  1. Folks, this isn't the place to compare Aerosoft and another respected developer. That's very much off topic. The post making the ridiculous statement about the relative number of releases from the two and wonders why "Aerosoft always takes so long for everything" compared to others is hidden for that reason, along with the replies.

@Mathijs Koksince you are going to try to get the marketplace version out at the same time as the website version will you be waiting for the update tomorrow so you can self test it - Also will the marketplace version have prices varied per country as every other marketplace product does because it will make it so much more affordable here in Turkey😊

While the code will be provided to the Marketplace folks at release and given Microsoft has taken action to reduce the "lag" between outside source release and Marketplace release, there's still every reason to believe there will still be some. There is ample reason to believe it will be much less than formerly. As to whatever "update tomorrow" you're referring to, the A330 is far enough away from release to not be affected by something tomorrow. As noted by Tom in his very helpful FAQ, when release is imminent, there will be information available, probably including pre-release copies to trusted and reliable community streamers.

As for Marketplace pricing, I believe that's a Marketplace call and not likely to be much affected by Aerosoft. As Tom also mentioned in the FAQ, a price has not yet been set, so it can't be commented on.

  3. To preclude repeat questions on when the update will be out (and abusive comments as recently posted and which earned the poster a ban), it's best this thread is locked temporarily until something definitive can be shared. Mathijs' last comment and amahran's portray the current status.

Hi any release date soon ?

From the section header: "Please do not ask for release dates because if we can say we would have posted it here and if we do not know we can't say. Any dates that are given should be seen as indications and not promises."

  5. For those who don't understand why questions about the release date are frequently answered with "42", here's a response from Mathijs from around page 102. Click to expand. ("42" has also been explained many other times):

    Untitled.thumb.jpg.ed683893dfea98a979ff3ecc2e13daa1.jpg

So, it's come to mean the answer to anything, as well as an answer to questions that can't be answered.

Guys, it's pointless to keep asking for release dates. As noted on the header for this section of the forum, "Please do not ask for release dates because if we can say we would have posted it here and if we do not know we can't say. Any dates that are given should be seen as indications and not promises." It's a waste of your time, it's a waste of time for those who follow the thread and have to scroll past, and it's annoying to see the repeated pattern of the question/the "42" response/the guesses of what "42 means/the explanation.

So two suggestions here: For the moderators, as tempting as it is to respond with "42", let's instead respond with the quote or screenshot of the "Please do not ask for release dates..." text. For everyone else, don't ask and if you do, accept the moderator's response. The moderators function to keep threads on topic, polite, and in bounds. Weeding out repetitive questions that show posters haven't bothered to at least read a couple of pages back before posting a question is in there too.

Thanks for understanding and your respect for the time of those who follow this thread.

  6. No. The Marketplace has its own processes and timing that are kept entirely internal. No developer/publisher has insight into when the release will happen or any way to speed it up. It's simply the nature of the Marketplace.

Sorry guys, we simply do not bother a lot about a cabin. As with all our aircraft products we focus on the job of the flight crew, not the cabin crew. That means we have less work to do, can make things cheaper, can make things lighter on resources and it will all run better on Xbox and Cloud.

This has been our point of view for the last 12 years, it can't come as a surprise.

Folks, please, there's been more than enough said on the pros and cons of a detailed cabin, or even one at all. No need to comment further as Aerosoft has clearly stated their position on cabins remains as it is for this kind of moderate cost DLC. To save you the look-up, the above is Mathis' word on it.

Further posts on this are liable to be hidden as they'll serve no useful purpose. Thanks for moving on.

  8. Please take a few minutes to look around the forums to find out where things are, then repost in the correct area. No support where you posted.

  9. I reduced the font size on sofiane333vjy's post to normal size and also hid the two later comments since they no longer apply. It's an email and texting "thing" that using all caps or using an oversize font is considered rude and the same as shouting in a conversation. It's also possible that someone posting using an oversize font may be using a small screen device and has their font size turned up for ease in reading, so not realize sending messages to sites commonly used with bigger screens results in the big font/shouting look.

  10. Based on what (I think) I know, Simple Traffic simply paints the default MFS aircraft with more appropriate liveries. There is code of course for aligning the liveries geographically, but for only $14.99 US, it seems unlikely the effort to make a cheaper version would pay off for Aerosoft.

Hi, I bought EDDB in the MSFS Marketplace. Are there any chance to get the update from Aerosoft. Usally in the marketplace it tooks more then 2 mounth to get the updatze. Very bad.

    Roland

Sorry to have to say it, but there's no way to get an update outside the Marketplace for content purchased through the Marketplace. You'll simply have to wait for the update to make its way through the checks needed by the Marketplace in-processing and then become available. And getting an update file from a "friend" won't work either, as all Marketplance content is encrypted and a patch file won't overwrite or change the Marketplace version.

This long lag between general release and Marketplace releases has caught the attention of Microsoft, and they're working to improve the process.
