  1. As I am the person who made that repaint , I would like you to explain to me exactly what you mean by " Aerosoft's standard " , ( as if that is a bad thing ) . I have absolutely nothing to do with Aerosoft but apparantly just waste my time making repaints ( not for your discerning tastes , luckily ) .

You and anyone else who frequent these forums are free to make your own version but I have yet to see any of YOUR repaints .

If there are issues with a repaint then give us an insight into your expertise on what is " wrong " . Constantly asking for a " clean " and " dirty " version for every paint is about your limit so far .

  2. After having a harddisk crash , I'm having to re-install all add ons . Repaints were on another disk , so are safe , just haven't got around to installing the Airbus yet . When I have I willupload the newer version .

This also applies to FSX Addict's Spirit Airlines A321 , as this was a Beta paint and some things were changed before release , so will not show up correctly in the sim .

Just be patient , should be uploaded witin a week .

  3. The reason that S5-AAA was painted with a black roof is because it was acquired from Afriqiyah Airways and wasn't repainted . Photo's on the internet dated 2010 ( when the paint was made ) still show this arcraft as I painted it . This made my repainted different from any other A320's from their fleet that would be made at a later date .

  4. Wasn't able to check back earler due to the revamp of the site .

Would like to point out that even with " other " producers , most paints are not made by the company thenselves , but by volunteers like us . The only difference is that they are then bundled with the release of the product and are mentioned in the credits . Aerosoft wanted to do the same but was held back for legal reasons .

They did want to bundle our paints and release in global regions , with an installer ( to ensure that the liveries would be placed in the correct folder ) . However 1 day after the release of the Airbus X , people were asking why no repaints were available , so first JanKees and then myself decided to upload all our paints to the Aerosoft site . This turned out to be a lenghy process as we had to produce a readme file , screenshot and repaint folder for each aircraft ( at the time around 35 aircraft each ) , whereas Aerosoft had offered to do this for us .Also we couldn't test our paints in the final product as we did not have it .

As for America being " forgotten " that isn't completely true , okay there are not many American airlines that operate the A321( and as far as I knew at the time , US Airways and Spirit had been made ) , but I at least made Northwest ( Old and New colours ) , Delta and USA 3000 for the A320

Since the release a couple of the other Beta painters have released some , or all of their work , but people here should realise that we did this all in our spare time , without payment and because we made painting our hobby , we were not competing with each other , just that some had more " free " time than others .

For anyone who has the time , you can read some of the reactions that were made during the painting process .

  5. I have tried several times to contact FSX Addict ( who painted the Spirit A321 ) as I downloaded his Beta version . As it is not my work I cannot upload it without his permission .If and when he says it is okay I can upload it , not before .

As for there not being enough repaints available , that is utter rubbish . When released JanKees and myself had 70+ paints uploaded to the server between us . Unfortunately some of the reactions that were posted at the time made us decide enough was enough and have returned to painting other aircraft . Before release the Beta painters had produced nearly every airline flying the A321 and most flying the A320 , seeing the reactions posted here at Aerosoft could be the reason that other Beta painters have not released their paints .Now and again ( when I feel like it ) I will upload other paints , but will not preview or mention what I am working on as this only leads to people asking when it is ready or ask for screenshots . Up untill now I myself have uploaded 40 paints with a few thousand downloads ( Delta seems to be a favourite with more than 1100 downloads ) .

There is only a select few who constantly request paints for their " favourite " airlines , so maybe they should try painting instead of expecting Holgi to fulfill their needs .

  6. I cannot speak for the other painters here but in all the 40 + paints that I made ( and available here ) , I always include a readme file that has all instructions to install into the sim .. Just placing the textures into the ( CORRECT ) aircraft folder is not enough , you also have to alter the aircraft.cfg .

    John

  7. @ Holgi ,

No reason to be angry at all , AVSIM and Flightsim are full of " multiple paints " of nearly every airline in the world .

My comment was originally made because you stated the the CSA paint was delayed .

I haven't started any fantasy ( not in real life ) paints but a CSA A321 in the " new colours " should be on the cards when CSA get around to painting a few .

BTW don't forget the registration on the right upperwing !! Not many airlines have them but these do !

  8. When I and other Beta painters were preparing our paints for uploading , this was mentioned in the Preview section of the forum . Aerosoft were going to release regional packs for uploading with a self installer ( which would have made our work much easier ) .

Unfortunately when the Airbus X was released , comments were made about having to wait for paints ( after 1 day ) .as people needed these liveries so that they could fly tourists home and other excuses , so it was apparent that they were not prepared to wait . JanKees and myself decided to upload our paints ( at that time about 70 ) by hand and without an installer , so that meant that you ( the customer ) would have to install the liveries using CUT & PASTE for the aircraft.cfg entries and ofcourse ensuring you place the texture map in the correct Airbus folder . Another issue was that we couldn't check our paints in the final version as we were still working with an early Beta version , so we had no idea if any problems existed , one main difference being thye layout of the aircraft.cfg , but this does not affect the textures ( unless you put it in the wrong map , meaning an A320 paint in an A321 map and viceversa ) .

At the moment , most airlines have been covered for most corners of the globe , so the solution to your question is to download and install from Aerosoft or other sites ( most of the paints at OzX were made by JanKees and are already available here at Aerosoft - with one or two exceptions ) .

As for any paints that were not released , maybe sending a Personal Message to the respective painter will result in those paints being uploaded ( or not ) . To find those painters will mean reading the liveries topic elsewhere in the Airbus X topic thread .

    John

EDIT : Livery thread is here - http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showtopic=31387

  9. I don; t want to hijack Holgi's topic , but I never found any phopto's of an A321 in CSA's new colour scheme during the Beta painting phase , so I just checked on Airliners.net ( 948 photo's of all their Airbusses ) and Jetphotos.net ( 348 of the A321 ) and they all ( still ) seem to fly in the old colour scheme . Maybe when they are due an overhaul they might visit the paintshop as well .

As for cancelling your paintjob Holgi , I only posted my reply because in your signature , you state that the paint was " delayed " .

  10. Hi can someone more reliable do an US Airways A321 (CFM preferably).

    Thanks,

    Nolan

....Someone more reliable... ( as if that is being polite ) .

You seem to forget we do not work for Aerosoft Andi and myself worked on the Beta paints for the Airbus and all in our spare time . We did not work to any deadline and you should have realised that delays are always possible in the flightsim world ( for whatever the reason is ) .

Enough has been said in the past about the realease date for the Airbus and since it's release , there have been nothing but complaints , but nobody wanted to wait an extra month or so before releasing .

Just be happy that someone decided to paint the aircraft in the first place and it's finished when it's finished . It really is as simple as that .

Try looking in the download section as it seems that Andi has uploaded your favourite airline after all .

  11. Wat was the fault exactly ?

With me when FS X crashed the reason given was ntdll.dll . This has been mentioned before on the forum but I can tell you it has nothing to do with the Northwest textures ..

You don;t mention which operating system you are using .

My system is Dual boot using Windows XP ( SP3 ) and Vista and the crashes were occuring in both systems but for different reasons .

On XP I stopped DEP from working with Internet Explorer and on Vista I was using IE9 ( beta ) which I have now uninstalled .

For the complete solution for XP , I suggest you Google for FSX ntdll.dll and look for a mention of AVSIM .

As for Vista I decided to uninstall IE9 as it was not working correctly and this appeared tofix the " problem " . Apparently another solution ( which I haven't tried yet ) with Vista is to run FS X under XP ( compatability ) .

  12. As promised , a few screens of an A321 as flown by All Nippon Airways ( no longer in service ) , apparently only A320's now . No need to mention that this is a " Work in Progress " of course .

Will be uploaded along with the A320 soon .
