  1. Hi,

I'm sure this has been asked before but. My PC has expired in a pawl of smoke after only 18 months of use and as such I have got a new machine on order. As part of my plan to restore my FSX to its former glory I'd like to use AES again. Is there anyway to use my credits that I've purchased again or have I lost them for ever.

    All the best

    David

  2. Shaun,

Fixed!!!! It was the Orbx texture system thats was interfering with Nice during the install process. I've set the textures to default and the airfield has installed properly. Looks very nice and I'm getting 32 FPS with the PMDG NGX. Thanks for your swift reply yesterday.

    All the best

  3. Hi Shaun,

Just checked the scenery library, no duplicate Nice's and one aerosoft Nice in the Library second priority below the AES base pack. However in the aerosoft launcher it says activation state undeteremined could that be the problem???

  4. Hi,

After installing Nice x into FSX I get all the photo realistic textures plus the AES lite traffic running fine. However I seem to have the default FSX nice airport placed on top if it. I also have no custom buildings. I'm running FSX and have no other addons in the Nice area. Any ideas what might be the problem.

PS I am installing with admin rights etc

  5. Mathijs,

Have just done the following test. Take-off from Cape Town intl FACT (stock scenery and textures no add ons). Fly south over the sea. At about 15 minutes after selecting strobes on they stop flashing twice and only flash once. After another 10 to 15 minutes they stop flashing all together. At a later stage in the flight the start flashing again. If there's any other information I can supply let me know.

PS I have the landing light and the strobes selected on together

  6. Mathijs,

I haven't noticed a decrease in frame rate. But I will have a look again when I use the simulator next. If it makes any difference I have been flying the G reg aircraft and the N reg aircraft.

    Thanks again

    David

PS I have had another look. There is maybe a very small increase in frame rates when the strobes stop working. I was flying the aircraft in the circuit at Orbx Concrete Muni in PNW. However the strobe problem is not limited to just this scenery.

  7. Mathijs,

Toggling the switch on and off has no effect on the strobes they remain off. However at a later point in the flight they come back to life on their own. I have also noticed when I first switch the strobes on they flash twice. At a later point in the flight they only flash once and then they stop flashing all together. I'm willing to admit it could be a problem with my pc but all the other aerosoft add ons I have work fine.

    Many thanks

  8. Marcel,

Just to let you know I have flown the Katana a few times now and this is still happening. It may just be my system but I was wondering if you had seen it happen too. It takes about 30 minutes of flight and then the strobes give up even though they are switched on and the CB is in.

  9. Wow, What a features list. The only problem with having all these great VFR aircraft, The Katana, The Discus, The Huey etc is you have to have decent scenery to fly them over. I can see the credit cards taking another pounding!!!! Looking forward to the release of the Dimona.

  10. Marcel,

It's happened twice now. I'm running FSX Acceleration SP2 with 2 x Nvidia GTX 420 graphics cards and an I7 920 processor if that helps. I'll fly it a little bit more to see if it happens again. Could it be certain lighting effects combined with the strobes?

    David

  11. Hi,

I've noticed after about 20 minutes flying my strobes stop flashing. I've tried cycling the CB and the Switch to no avail. Then as if by magic they start flashing again after about another 15 to 20 minutes. This happens regardless of weather I'm using the stock FSX of Katana light effects. Is this an intentional feature???

  12. Hello,

With regard to radio problem. I am running FSX in a standard config with no third party air traffic addons although I am using edit voice pack. I have the following problem.

With the aircraft and avionics in "realistic mode", I can tune any frequency in the frequency window and hit the flip flop switch to make it the active frequency. With certain airfields I can talk to the FSX air traffic using the menu once I have manually tuned the radio frequency. When I tune certain radio frequencies for example 130.42(5) although I have the correct frequency tuned the FSX air traffic system does not allow me to transmit. Its almost like I have the incorrect frequency tuned.

When I use the radios in simple mode I have no problems.

I was wondering if this is an FSX limitation with the realism settings or is this a minor glitch which may or may not be able to be fixed.

    Many thanks

    David

Ps I have just tuned 130.42(5) at Halton (EGWN) in the Katana and switched aircraft to the default cessna. The Cessna shows a frequency of 130.43 tuned. Could this possibly be a graphical error????
