Very nice. Damn, your system runs smooth, may I ask what config you've got?
And those sounds did you add those in later? Or are you using a different sound pack?

Didn't they already had a review in november?

I pointed out this pirate to Mathijs some months ago, few weeks after the release of the F-16 so he knows. I don't think it was a high priority as I believe it's Aerosoft's policy to invest the time in customers and products rather than trying to catch all those pirate bastards. But it's sad to see that the products you've been working on are for grab for 'free' within a matter of days, sometimes even hours

A blur effect would be nice, but so far I haven't seen one done (good) for flightsim up until now. I don't think you will be able to make it with the current effect files that are available to the developers.

Hi,
Was flying a bit today and noticed the engine smoke effect "lost quality" as I advanced my throttle. Does anyone else have this? (see attached screeshot)
Thanks
EDIT: It seems this has to do with the FSX effect and not engine smoke as I disabled the engine smoke gauge in the panel.cfg but still had this effect. Driver setting?
Wow Dag, looks like you have been filling up the plane with dirty fuel But seriously, you're running DX10 right? Could be it, I know I had problems like this when running in DX10.
-
No you can't. The F-16 doesn't has an autopilot system like airliners or even GA planes have. The autopilot is pretty basic: altitude and direction.
However, when you have made a flight plan in FSX, the route is displayed in the right MFD so you can fly our route with that.

Please read the manual, or read this forum. The answers are there...

Is 2009 64bit also available?
I heard bad things about 2009, I think I'll skip it and install 2010 beta 1 right away. Looks much like 2009 but runs much better, even though it's still in beta

QUOTE (Peter B @ Jan 5 2009, 01:01 ) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hi all
Due to bad graphics problems after I install FSX SP2 that I cannot solve yet, I'm having to run the F16 on FSX SP1.
I assume there are limitations but the only one I've found so far is no MFDs.
Also, although all the F16 variation aircraft have been installed in the 'Sim Objects / Aircraft folder, there are only 3 variations that appear in the FSX Aircraft selection when creating a flight. I assume I will have to do without the MFDs but would like to have all the Aircraft variations available.
Any suggestions please ?
Thanks Peter
Too bad you can't run SP2, the MFDs are really a nice feature of this product. But it's flyable even without them. All variations should be available even with SP1, afaik. Have you checked the option "show all variations" in the select aircraft menu? When that's off you will only see 3 variation of the F-16.

Happy new year to all
Yep, you're really getting old Dag, falling asleep before midnight... We had plenty of new year scuds over here in Holland.PS: I fell asleep after too much Baccalao, didn't see a single New Year Scud -
Wow Dag, sweet picture SAS MD-80 taking off there?
To all a merry christmas and a happy 2009

Hi,
I was just about to buy the F-16 on the Flight Sim Store and I was wondering whether the soundpack is included or not. It is not shown on the information page that it has got a soundpack. Moreover on the Avsim review they write "The sounds for this package were licensed from Turbine Sound Studios (TSS); you can hear a YouTube demo at http://secure.simmarket.com/turbine-sound-...soundpack.phtml". They say "for" and not "in".
Thanks for your answer.
Yes, soundpack is included in the Aerosoft F-16 product. Made by TSS, that also sells its product at simmarket. But I believe that the soundpack in the Aerosoft F-16 is even better than the one you can buy on simmarket.

I see it, very good, thanks DAG
Yeah, they work now. Sweet

bump....
Yes, they're all for FS2004. However I tried a few in FSX (Lakenheath, Coningsby) and they kind of worked, but with impact on fps and some weird texture issues. All I can say is download them and try them out.

Dag, the links are dead I really would like to see it. Is it viewable for people outside Norway?

From the F-16 support forum:
For your information, the English boxed version is now available. This contains version 1.10 so all updates after that can be applied. So yes

Hi,
For those of you familiar with the Royal Norwegian AF and their F-16 ops, you probably know that two of the squadrons are stationed at Bodø AB in Northern Norway. This a true cold war base, developed in it's current form since the early fifties and has housed F-84Gs, F-86Ks, F-86Fs, F-104G, F-5A/B, CF-104/D and lastly F-16s (since about 1981).
There's a scenery out for FSX of this base with numerous shelters etc and the civilian terminal area is also very nice. If all 16 generation 1 shelters and all 41 generation 3 shelters are there is not known.
Link is HERE
The readme is in Norwegian as far as I know but I guess you know the drill.
Good luck
Thanks Dag, I was looking for some scenery up north. It's a bit heavy on the fps but it's nice I loaded the scenery up with local time around 13:00, and I saw a sunset They don't get much daylight up there around this time of year do they?

The idea sounds great to me. You should talk to Scott (aka saprintz) about this, he's to one who did the HUD and MDF stuff.
I don't own the HOTAS Cougar, but would it also work on the Saitek X52?
-
That's some awesome work you did there Cody. That voice over in the beginning and end sounds familiar, I believe it's from an early '80s promo video or document of the F-16. I think I have that somewhere on DVD.

The Syracuse NY livery has the same light problem.
Also, occasionaly when I press the switch to raise the canopy it goes up a bit then closes, goes up a bit then closes. It keeps on doing this repeatidly and the sound effect keeps playing. The only way to stop it is to end the flight.
The light issue is probably because it has the wrong entry for the tail light, I think it's using the tail light position from the AM F-16s with the chute house. Use the tail light entry of a C model which doesn't has this problem
the canopy issue could be caused by clicking the canopy switch more than once quickly. It then opens and closes and the sound keeps on playing. What you could do to stop it is to open it again. Usually it stops then.

I have the AlphaSim Cold Lake scenery, not really great quality and pretty hard on the fps but it comes with quite some military AI. Aside from that and the Accel Edwards there isn't much military scenery available (yet). Cloud9 made some nice military scenery for FS9 some while ago, unfortunately that won't work in FSX.

I have the same texture issue with the landing gear panel!
Is there an easy way to repair this in a .cfg file?
I think it's a texture issue. This texture was updated in the last update because of the wrong airspeed indicator images. When it was saved it most likely was saved with mipmaps which can cause these blurry textures. Although I don't seem to have this problem.
But do try Finn's suggestion to set the Global Resolution Texture slider to Very High, that might solve the problem.

There's no GPS as in the GPS pop-up in the default FSX aircraft. But when you plan a flightplan in FSX it will show up on your right MDF and with the ICP you can browse through the waypoints.

That sounds asstonishing (sorry...) So with that update for the F-16 it will also be possible to get the Bitching Betty in and sounds of the switches (among other sounds)?
