100% agree. I was so looking forward to this A330 but now, I have zero plans to purchase it. Excited the 777 is coming up and Fenix will have 321 out soon too. That's all I need. Sorry Aerosoft, you missed the goal on this one.

Ya that Fenix A321, too! We may even see a PMDG Max 8 before the AS A333!

    How's that 330 going for ya? ;)

Lol Probably about as good as it's going for you! I pretty much left these forums when Mathjis left AS.

That and the freeware 787s like the Kuro and Horizon have been very good for long hauls. So basically I do not care when and if this will be released. Lots of wide bodies coming out, especially the PMDG 777.

This Forum has gotten a bit Toxic lately. If People don't sharpen up they could introduce restrictions soon.

    Patience.

Well, there are a lot of new members to the community that lack etiquette and are disrespectful to others, warranted or not. They feel entitled. This is one reason why I rarely post although a member for years. All forums are getting toxic. Just look at the PMDG forums.

Everyone should spend more time Flight Simming rather than post non relevant comments and arguments. That's the best way to tune out the noise.

We know it's a sim issue that needs to be sorted with a hotfix from Microsoft.  All aircraft with displays have this issue, as far as we know. We can't do anything about it.

Thank you, @Mathijs Kok These are the only two airliners (PMDG 737/8/9 and CRJ7/9) I currently fly. With the CRJ being a "hands on" aircraft, it was taught me a lot about systems and hand flying without VNAV. Makes the 737 feel easy to fly. :)

  5. I jumped back into the CRJ only to discover many issues that have been reported on the PMDG B737. In particular, the white box around the PFD and MFDs and issues with lining up the mouse cursor to use the mouse wheel to adjust settings in the 3D cockpit. At times I try to scroll with the wheel and then the screens zoom in or out.  A little annoying but flyable.

  6. For me I will get the A333 when it's released. I am going to fly the F@*k out of it and learn all the systems, procedures and quirks, then move on to the PMDG B77W. Yes, it would be nice to have a different Airbus type; one that is not already available in some form. Like others, I was hoping for a A321 or A21N, but that has not been announced yet. So although I was hoping for those, I'll be busy flying the wide bodies of AS and PMDG. And maybe FSS will get the E-Jet sorted out soon.

My point being that too many simmers get all the different types of aircraft and never really learn the systems and procedures. They just want something different to "sit" in and look at, screen shots and such. Some have never used a checklist, let alone see one. Rather than switch aircraft on the fly, so to speak, take the time to really learn one aircraft.

The AS CRJ being the "first" HD airliner, I took the time to really study and learn the systems. I watched the videos from the Dude and others. I did a lot of pattern work and short flights. I learned why the aircraft stop climbing because I lost that kinetic energy. I learned that "Speed" mode was just to keep a constant speed by controlling the pitch. I learned to monitor my IAS as there was no A/T.  It is very hands-on.  I enjoyed hand flying it, but my landings were still a little sketchy with my Alpha Yoke. It wasn't until I added the TM Boeing Yoke that flying the CRJ became a real joy to fly. It was a game changer. After the B738 came out, I nearly shelved the CRJ and FBW. Coming up on 200 hrs TT on the 737, 100 in the CRJ series and 200 in the FBW A20N.

Yes, a lot of simmers are disappointed in the Neo announcement and I am one of them, but there are so many other aircraft at our disposal to learn and enjoy. The end-users, community and market will work itself out. It always does. If our needs are not met, we go in a different direction, different developer, or different platform. Money always drives it. If AS's decision is not a good one, they will see it in their bottom line. :)

I feel you. Many "very serious" Simmers in the flight sim game cannot accept that there is a whole new customer base since MSFS was released. But as always. Great disruption will push the whole community forward as computing power increases and the market is getting bigger so more developers are coming into the branch. Looking forward to what will be the state of MSFS in 5 years or so - and I did start my flight sim "career" with FS98 -. What a time to be a flight simmer.

You're wrong, there.  Many so-called "very serious" simmers can care less about what platform you choose to fly MSFS in. They are more concerned with what they can achieve and high levels of immersion. Most of which is not achievable in XBox. We want to be able to import and integrate flight plans of Simbrief and to fully utilize Navigraph. Most love to fly real world routes including the actual zulu time it was flown. Most love to fly with Vatsim ATC with their friends and others in different parts of the world, with a lot of those pilots flying for virtual airlines or something similar. Conversely, some guys I know look down upon the XBoxers as ones who just love to fly in 3rd person and just take pictures of the nice scenery and terrain. Again, to each their own.  That goes for the XPlane guys as well. The majority of us do not care either way. We just want to have fun and fly High Fidelity Aircraft. If that cannot be provided, then the market will dictate it.  It always does. This community welcomes new comers on the new platforms. And for the record, I started my flight simming on an Apple IIe. I'm also a real world instrument rated pilot.

I see this as well from time to time.

I just go into the Fix page and set a radius 3X that of my altitude (which is the rule of thumb according to real world CRJ pilots).  I then do a second with 3X 10,000 feet.

The idea is, if you're flying at F280, multiply 28 X 3 = 84. This will draw a radius 84NM from the Airport, which is when you would need to start your descent. The second, 10 X 3 = 30 is the 30 mile radius where you should be at at least 10,000 feet or below.

I do these for every flight and the ring usually lines right up with the TOD (when / if it appears).

I hope that helps as a work around.

I do this on all aircraft after I reach Cruise altitude. :)

Hawaiian flies the A330-200 and not the -300. That said, as someone from Hawaii, I'd love to see Hawaiian Airlines included right away even if it is fictional!

So, the -300 will be released first. I was under the impression the -200 was going to be the first release. I guess I'll pay better attention.

You won't want to hear this, however, this does not appear to be happening to a majority of people.  No one I fly with has had any issues with SU9 and the CRJ.  Now, this is not a bad thing for you.  It means that things are fundamentally ok.  I would start with a clean community folder.  Then add the CRJ back in with zero liveries, zero other addons like scenery.  See if the situation is different.  If so, you will need to do detective work to see which addon you have is incompatible with SU9.

Thanks, bro! I have been messing around with it and decided to delete the Rolling Cache again and leave it off this time. I also went back to the mouse settings in windows and changed the size down one level. Going to try it again. I did a flight after leaving off the Rolling Cache, but forgot to tune in the ILS in to KLAS. It tried to Auto Tune. Freq was in, but nothing on the FMS and no active captures on the MFD. I reloaded and did a pattern in the circuit but this time manually entering the ILS freq and it did fine that time. It's just frustrating to have weeks of good flying only to be interrupted by a "sim update" that does not always improve the sim.

  11. Definitely an Updated needed after the latest MSFS sim update. 1.25.7.0 has not been very nice for me and the CRJ. Made a flight today that resulted in a CTD. KPHX to KLAS on the ZEPER2 SID, climbing to FL260 before RRSTA. Prior to that around 3000 I decided to test out A/P with 9000 set. I experienced a -3000 fpm dive and cancelled the A/P asap. Continued the climb. Was stable at 250kts and engaged A/P again. Increased power, selected SPEED and shortly after received a CTD. Lol Frustrated I just closed everything and restarted my PC. And now I'm on the forums searching for answers.  Bummer because before the recent MSFS sim update I was having so much fun in the CRJ-900 with TM yoke, and Bravo throttle quadrant. The TM yoke makes all the difference with how smooth and responsive it is. I hope that all this gets resolved soon.

  12. Hey Guys,

I bought the whole TM Boeing Yoke pack a few months ago in anticipation for the PMDG B737. It's been boxed up during that time and I decided to set up the yoke to fly the CRJ.

OMG what an amazing difference between flying with the TM versus the Honeycomb Alpha! I just got the CRJ-900/1000 and it is amazingly smooth! I love hand flying even more now.

Manually flying the ILS is a breeze with the TM yoke and Bravo throttle.  It brings out more enjoyment now and in the last few days I've flown over 14 routes and plenty of pattern work!

Anyway, just wanted to share that with you guys if you are considering the TM versus the Alpha.  Don't get me wrong, I love the Alpha for GA flying, but that pendulum effect of the TM with the additional spring is right on.
