    Definitely. Even though he said it, I still will not be surprised if they hit a development snag or two along the way when Beta heats up. Either way, you know it will be great, and well worth the wait.

If you are using autoland, and using autothrottle the entire time, in other words not disconnecting your autothrottle arm OR moving the thrust lever from the climb detent, then it should stabilize itself well before 1000' (305m). 160-175 is completely fine, as long as you add your flap settings on time, and in order to reach 1000' above ground level fully stabilized. If you are at this point at 2800' AGL at 160-175 kts you should have more than enough time to accomplish that. Even if it is MSL and around 1600' AGL at that point you should still be okay. Aircraft in FSX, and some in the RW, hunt the glideslope a little. FSX especially, unless you can time it right, will do this noticably. You may see a drastic descent upon intercepting the glideslpe, with the airspeed not bleeding off, but eventually the aircraft will stabilize (just think about experience with any of the default aircraft like the default B737 or A321). Now, if you are manually taking control at that 400' "pull up", and actually commanding a "pull up", then you will disconnect the autopilot, and you will nose down briefly, which is a known issue with this aircraft. It is perfectly managable though, you just have to be prepared for it. Finally, if you are straight up tuned to a valid ILS frequency, have CAT III showing in the PFD, autopilot APP on, autothrottle on, throttle lever still in the Climb detent, stabilized with full flaps BEFORE around 1000' AGL, not touching a thing, and have this happen, then it might be a different issue. Take this all into consideration and shoot another 2 or 3 ILS approaches into different airports, making sure at least one is a default FSX airport and not an addon payware or freeware airport, and see what happens. If you have the same issue during each I would definitely say you have something different going on. Hope this helps.

    and by the way, they said during the Aerosoft conference they are aiming for a 2012 release, earliest speculation I've seen is September, but generally everyone is feeling November. Either way, it will be released when it is ready.

  10. Hey Rudyjo, the download version will give you the product fully up to date, with all updates already applied. When Marcel gets done with the 1.4 upgrade, you will be able to access the update from your account once you are registered. If you are using the English page, it's here: http://aerosoft-shop.com/support.php?language=en The manuals come with the download product in .pdf format, and you could print them if you wish. Definitely read through them all, you will need to. And finally, this product is worth every penny and more, just be sure to read the manuals thouroughly and search the support forums if you run into any trouble. It has been out for a while now so pretty much any question you might have is surely in here somewhere.

  12. Hey, I can only help you to an extent. Sorry no one else has gotten back to you. As it is the weekend, I'm not surprised. At idle mine is at 23%, and I've never seen 19.5. That will only effect taxi at a very low weight, like after landing with just about your minimum fuel. As for not being able to surpass 45% N1, I would make a good guess that it is a hardware/FSUIPC issue. Do not hold me to this, but you might need to get a registration for FSUIPC, setup and route your hardware through that, to make it work. As I neither have a registered FSUIPC or the hardware you are using, I cannot say that for sure, so don't take it to heart. FSX crashing happens, for me it happens every time on exit (which isn't really an issue for me), and I know several others have had this issue. If it is happening during flight, that is another problem, and I would search the Airbus X forums here for similar issues and possibly solutions. Just type "CTD" or "Crash" into the search and that should yeild you enough to keep you busy, and hopefully find you the right answer. I'm sure someone will come along soon though that has a more in depth knowledge about your hardware to help you further, so stick with it.
  13. If you are using AES while this is happening, window FS and open AES and go to "Set Aircraft Parameters" and click "Repair for Push". You'll also sometimes find it is an issue with a particular scenery. Hope this helps.

Hey Jerry, there is actually a dedicated forum for the Airbus X here: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/forum/320-airbus-x/ I figured I would let you know before the hounds get out, so I would post this same question there on the proper forum. Also, you will want to include your OS, FSX version (Sp1 or 2, Acceleration, etc), as well as any hardware you use like joystick, throttles and what-not, and if you have FSUIPC registered or unregistered. Copy and paste what you wrote here into the proper forum I linked for you, and include that information and I'm sure you'll get some help.
  15. In addition to what James said, did you have your anti-virus software turned off during the installation? This actually matters with this product, I had McAfee when I installed the Seahawk a few years ago, and had similar issues. That, in addition disabling UAC and running the installation and program as the administrator as James said might do the trick, it did for me. If it comes to it, just uninstall and reinstall doing these things throughout the installation. Another option is trying to save the new file in a new folder on your desktop, naming it, filling out the required Nav info, then copying it to the .../Scenery folder.

  17. Well, I will give you my two cents worth. When I fly the X and switch from A/P this is what I do: I will have the a/c fully established- APP and A/T on, tracking both the localizer and the g/s, with everything stabilized (flaps full, speed ref +5) then I will manually turn the autothrottle off, ensuring I maintain the same power setting with my throttle. Then, there are two options you can do. The one I have found as the more stable with the X (yet very abnormal), is to pull full back on your yoke or joystick briefly, just to automatically disengage the autopilot, but, then you will have the infamous nose dive, so you hold about 5 degrees worth of nose up immediately and let the FBW stabilize with about 4-7 degrees pitch up. In other words, right after the autopilot automatically disengages hold nose up on your yoke/joystick enough to register a nose up command, until it stabalizes. The second option is to manually switch off the A/P 1, but, you will have to be ready for the switch. The only reason I suggest the first way is because you are already commanding a pitch up attitude whereas trying to hit the A/P and rushing to perform the needed commanding motion. The BIG things about this are as follows: -FBW does not do well with full commands- you need to lightly and incrementally command what you want from the a/c -The FBW in the X is not all that evil, as some here have said it is- it is completely managable with practice, what you should always think is small corrections -There is never any need to disable the FBW, just practice with it, and try, if you want, what I described, it works beautifully if you get the timing just right, but it takes practice -Autoland is always an option on an ILS (don't worry, you're not alone, I always like to take over before mins, if not just for the currency and something to do, in sim and irl lol) Hope this helps in any way. Give it a shot a few times, if anything.

  20. Love all the suggestions, thanks guys! Northern Europe and Spain are definitely underrepresented in my sim, so I think I will start there with those. Two others that caught my eye while checking out the Spanish, Nordic, and Krakow sceneries are Friedrichshafen and Bornholm. Anyone for a thumbs up on either of those?

So I've got a few extra dollars to play around with, and want to expand on my European destinations....running FSX, frames are no large issue, and looking for something I can pull anything from the Katana 4X to an MD-80 or the Airbus X into. Mainly something that is for the best of both worlds, VFR, IFR, and GA and carrier ops (and if there's a helipad it will make it the best of three worlds ). What I have so far: Andras Innsbruck Corfu Gibraltar Monaco Nice Cote d' Azur The scenery selection from Aerosoft has just been skyrocketing and I am lost as to where to go next, I feel like every time I check to see what's going on a new scenery rolls in, so if anyone has any suggestions that stand out and fit the bill it would be much appreciated if you point me in the right direction! Thanks!
  23. The A320 in real life and in the sim has no fuel dump option. A good case to recall a need to dump fuel without the ability in an A320 was with Jetblue 292 a few years back. Their nose gear wouldn't retract after takeoff and they had to hold for 2 hours to burn fuel to attempt their landing.
  24. Also, by "1/2", do you mean you physically, looking up at the throttles, see them half way between their range? Because that is how it is supposed to be, the beta range and idle stop are about halfway when you are looking at it....move it forward you will increase fuel flow to the engines and move forward, and move them to the back half and reverse thrust will start. Now, if you are saying "1/2" as in you get about 25-30" MP with a bunch of RPM while your controller is at idle, then you have an issue, probably with your joystick settings. As for startup, some thrust will be produced on startup as the engine and propellers spool up, adjust, and idle, which on land would be countered with brakes. With floats, you have no brakes, and you can move a little bit on startup, and you have to prepare for that. If it just keeps going, and your speed increases while your joystick throttle is at idle, then I'd say you need to recalibrate the joystick.
  25. I've seen the same thing, and I believe it is tied to altitude AGL, not MSL, that it transfers over to a mach hold or 300KIAS. This is just what I've seen, though I would need a confirmation for it from the developer. EDIT: I mean "tied to" as in how the developer made the autopilot make the changeover at AGL instead of MSL.
