  1. Unsure about the correct place for this suggestion, but here goes.

have you ever thought of taking the bus mechanic simulator (really nice sim, only lacking the economics part of it) and creating an aircraft mechanic simulator, namely with piston models?

    It could be awesome!

Anyway, also using the opportunity to thank Aerosoft for reliable quality on sim products for many years. I’m quite a fan (and client)!

  2. +5 :excellenttext_s:

By the way I take the chance to congratulate Aerosft's management for contributing so much to our community, by giving us superior quality addons, at competitive prices.

Truly, everytime you release something new, I feel I have to buy it, even if it's in the other side of the world!

    Congratulations and keep on going!

  3. I agree it will be very difficult to make all online at the same time, but we can fly using vatsim or the andras server and with teamspeak tuned on the andras channel. That way we can talk to whoever is also flying along.

Sumarizing, everyone should fly online, but with no fixed timings.

  4. Hello Ole,

I think that Andreas Ave in Andras Field could lead to some irritations. I prefer "Welge Avenue". As I taxied last weekend with my new PA46T Malibu to RWY26 to fly some circuits, a voice in my head that sounded like a navigation system said "in 100 yards turn right into Welge Avenue". And I thought to myself in a proud way: sounds realy cool!

    And cool it is!

    Ole,

Can I claim anotehr Aerosoft prize for wining phase 5?

    cheers,

    g.

  5. The aerosoft servers were down, and as I posted here, I was unable to log on to VAE or to make a new registration on time since it needs to be accepted.

By the time someone created a session, I had moved on with my life and sadly. At least with me and Toby we would have been 4.

    No need for sulking...

  6. Hi guys,

Here go my 3 favourite approaches during this Phase 5.

The first one represents what I call champagne flying: nicely settled on a VFR short final to Nice airport.

    phase51.jpg

This second one is was my favourite approach. A beautiful dusk arrival into Verona on the DC-3. Isn't it wonderful?

    phase53.jpg

Finally, an extremely difficult approach into Venice. I confess I overshot the minima ... The DC3 is really difficult for IFR flying!

  7. Here it goes, the final solitary flight of our journey!

Naturally, out of the many ordeals undergone through the extraordinary days rounding the world, I would qualify this last leg certainly on the top 3, and maybe even the most challenging.

After departing Wien in winds of 22G30, i had planned a Z flightplan (VFR-IFR) direct to the RASTA intersection where I should arrive on marginal VFR @ FL150 and switch to IFR into LOWI.

The thing is, long before that, I was already totally envelopped by clouds. Thad wouldn't have been a problem on itself since that altitude would keep me safe from the mountains in the Arlberg, but those clouds, they were really nasty buggers, full of cold moist and ice. As a result, my Baron 58 started accumulating too much of it to the point it would stop flying and its protection mechanisms were not enough.

I had to descend and ask for rerouting.

At about FL100 things improved a lot, so I got cleared to proceed direct to Salzburg, from where I could avoid the most mountainous areas and fly at 9.500ft direct to the IAF at Rattenburg. From there, you know the drill, offset ILS to decision height which for me on this flight was 850AGL because I needed to be able to turn off the ILS and switch FSFS to approach mode before the 500ft. Otherwise the scoring would have been even more miserable...

The near zero visibility gave away at 1.000ft, from where I could see the approach lights, and managed to land sucessfully, but of course with 35kts gusts and one that had to come right on the flare to get me a "balooning" penalty...

    Well whatever.

Anyway, it was a nice (part) finale to this adventure.

Congratulations to all of those who made it back home! What a feat! :clapping_s::hi_s:
