Startup tutorial
Sorry to double post but I need to let you know the status of the video. As I mentioned in my last post, I have already capped the video and just need to edit it. However, that is going to take me a lot longer than I thought. This past Friday 2/11/11 my wife and I brought home a beautiful baby boy. We decided to adopt about a year ago and we got a call last Wednesday that we were chosen for a 2 month old and we had him home on Friday already. As you can imaging, life has changed for us both a lot, but we wouldn't trade it for the world. My time on the computer is very very limited at this point and it will stay that way for a while. I promise to get this video done as soon as I possibly can, but I have no ETA at this time. I hope you all understand and I will let you know when it's posted. Regards, Chad

Startup tutorial
Yeah, I'm more than happy to do it. I just went out and bought myself a headset with a mic to record audio explaining while I'm going. I've had a lot of stuff to do this past week and will have even more work ahead of me this coming week. However, I will try to complete and upload the video in a few days.

Troubles on departure
okay, I was able to depart fairly smooth yesterday. The Vr rotation is still a little slopy, but I can't do much hand flying due to what I believe is issues with the flight model. Before I arm AP, I push in the ALT knob for managed mode and then it seems to climb pretty well without much rapid pitch issues. It starts the turn to the course and everything is fine...this is until landing. I don't think there is anything I or anyone can do until Aerosoft fix several issues. The first is disengaging the AP. Even on final it pitches up rapidly and if you're not carefull it will stall because of the slower speeds. The second issue is again the flight model...it's very hard to control the plane without AP on. I am begging Aerosoft to fix these issues. I love the plane otherwise and it would be my favorite in the virtual hanger, but with these serious issues, I can't say that it is. Until the issues are fixed, I think I am going to uninstall and wait for a patch/update to see if the problems are solved. Also, why is the fuel flow so messed up? On the ground at idle, I'm burning over 1000 kgs/hour. That number is way off. On top of that, at altitude, it shows it's burning like 1600-1700 kgs/hour and that number is off a lot too. In fact, at CLB throttle at lower altitudes, the plane shows I am burning less than I am at cruise. She sure is a great looking model, but I think you guys released it too fast and need to fix several issues. I'm not upset and I still support Aerosoft because I know you'll fix the items that need to be fixed.

Troubles on departure
Not good at all, AP has to be turned off at some point on final and at the lower speeds a rapid pitch up at a high AoA could induce a stall. I sure hope they intend on fixing this on the next patch along with flight dynamic issues.

Troubles on departure
I've read what others have said about Airbus X being hard to fly manually. I have found it to be the same for me. However, it is better with small and slow changes. I need to get out of the Boeing mindset. I don't know if there is an issue with the flight model or if this is really how a Bus handles, but the default A321 handles muchbetter than Airbus X IMO. Anyway, I always have trouble on departure. I am following the step by step guide and I still don't have any luck, so I figured I'd give the board a try. Once I hit Vr, I slowly rotate to 12°-15° and once positive rate of climb is established, I raise the gear and disarm the spoilers. The flaps are retracted at the proper speeds and I put the throttle to the CL detent. By the time I do this, I'm ready to arm the AP. My first initial altitude is set and I have the proper dashes/balls per the guide in the FCU. However, once I activate the AP the plane rapidly goes from a climb attitude to a small descent attitude and turns to a heading of 360 even though I don't have a heading specified and it's all dashes. So, In short how to I properly have the plane continue to climb and stay on the current heading until I manually change it to the heading ATC provides? I know I can push in the ALT button in that is used to set the altitude for managed mode, but the guide says to do that at a later time after selecting the cruise altitude. I know if using ATC, you put in the altitude they provide. Regardless of using ATC or not, I don't understand why the plane pitches down once AP is selected since I have a higher altitude set in the FCU...shouldn't it lower the nose a little to reach the 250 KIAS speed but still continue to climb? Edit: Also, whenever I disable the AP in flight, the plane pitches up rapidly...shouldn't there be no change as the AP set the trim? If I disable it in level cruise flight and the AP set the trim, shouldn't the plane stay in level flight if the AP is disconnected because it's trimmed for level flight?

Update 1.22 now available in the FAQ/Updates section
I'm sorry to be a pain, but the installer isn't there. The only thing I can think of is that I am in the wrong area. I logged into my account under the support database and then I selected AirbusX from the product list. Once the page opens, I only have the options below: Additional Checklist 1.20 Pain Kit 1.00 Smartphone Checklist 1.20 Dutch Manuals 1.00 German Step by Step guide Russian Manuals 1.20 Update 1.20 to 1.21 Update 1.22

Update 1.22 now available in the FAQ/Updates section
I seem to be having a little trouble. I purchased Airbus X the day it came out and thus I have version 1.11. I decided to update my system to Windows 7 from Windows XP. I had to format my PC in order to upgrade to Windows 7. Now that I have installed FSX again, I am slowy adding back my aircraft and scenery. I downloaded version 1.21 and 1.22 updates for Airbus X, but there is no update 1.20 available to download and the 1.21 update won't install over v1.11 because it needs 1.20. So to eliminate my troubles, I would like to download the full 1.22 installer. Can someone please tell me where to download the full 1.22 installer as mentioned above? Many thanks. Chad

Aerosoft A-321/320 project liveries
^ That release date is the estimated release of the boxed version of the bus, the download will be out sooner as long as they can fix this autoland issue. I hate to say it, but I thought to myself Monday when the announcement came about it not being released until Tuesday that something again would happen and it wouldn't get released on Tuesday and I was right. On top of that, the forums went down all day and we were left in the dark until late in the day when they said it would be released in the morning. From here on out, I will take even a firm release date with a grain of salt. I understand that issues come up, and I'm not blaming Aerosoft in any way, but what I don't understand is that they said before they issued an RC and then they annouced the release. If a release is announced after a sucessful RC, why continue to test it just prior to release? That seems a little odd to me; almost like the RC wasn't fully tested before they made the release annoucement. We are all very frustrated that the bus was promised for two days in a row and no download is available after those two days. I doubt it will be up today either and it looks like it's on "pause" which to me means indefinitely. I'm sure Mathijs is also very frustrated and the whole team. While I like the idea of Aerosoft keeping us informed, showing us pictures etc, I think this frustration wouldn't happen if they don't give firm release dates. Perhaps say that an expected release is in quarter _____ of year ____. then just update us as things progress, but don't give out any actual dates. I sure hope they have everyone working to fix and upload the bus (like they pulled all the bus staff for other projects) so it's out ASAP.

Aerosoft Airbus X - Preview
We need to give Mathijs and team a break. It's very evident that they are working hard on this project. The fact is that when a product is in beta, unexpected things come up that require attention. There is no developer on the planet that gets something 100% right the first time around. I have no doubts that Aerosoft will bring us the best bus simulation there is for FSX and I'm sure it will be here in a relativly short time. Maybe by the end of May, maybe not; but one thing is for sure...It will be released when the team is 100% satisfied with the product they will deliver to us and I wouldn't have it any other way. Reason being is that Aerosoft is one of the very few developers I can trust with my money and I know that whatever I purchase from them, it will be a damn good product.

While I'm not a rep for Aerosoft, I do remember reading in this thread that you'll be able to start the engines manually (Which will require little work) or using Ctrl+E. As for the rest of the questions, Mathijs is the one to answer.

Aerosoft Airbus X - Preview
That has got to be the most realistic looking model I've seen in FS to date. I could swear it was a real A320. Awesome job! Very excited for release.
