once played in FSX.

On the bronco it is even harder since the sounds are controlled by the internal FSX engine parameters, but FSX knows nothing about the T-76 (TPE331) engines of the Bronco, which is a geared turboprop. FSX only knows about free turbine turboprops, like the P&W PT-6.

So honestly the engine sounds of our Bronco is somewhat off compared to the real thing - somthing very hard to fix.

  5. Here is a Hotfix for the Bronco X (Version 1.11)

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9351728/Aerosoft%20Bronco%20X%20Hotfix%20111.zip

Download and unzip into Your main FSX folder - You should be asked if You want to overwrite - answer YES to all.

    Fixes:

-Low FPS when changing views - fixed

    -Engine sound issue - fixed

-Gunsight power logic -> powered by Monitored DC bus, only available with at least one generator active or Groundpower connected

-2D pop ups default to 16:9 format (Inorder to change to 4:3 -> delete panel.cfg and rename Panel_4_3.cfg to panel.cfg in all 8 Bronco folders)

    Best regards

  6. a system specific issue? i don't notice the sound imbalance with tir when changing viewing direction.

Not entirely a system specific issue...

The problem is that the entry Rotation= 1, -1 porkes up the FSX sound system. For some of us (myself included) it´s barely audible, but if You listen very closly as You pan back and forth looking at each engine from the VC, You will find that there is no soundcone for the right engine - thus it also sounds a tad more silent than the left engine.

It seems though that this sound issue is exaggerated on some systems and for some even silnces the right engine entirely.

What I found through searching the internet, is that the function "Rotation, x, x" was inroduced to FS whith Combat flight simulator ( i did not notice which version). It also worked on FS9 (FS2004), but seems to have become flawed with FSX.

Some has reported that the engine set to -1 will have a wrong calculation of it´s RPM, thus the propeller becomes jerky, this would also afect the sound.

But on the Bronco we have done our own Propeller RPM code, thus You won´t see any difference, but the sound is still driven by the internal FSX RPM.

The above is only my personal theory, but by removing the Rotation entry from the Aircraft.cfg seems to fix the sound.

The entry was made as one of the last things before release, therfore it seems to have slipped past quality control ;)

In the intial 1.00 version we did not have the entry.

For correctness I need approval by John, our Flight model developer, that removing the line again is Ok.

  7. Note !!!

The quick fix is to open the Aircraft.cfg and find this entry under the [Propeller] section:

    Rotation= 1, -1

Putting: // infront of it to read:

    //Rotation= 1, -1

    Then save the Aircraft.cfg

This must be done for all 8 Bronco folders.

Note! it is Your own responsibilty that You do it correct !!

Expect an update next comming days, which also (hopefully) should fix the low FPS issue when changing views.

  8. I´m getting the same sound for the gear up/down and for the flaps. Is this correct? Exactly the same sound.

The plane activated properly with ASC.DLL registered ok. In fact, looking in my fsx.cfg i have two instances of Bronco ASC.DLL now:

XXX:\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft OV-10B\panel\ASC.DLL. (This one appears to be activated with ver. 1.0)

XXX:\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft OV-10A - LONG RANGE FERRY\panel\ASC.DLL (This one appears to be activated with ver. 1.1)

    Is this correct?

Yes each version requires it´s own asc.dll entry.

    And yes...

Both flaps and gear are operated by hydraulic power.

The sound when operating them stems from the electrical hydraulic pump.

  9. Well..

Here is a "Public beta" test:

    http://dl.dropbox.co...351728/Sound.7z

Download and unzip the sounds (7zip unpacker required - link: http://www.7-zip.org ) and then overwrite those found in:

    ..\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft OV-10B\Sound\

Note that the sounds really should be the same as those found in the 1.10 installer, but who knows if they have been corrupted for some reason.

Paul G has told that the sounds from beta version 1.03 works, but release version 1.10 not, though nothing has changed on the sounds between those two versions.

At least worth a try ..

    Finn

  10. The same sounds are used for both engines.

How are You speaker settings set ?

    7.1 - 5.1 - headphones ?

    Try those different settings.

Do You use a dedicated soundcard or onboard sound ?

While it could be Your sound drivers, I rather doubt so.

If this was an general issue, I would expect both the beta testers as well as other customers to have reported something similar.

  11. Hmmm

It was actually Ddeuce who told us that using the red gunsight would be Ok.

It has never been a secret that the observer station wouldn´t be modelled - so it should not come as an surprice.

    I´m not sure about:

. not a great performance improvement: Training bird 50%fuel, best climb rate w/out loss of momentum 1450fpm........ rated @2300fpm..

As told elsewhere we have used data from NASA and got the final flighmodel approved by the pilot from the German Bronco demo team - maybe performance was different.

But I´m still happy that he grades it 3.25, as long as it isn´t 3.25 out of 10.00 :)

  12. Thanks indeed for the nice update and the additional versions. Question is however, does the long range version with the three external tanks actually has a longer range (and by how much) or are those tanks just cosmetic? Do those external loads increase drag and fuel consumption?

Please open the Fuel & Weight config inside FSX (FSX' own) and You will see all internal + all external tanks listed i the fuel section as well as the weight of the tanks themself in the weight section..

So - yes expect a much heavier Bronco with those 3 tanks fitted, which offcourse also will make fuel consuption higher per nautical mile.

  13. Finn,

I hope you can upgrade them to the A++ level and kick that thing out the door sometime soon. I guess it doesn't really matter that much, most of us will be in Laos, Cambodia and other exotic places with leaves in our teeth.

    A question for you.

Will we have to read the new manual before we fly the new 'full version' of the BroncoX or can we just buckle up, turn and burn (up the engines)? How about a sneak preview of the new manual or checklists for night time reading tonight.? Oh boy, new toy, tommorrow.

    Ray

It´s very much like when You buy a new microwave owen...

Better read the manual before use - otherwise You popcorn might get un-eatable.

Well the Bronco is rather sturdy, so wrecking it takes a good deal of careless treatment - but it might bite You in the end.

Note that the newly added accumulaitve wear feature needs to be set before use - it comes disabled by default.

  14. Sounds like it is only a couple of six packs away. Pssstt. aahhhh.

Now I guess Finn will go back to clean up the last few items on that AirbusX v2. Both out the same month, you're spoiling us.

    Ray

    I better keep my firewatch.

BTW: I´m not doing the code for the Airbus V2, thats handled by some C++ guys - So I have stepped back as a kind of advisor or towholder on that project.

  15. Can you implement the XY channel switch on the TACAN in some future patch. You need to be able to set the Y channels to get the xxx.x5 channels commonly used in Europe on the TACAN receiver like Leipzig 115.85mHz ch 105Y.

    Thanks,

    Dave

Problem is that the TACAN reciever in the Bronco doesn´t have the Y - band.
