Hi,
didn't know which topic to post this under but i have a problem
On taxiing the twotter tends to yaw hard left or right at around 10kts, at takeoff i have to apply a lot of rudder to keep it straight, and while landing as soon as i touch down i just swerve because of the same yawing thing,
it's become difficult to taxi due to this
Anyone else having this issue? thought it was torque but since it's going in the left and right direction I don't believe it isThe Twin Otter is due to it's design quite susceptible to crosswinds when taxiing, take-off and roll-out after landing. Can you check the wind direction next time? You can see that on the GPS as well in the right bottom corner.
But with rudder pedals it's easier to counter.

Once I come out of climb and start cruising I make a point of resting my feet to the sides of my pedals and lo and behold, no more hydraulic cycling!
If you look at this picture and look closely, you can see where you have to put your foot in reality!
Did you find the footprint?

I tried to upload here but zip file too big, had to upload to avsim.net and flighsim.com. It may not show up today, takes a day or so to be processed. If you would like a copy sooner shoot me your email address.
Hi Rob,
The maximum upload size is now increased, so you can try again if you wish.
We like to have all Twin Otter repaints here in the forums, so you would do us a favour!

Why am I not seeing any replies to my post? If you cannot answer me, you have just lost a customer.
Dear Aerosoft customer,
Although I am not part of the management nor of the staff of Aerosoft I take the liberty to reply to you since you seem to be in haste, having waited for a full day already for an answer.
You have posted your question in the 'management section' of the Aerosoft support site. Since Prepar3D is not an Aerosoft product, nor distributed by Aerosoft, I suggest that you consult Lockheed Martin about your concerns.
As for the lag in replies here, I need to point out that yesterday and this weekend the management of Aerosoft is off to Lelystad (NL) to attend the FS Weekend (http://fsweekend.com/).
I assume that you will get an official reply after the weekend.

Can I get some help locating the paint kit for the Twin Otter Extended 1.05? I just purchased the plane last week via the Aerosoft store. The download files are there for the plane itself but I dont see any downloads for the paint kit itself.
Hi Drew,
Welcome to the forum, and I hope that you enjoy the Twin Otter.
Regarding the paint kits, there are numerous threads about it in this forum.
Look here for example:

Sorry my english is bad i need the paint kit for the DHC-6
No problem, I understand you now.
The paint kit is installed in the following folder on your computer (in the folder where you installed FSX):
\FSX\aerosoft\Twin Otter Extended\PaintKit

Good afternoon sincerely, barely spoke English, I would like to know where I can download the dot for DHC 6 Twin Otter
Hi,
I am not sure what you mean by 'dot'. What are you looking for?

Guys, please read these simple guide lines before uploading you repaint:

Thanks!

I'd like to kwow how to sincronize FSCommander 9 and FSX with FSUIPC ( in two different PC's )
PD: I have the freeware version of FSUIPC
Hi Semo,
This is a support question (and not about Aerosoft management).
Please ask this in the appropriate tools-and-missions forum:
http://forum.aerosof...s-and-missions/
There is also the dedicated FS Commander forum:

Thank you, Winfried.

I see FSX and X-Plane for a number of years side on side in flight simulation, but on the long term a new simulator will move into the steps of MSFS.
Thank you for your explanation.
You do not mention LM Prepar3d. You do release installers for P3D with some of your new products however. What is your view on the future of P3D and the role of Aerosoft in that?

The FSMap databases are located under "C:\Users\[userName]\AppData\Local\FSMap". The ones for FSX are named *2006*.dat. But I think that the gauge might fall back to the FS2004 mode as it doesn't "know" P3D. You might try to duplicate those 2006 files and replace 2006 with 2004.
I followed your advice, and it works!
I can now use FSMap with P3D, using the FSX database.
Of course I will need to copy the database again when I need to rebuild it, and paste the gauge manually in the panel.cfg of a plane, but that is very simple to do.
Thank you very much for the fast help!

I haven't tried the gauge in P3D. But I guess it should treat P3D as FSX and thus load the FSX NV DB if available.
That is what I expected as well. But it did not. Where is the FSX NAV DB located, and what is the file name?
On my system FSMap, FSX and P3D are installed on three different drives (D, E and F). Could this be an issue?

Thomas,
Thank you for your quick reply.
I installed the gauge manually (I just copied the aircraft's panel.cfg from FSX), and that works indeed.
Can you tell me how the gauge connects to the NAV DB, is programmed in the FSMapDevice.gau or can I edit some other file? I expected it to find the existing FSX NAV DB it builds.

I tried FSMap with P3D 1.4.
On my system FSMap is installed 'normally' for FSX.
The program connects immediately (and with no changes made) to P3D and shows all aircraft data and position, and AI. Very good.
The gauge also seems to work correctly, only the database (airports, navaids) seems to be missing (or is not connected to).
I am not sure where to look to solve this. Or is FSMap gauge just incompatible in this respect?

Will it have realistic sound effects? The sound of the flaps are very important, otherwise I will not buy it!!!

Now I don't know what's worse! Eric for coming up with the idea in the first place [...]
Hey! Your gratitude seems very short lived!

At least google now give a result when you search for "Aerosoft" + "pantyhose"
I checked this, and yes, you are correct.
I think the site will get lots of new hits.

Your welcome, D'André!
Nice blog post (thanks for the credits), and I like the teaser picture

Hi Mathijs,
I have seen a few rumours on the internet that you and Robert are leaving Aerosoft. Can you please comment on these rumours?
