Even if they are at a specific waypoint a controller will tell you either a time or a distance to keep your legs, even in the real world. All you would essentially have to do is just time it/monitor the distance from the waypoint as you do your laps in the hold. Also, I do know that it is a "basic" feature. However, it doesn't hurt to do things manually from time to time. If the FMS doesn't support it initially you can still use heading select to do your legs in the hold.

I control app in the uk on vatsim. Most pilots can't even fly headings or follow climb instructions let alone flying a manual hold

Flying holds manually is not hard to do whatsoever. Each leg above 14,000 feet is timed at 1.5 minutes and at 265 knots. Really not that hard to do...

It may not be that hard but that is one of the most basic features for an aircraft. It's probably not recommended in a hold full of aircraft hand flying it as you may bust your level

With great pleasure we received a pre-release (early beta) version from Mathijs to get first impression of the Aerosoft A330. Of course we also want to share this with you.
So good! We can't wait and you should be just as excited! :) Good job to everyone involved.

I completely understand why developers do not give a release timeframe. It is just a bit awkward for folks like me, who like to give themselves a budget when buying addons.

Parts of me want to buy the 739, or the Premium Deluxe for the 787, and parts of me says to wait for the A330. Without knowing roughly when things will release, I can't plan my budget and may end up buying something else to tide me over, only for Aerosoft to suddenly reveal that the 330 is finished. In which case I would have to delay my purchase of the 330.

There is internal strife in my brain.

Absolutely. Hopefully we get it for cross the pond

And that is why you should never say anything like that, lol. It always comes back to bite you in the ass.

Major setback? I would not call it like that, but there were issues that were vastly underestimated. We expected calculations that worked for close to a decade to work in MSFS and they did not.  Should we have seen that earlier? Of course but things are as they are.

There is also a major feature creep element.  As you develop things other teams release things you want to include as well. When as project manager, I tell the dev team I want this and this they tell me it is going to costs so and so many months. It is super hard to resist that, certainly as customers on forums (talking about you readers) start to expect it without any regards to the product price or coverage. See, if we would only work for the PC platform things would be a lot easier. But we think, no... we know, we can deliver the same content on Xbox and Cloud. Without simplifying things. Aks PMDG, they feel exactly the same.  And there are a heck of a lof sales on those platforms you would be an idiot not to include them. There was a time when you could not hook up a rudder, stick, throttle, mouse and keyboard to an Xbox, but those days are way behind us. When I fly for pleasure, I would never fire up one of the PC's, I would be in the air in 2 minutes on my Xbox on my big TV.

    Are we late? Yes.

So can we get a general idea of when it will be released. Not an exact date but just something like Q2 etc. so we have an idea of when we can expect it

@Mathijs Kok Is there any chance we will have some release date info soon?

I don't want to put any pressure on you guys, I am 100% sure you are working really hard, it's just curiosity(which did kill the cat btw)..

I mean 6 months ago you were confident it will be by the end of 2022.. Is it a major setback?? You recently updated us that aircraft is about 89% done(+-20%), any change there?

Agreed, I would rather know that it's going to be for example next year rather than stay in the dark and have to play a guessing game. Even if it's not a confirmed date just a general timeline would put a lot of us out of our misery of waiting :)

Could there be a Spanish library? Like Iberia, Air Europa, LEVEL, Evelop!, etc...
    Or argentina, like aerolíneas argentinas

If aerosoft don't make livieries, there will be 100's made by the community. I would rather they release the plane than create liveries

We have experimented with that last week and I haver good hope it will lead to something that looks cool. If at all possible I like to prevent the drops / no drops effect.

Sounds good. For the windows on the aircraft, are they going to be painted on or modelled?

There's a biiiiiiiiig difference which you're not realising. The images are not the final product, it is an unreleased product :)

Well Fenix and pmdg released images and videos long before their release and there wasn't any significant changes. The aerosoft a330 should be cheaper than the fenix as it will be far less in depth.
