  1. Thanks, Dan, got it! And er... I see where I went wrong before... I thought the file was a ready to use aircraft profile and so I put it in the Aircraft folder... After putting it in the AircraftTypes folder I could create a new aircraft in PFPX using this data. Got it now, thanks! EDIT Using Dan's file I created my SAS OY-KBT aircraft. A few settings had to be changed (considerably). I just finished a short flight with it and times plus FOB were pretty spot on (deviations from the plan were at most 35 seconds and 100 kg FOB, which I think is pretty good). Here are my altered settings for who is interested:
  2. I had seen that file already but it's a text file and PFPX won't see or load it... It's been reported as broken but I gave it a try anyway: no luck.
  3. Anyone here who knows where to get PFPX profiles for the Airbus A319 IAE? I want to fly with the SAS livery and need a profile for that. (I am surprised how hard it is to get a hold on profiles for PFPX!)
  4. Thanks for the info, Mas! I think I might switch to the SAS A319 then, even if it won't be used for domestic flights in real life: it will at least feel a bit better then the British livery I am using right now. I already found a good looking livery made by John Glanville. http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/89435-100-accurate-sas/
  5. I only fly the Airbus 318 and I only fly in Norway. Anyone knows which available livery can actually be seen in Norway...? The only Scandinavian liveries I could find are fictional Wider√łe ones. I'd love to get a livery that you can really see in the sky over there... but I suppose there aren't any, at least not ones that do domestic flights in Norway. If so, are there any companies that do fly with the Airbus 318 to various Norwegian airports?
  6. Carb left is alright. The first version of the Katana had the Carb label right in English cockpit by mistake, but the carb is on the left.
  7. I am also amazed why Aerosoft doesn't seem to care... I don't understand why this forum isn't moderated at ALL. Very strange. I wouldn't let my customers be treated as they are on this forum. It might be a reason not to buy anything anymore from Aerosoft.
  8. I also have a lot of other addons (GA and airliners, a.o. the 737NGX), but I only have this one installed... It's perfect for my kind of flying. Low and slow, no AP (which I had to get used to but it's sooooooooo much nicer to do the flying on your own!), great view on the outside world. Awesome plane. The best EVER imho.
  9. Ok, clear, thanks! I ususally leave my plane exactly as it shows up when I click on parked... so it's just as if every switch and whatnot IS saved after all.
  10. Glad you're back again! So if I understand it well, there is no 'option to recall all the previous settings' as Snave put it? So things like amount of fuel and oil and dirt are saved but not the state in which you left the plane when it comes to engines on or off, etc,? I thought that was (or coulde be) the case too. But if that's not the case, it's not a problem because I click the parked state now everytime. No problem at all, of course, but I just thought the Katana had an option to recall the state.
  11. Ok, I understand. However I don't have any problems with that same GNS in other (default planes). It's only in the katana that I can't turn the messages off. Anyway, I solved that problem by editing the xml of that gauge and now messages are off by default. The problem with direct tuning is still there but I sort of solved that by using only direct mode now...
  12. Afaik what you want isn't realistic... How it is now is how it is in real life (even the INSTANT stop op the propeller when you turn the engines off). And since the Katana is all about realism, I dont think your request will be honoured in a next patch. This isn't a problem, really, and only pronlems need patching.
  13. Well, it can be done because I've done it, but I removed the AP pretty soon because it takes the fun away imho... I looked in my archives if I could find how I did it (it was a popup only AP) but I apparently disliked it so much that I even deleted all information on how I did it... Sorry! What you could try is edit the aircraft.cfg and turn on the AP: autopilot_available=1 and then you should be able to at least use the AP using the keyboard shortcuts for it... I think. If you want the popup, you have to dig into a panel.cfg of another plane and look for some usefull AP entries... EDIT Snave was a few seconds earlier with the same advice, I see... EDIT 2 And of course Snave was right: a simple search and here you are: http://forum.aerosof...dding-autopilot However, I think Snave gives good advice in that topic:
  14. And Avsim also solved my problem with the MSG blinking. Great! So forget about my problems: they are solved.
  15. LOL Snave, you are one of a kind. Pity you are ignoring me, because I'd like to say I kinda like your straighforward way of dealing with things. However, obviously, you are a bit mistaken here. But hey, even the best make mistakes. The fact that my post on Avsim resulted in a reply within 11 minutes that in the end led me to the solution for one of my problems, proves to me I did the right thing. I don't really understand how you can call that duff advice... So far Aerosft hasn't answered my questions at all: well, I rather have duff advice that helps then no help at all. I am grateful for YOUR help however, I really am, even though it didn't immediately result in solutions this time. I could say more (and I would like to know more about why you react this way), but since you aren't listening, I think I will leave it at this. It's a shame, it really is.
  16. Because I didn't get answers to my questions on this forum, I also posted them at Avsim, where I also sort of made clear the support over here isn't the 24/7 support Aerosoft's advertises. I wasn't talking about Snave's posts, obviously, because he was trying to be helpful, but I was talking about Aerosoft. I mainly mentioned that to prevent people from simply saying that I should ask all that here, because I already did, but also mentioned it because I was getting a bit annoyed that no one from Aerosoft reacts to my questions, while this IS the official support forum! They say on their support site that this forum is the quickest way to get help... Anyway, Snave took that a bit personal, which is a real shame because I have to admit I sort of like his way of doing what he does and my remarks weren't meant for him: he tried to help after all. I don't know what his problem with Avsim is. And btw those aren't 'new friends' because that account was registered in 2006 and I have over 2000 posts there. Funny thing however is that within no time I was helped over there to find an answer to one of my problems... Within 11 minutes I was given some advice that helped me out in the end (concerning the problems with weights). So I am glad I went to Avsim for advice.
  17. Ok, I have found a solution for the weight reset problem. The current settings of the Katana are saved in C:\Users\<NAME>\AppData\Roaming\4X_DATA\Diamond DA20-100 'Katana' in a file called data.cfg. PAYLOAD STATION WEIGHT1 is the current weight but my Katana constantly overwrites this with the default weight. Luckily the default weight is also in that cfg! Look for these entries: PAYLOAD_STATION_WEIGHT1_MEMORY=70.000000 PAYLOAD_STATION_WEIGHT2_MEMORY=70.000000 PAYLOAD_STATION_WEIGHT3_MEMORY=0.000000 (The numbers are mine btw: these are the ones I want). Now whenever I load the Katana and it resets the weights, it resets them to these. BTW The ONLY way to get the Katana into a parked state is to select Parked from the menu you see at startup. Every other way simply doesn't work.
  18. I noticed the manual that comes with version 1.03a has some changes and additions, so I wanted to print it all. Now I noticed that in the Introduction pdf some pages are (sort of) missing and some pages are a bit empty... - The manual starts with 1.2. Where is 1.1...? - 1.3 Installation is empty part from '1.3 Installation' - (Small error: there are two 1.4.3 chapters) - (Small error: there are two 1.5.2 chapters) - Where is 1.6.1...? The page where 1.6 starts is empty apart from the '1.6 Preflight' - Where is 1.7.1...? The page where 1.7 starts is empty apart from the '1.7 Maintainance' I don't suppose I will get an answer to my questions, just as I don't get answers to my other posts (hint hint...!), but well... you never know...
  19. I still would like to hear from Marcel if I can carve the default weight of both the pilot and passenger in stone somewhere... Having to click some thirty times to get the weights right for every flight is becoming very boring... I am sure those default numbers are stored somewhere! Please tell me where so I can change them to my liking. Never mind, thanks to someone on Avsim I found the answer: he told me to look at the datacfg in there I found the options for weights I was looking for. For future reference I posted the solution here: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php/topic/49858-pilot-and-passenger-weight/page__view__findpost__p__337221
  20. Thx for the heads up! it won't add much, I guess, but it's nice to have that magazine back...
  21. Well, not here... I set the flight up as I wanted it, with everything cold and dark and parked, the while lot, set the load status to Automatic and saved that flight as default. I restarted FSX and sure enough the Katana was my default plane. I loaded the flight... and ended up in taxi mode or pre-engine start, even after pressing None. This happens when I load the flight somewhere on a runway, but even when I leave it where it is in default flight, which is on a parking spot... What's worse... I then set the Parked status on the settings menu, where the Katana should be forced to be parked... but even then the plane shows up with the engines running and the lights on!!! And to top it all the weight of the passenger (which IS loaded) is reset to default...! There must be a problem somewhere with admin rights or files being locked or whatever... I know I can simply press Parked when the plane loads, but the manual says the plane will have to be checked because it has been parked for a while, which makes me think things might have changed since my last flight. The odd thing is that some thing ARE saved, like the amount of fuel... I don't get it at all. As I said I can simply press one of the states in the menu, but I want the plane to keep MY state: that's the whole idea and fun of it all!!!
  22. O yes, I am. It just doesn't work. But more things don't work as advertised, see my weight topic where I will post something in a minute...
  23. BTW I sort of solved my problem with that unwanted direct tuning by simply enabling direct tuning right after startup... This way I don't have to click twice everytime to make the standby frequency the enabled frequency. How simple is that. I am still thinking to get the RXP 540 to get rid of that blinking MSG all the freakin' time (it IS highly annoying) but it's a bit too pricey for that..
  24. Hm, I understood automatic means that the software will look at where you are (on the runway or on a parking spot or in the air) and then load the state that fits the situation... I can understand that if you save a flight in mid air this will result in the plane not being parked, but when I leave the plane parked and then later on start a new flight on the runway (forced, because there is no other option), the engines will be running because the automatic option thinks that's the most logical option... Anyway, I will do as you said: I will set the setting to Automatic (although... isn't that the default...?) and press None when the menu pops up after loading. I will let you know how it goes. And since I am completely back at the Katana again, I will also create a new default flight with the Katana parked: I suppose that will help too. Up to now I never got into the Katana as I left it: or the weight of the passenger was reset, or the fuel was on, etc. etc. I do have admin rights and UAC is off, FSX is excluded, etc. Hm... TrackIr, EZdok and ASE aren't excluded... Maybe I'll have to add those too...
