Think you are a tad low there Emlios. But I love the details. Superb.
Well I wouldn't bet on my piloting skills, but I did notice too much red coming from the end of the runway

yup 09 is very rarely used... due to a crash in circa 2000. I've never landed on it, took off a couple of times from it though. The takeoff is spectacular, its very steep and you have to do a very steep right bank right over the docks... driving to the airport one night I seen the lights of a 737 takeoff, and they were literally... almost to the extent where the bank angle alarm would be going off...

Mostly smaller props will use this approach, and from there you can enjoy this view thoroughly
It is also often used in south-east windy days.More to come soon

I have never seen the parking area that empty in reality
But it's a must have for me anyway. Excellent work! Well, as said it still is 'in progress' so you can expect the area to get busier. But as Rafal correctly mentioned you don't really have performance problems in reality..
Hi,
I 'm from Crete (Chania) but I have visited Heraklion airport many times. It is an excellent job so far. I only have one (minor) issue.
There is an aircraft standing at the east of the cars parking. It is at the gate of 126CW of Hellenic Air Force.
This aircraft is actually a retired F-5A of HAF. As I saw in one screenshot that the aircraft you designed is a combination of F-5A (tail) and an F-16 (body).
I mention it just in case you would like to fix it although this is minor.

Indeed an F5 is standing there in Heraklion. We did have some problems however acquiring good reference material. So the choice was to either have a very nice model or a bad (but correct) one. We' ve chosen the first, but it is still possible that we will replace it down the line.
BTW, since you mentioned the 126CW gate, this is now in place too

Thanks. I m not a big fan of extended previews at an early stage, at least not until what is shown is at the level I want it to be. It also takes away some of the surprise. Even in our already published screens, there are many stuff that are not shown
More extended views will come while the project advances, not too far from now.
Emil... you can see on youtube videos there is a small island in the water around 3/4 of a mile out, will this be included?

Hi Emilios, may I suggest to unveil Dia? I say unveil because ACES covered its mesh with water ...
I think it is quite a nice landmark and should be part of your scenery.
That's a good suggestion indeed.
This depends on the satellite coverage we can get our hands on, and currently this region is not included. In case things change I will post an update.

How is Heraklion progressing?
A really busy airport in the hottest part of Greece, with long history and a strong military component. Surely these take some time to faithfully reproduce
Nevertheless, progress is really good at the moment with a lot of detail going in.

This is perhaps one of the few examples of good 'advertisement' that Greece has received lately.
Regardless of what the situation might be, Greek airports just can't lose their appeal. They will remain a hot destination, both in reality and in flight simulation

For my side looking at the quality definitely I will not waste my money for any other scenery & am sure no one will be disappointed.
Oh yes, not thinking one second about this other scenery, the screenshots say all about it. Very sad, this happened again. I hope this won't hurt your fantastic product too much!

Still a shame, the same airport being developed twice. A waste of valuable development capacity. I think if Aerosoft would have known about this other scenery being developed before they started, they would have chosen another airport. Now the project is so far into development that there's no way back, the waste would be too big to throw everything away that has already been done.
Had no idea about this, it's true, but in all honesty this would not change our plans at all. I do not see how, or why, we would drop this.
Besides, LGIR is the 2nd busiest in Greece, and certainly nice to see it being as popular in FS

superb news!!! Just me being nosey here, when you say on-site did you actually travel to LGIR? I am really looking forward to this scenery flew many times there out of Glasgow and in my favourite aircraft, 757
Looking forward to shuttling many virtual tourists to Heraklion this summer!!
If you want to make an airport replica there is no better, and enjoyable, way to get accurate detailed material than to actually go there.
In this case however, we have excellent local support with special access to this airport

Good question. Not certain yet, but the FS9 version will most probably come after FSX.
Will know more as we get closer to release.
