It is not a maybe, to do a fresh install is mandatory. Otherwise you will soon or later run into trouble.

    OK,

    wish me luck...

And I assume I need to Uninstall the existing version before I move the CD license ( game license)? ( its hardware/machine code related?)

I would seriously suggest doing a fresh windows installation. Moving files manually id bound to cause problems.

Thanks Mathijs, I was afraid of that answer, its a massive work to do that....almost impossible to cover with all additional software of vatsim, FSLTL, Simbrief, etc etc. But need to give it a try I guess, not to talk about the content in the Community folder of today

  3. I wonder how I in best possible way migrate my very comprehensive MSFS 2020 installation based on Aerosoft boxed version to a new computer, the existing is from 2020 and starts to become to "old" i.e. for instance the HD is 1000 GB but I have now just 50 GB left as free space, also the graphic card needs to be updated from 2060 to 3080 perhaps and the power in the old computer isnt enough for that.

What is the best proceedure to move all  installations, folders and settings to have a running performance in the new environment as the disc is inserted ?

Akki, TBH, I do not understand what you expect/want.

What you see are the boxed FSX products you have registered in the Update Database. This got nothing to do with MSFS. And the products you see can not be updated to MSFS.

My original question was: how can I turn it OFF so they do not show up on this My page under Updates? Yes I know it is FSX stuff (which I also wrote above...)

I go to this Aerosoft page to see if there are any MSFS/Aerosoft updates available...

  5. Hi,

checking the Update home page from you I  have discovered that my old FSX downloads are there for an update, its the Gardemoen Airport ENGM and the CRJ900 for FSX. What is the best way to disable this as I today only use the boxed version of MSFS from Aerosoft and for instance the CRJ version from you?

I can only speak for myself and Sascha (Managing Director)

I came into Aerosoft in 1991 as one of the companions founding Aerosoft.

Bernward Suermann, the main founder, was a classmate of myself.

In 1995 I moved into the management and in 2000 we decided to stop professional development because it was wasting a lot of money every year.

After that decision Bernward founded a new company for professional training software based on the Aerosoft department and I was the only managing director left at Aerosoft.

I am not a pilot and I was not a flight sim enthusiast. I have studied business and worked in the banking area and in marketing & pr before.

Sascha came into Aerosoft in 1996 as an apprentice. After that he was responsible for the Aerosoft logistics and the warehouse for a few years. In 2003 his responsibility was increased to purchase and later he became director purchase & sales at Aerosoft. Since 2011 he is managing director of Aerosoft. He was and is interested in all kind of computer gaming.

I hope this answers your question.

For hundred thousands of people worldwide, perhaps for millions, flight simulation is more than a game, itis their hobby.

This means that there is a strong interest in keeping this kind of 'games' alive.

So, I am positive to the future.

While Microsoft has shown no interest in the FS community for the last 10-15 years, I believe that the developers of newer flight simulators, like X-Plane, Aerofly, ... will keep their ears much closer on the needs of the community.

I prefer to work with small companies like Aerosoft instead of multinational corporations like Microsoft.

I see FSX and X-Plane for a number of years side on side in flight simulation, but on the long term a new simulator will move into the steps of MSFS.

I don't see the end of our hobby in the near future.

Well, today I think we could say that you are wrong, Microsoft has announced that they will take up MSF again with all efforts needed to continue the excellent work from 1983 and forward to 2007..

My advice is that you let Microsoft invite you for cooperation because this is where the future with FS is, I am glad that I sticked to FSX and Aerosoft for so many years and not having jumped over to Xplane or P3D.

  7. Hi,

very pleased with all Aerosoft sceneries but when it comes to EDDS I have discovered some problem along the taxiway to runway 25, some trees and strange marks on the ground. What can be the reason?

I have ploaded a photo from this position.

  8. Dear Shaun, dear Steve,

    now it works!

Thanks to your advise Shaun on the possibly error and Steve´s faboulus direct help with both the FSX and Scenery config file is now finally the scenery working.GREAT THANKS!

We revised the FSX file as it had two graphic adapters (as I had changed graphic card to GTX 460 recently) on my Dell Studio XPS 8000. Steve modified the Scenery config file to me and I reinstalled version 1.04 fresh.

I don´t know more what to say.Take care

  9. Hello again Shaun,

yes, I am right now being helped to check both FSX.cfg and Scenery.cfg to see that there are no doubble entries. Apparently has Stephen Cook (above) found several items that are wrong after that I sent him copies of these two files and has advised me to make a clean installation of EDDF after cleaning the scnery config file. I am also advised to send these two files to venetubo.com for optimization.

I will be back when I have tried these proposals. Thanks in the meantime for your kind support.

  10. Hello Akki,

Please check the scenery library and make sure that you dont have any duplicate entries for the scenery as 2 entries can cause this type of issue.

If you have duplicate entries then delete the duplicates till it leaves you with only one.

I have uninstalled the scenery and checked the HD that nothing remained. Downloaded the 1.04 version from Aerosoft and installed it clean. Checked setting in scenery and graphics. Problem remain, see attached file. I have even checked different settings in Scenery library, unchecking Landclass etc, even unchecked FS World 2008 but it do not help. In AFX I have two AFCAD files, Stock APX50140.bgl and AF2_EDDF_without_ static_aircraft.bgl, the latter highlighted. No improvement if I rename the stock version. Have restared FSX after each change just to be sure. I have saved the scenery and FSX start from the saved scenery, do it have any impact? Any final tip before I give up?

  11. Hello Akki,

This is whats mentioned on the Product page, "Terminal D removed and new terminal C/D with A380 gates and connection building to terminal 1"

Sorry Shaun, I am not fully understanding what you mean with "Product page" and also not how I shall interpretate your statement: "Terminal D removed and new terminal C/D with A380 gates and connection building to terminal 1 - does it mean that my installation is correct i.e. there are only gateways and the rest is flat ground....if I look at the pictures there should be a D terminal. Is there an update version available? Or is it just my scenery settings that is wrong? I have Frankfurt now as no 1 in the scenery folder, but do I have to follow the settings of resolution etc in the manual paga by page? I have also Stuttgart, Nice, Arlanda FSX from Aerosoft and they work fine.

OK, I found the product page now and the text you refer to, however questions above remain. Is there or is there not buildings behind gate D1 - D5?
