  1. Any idea why the default tacan aren’t working on my install?
  2. I'm trying to play the saved scenarios, and tune the tacan on a carrier. None of the default carrier tacans seem to be working. If I spawn a carrier, the assigned tacan will work, but if I try to play a saved scenario, I can't tune the tacan successfully. This is becoming frustrating, as I can't get the AI intercept scenarios to play, because I can't tune to the ship's tacan.
  3. Nevermind, I found the answer through playing around with FSUIPC.
  4. Thanks for the tip about cheat detection, unchecking that did it. On the integration, I didn't try any radar operations, but I did setup the payload on the client (RIO) side, and the payload automatically updated on the pilot side. Not sure if that helps or not.
  5. Thanks, I'll give this a try. I'll report back if I have better results than you did, although right now, I'd be happy just being able to fly without the functionality between the two cockpits.
  6. I've been trying to run this as well, and keep getting an error that says 'Unauthorized aircraft modifications detected,' followed by P3D closing to the desktop.
  7. Is there a way to assign keystroke commands for the .lua commands in the F-14? I’m wanting to make a Voice attack profile for this aircraft.
  8. Would that possibly work with Track IR?
  9. I appreciate the reply. I frequent Hovercontrol, although mostly as a lurker. Aside from DCS, I had pretty much written off helo simulation until I re-discovered my Seahawk X. Now I'm practicing instrument flights around Southern Germany using Aerosoft's VFR Germany South, which is great btw. I actually found my house on there. Anyway, my real question is, can we map the current trim button on the AFCS panel in the Seahawk/Jayhawk to a joystick button. I would currently like to just be able to do that, as it would add a lot more functionality to the aircraft as it stands.
  10. I did a search for this, and found only one lone unanswered thread: http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showtopic=36256&st=0&p=237032&hl=+trim%20+seahawk&fromsearch=1&#entry237032 I figured I would start my own. I would also like to know if it is possible to add the "Trim" button on the AFCS panel as a mappable button. In a real hawk (I fly Blackhawks, but the Seahawk is similiar enough in this regard), you have a cyclic trim release on the cyclic stick. If you press this button, it actually releases the trim while you move the controls to where you want them, and then re engages when you let go of the button to hold the controls in place with force gradient. I know it's hard to get the trim to work like this in FSX, although it would be awesome (DCS Black Shark does a great job of modeling helicopter trim), I would settle with this aircraft with being able to set the trim on and off as a toggle using the cyclic. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. So far this is the only Hawk I've been able to find, FSX, X-Plane or otherwise that you can somewhat fly instruments with a realistic guage setup. Thanks in advance. Jason
  11. Just wanted to comment on Helgoland X. I just flew the SAR mission. What a great time. It really puts your instrument skills to the test. Kudos to the Aerosoft team!
  12. Glad to hear it. It's actually very easy to install the hoist and sling on any helicopter. You just need to adjust the position values afterward to get everything lined up right. If you want to use the sling in a mission (say the Slingload Tutorial), first go to the 'Missions' section, check the box that allows changes to the mission (remember, no rewards if you make changes), then start the mission. Once the mission is started, us 'Alt' to change aircraft, then save the mission with the ';' key. Next, you have to exit flight simulator and go the 'Flight Simulator X Files' folder under 'My Documents.' Look for your flight, 'name.flt,' open it up, and make sure this is either in there, or add it: [sling.0.0] Object= CableLength=0 HoistSwitch=0 [sling.1.0] Object= CableLength=65 HoistSwitch=0 Make sure Sling.1.0 has a cable length, or it won't show up. The first sling is the hoist, which is retractable and is defined in the aircraft.cfg, so don't worry about changing that one. Remember, this will only work if you have installed the hoist text information above in the aircraft.cfg Have fun.
  13. Sweet, I really appreciate it. Not bad for a second post!
  14. Alright, if anyone's interested, has the Aerosoft Hawks package, and Acceleration, here's what you need to have added in your aircraft.cfg to have a working hoist and sling. [sling.0] hoist_extend_rate = 5 //Feet per second hoist_retract_rate = -5 //Feet per second position = 0.5, 4.5, 5.5 //Feet from datum max_stretch = 2.0 //Max stretch distance at ultimate load damping_ratio = 0.6 //0 for no damping to 1.0 for critically damped. rated_load = 600 //Characteristics tension of cable in pounds ultimate_load = 2250 //Breaking force in pounds tolerance_angle=45 //Angle, in degrees, used to determine lateral breaking force limit auto_pickup_range = 8 //Max Range, in feet, for auto-pickup auto_pickup_max_speed = 8.5 //Maximum speed (feet per second) for auto-pickup hoist_payload_station = 4 //Payload station in which the hoist will load in and out of. 1 is first station. hoist_door=1 //Door associated with hoist. Must be open for use. [sling.1] position = 0.5, 0.0, 0.0 //Feet from datum max_stretch = 2.0 //Max stretch distance at ultimate load damping_ratio = 0.75 //0 for no damping to 1.0 for critically damped. rated_load = 8000 //Characteristics tension of cable in pounds ultimate_load = 23000 //Breaking force in pounds tolerance_angle=70 //Angle, in degrees, used to determine lateral breaking force limit auto_pickup_range = 8 //Max Range, in feet, for auto-pickup auto_pickup_max_speed = 8.5 //Maximum speed (feet per second) for auto-pickup Have fun!
