  1. Help!

    I've been trying to register my copy of the DH2 Beaver so I can download the paintkit, but the system doesn't recognize the email for my account or the serial number for the product that shows as being purchased under that account. Any help from the admins would be greatly appreciated.

  2. If you are looking for a Search and Rescue version, you can simply copy the texture.CAF folder from the "100 Floats" to the "100 Wheels" folder and add a new entry to the config file. Below is the entry I used when I did this, copy and paste after the last aircraft and change the X to the next number in sequence.

    [FLTSIM.X]

    title=de Havilland Canadian Twin Otter CAF Wheels

    sim=DHC6

    model=100

    panel=

    sound=

    texture=CAF

    kb_checklists=dhc6-300-wheel_check

    kb_reference=dhc6-300-wheel_ref

    atc_id=802

    atc_parking_types=RAMP, MIL_CARGO, MIL_COMBAT

    ui_manufacturer="de Havilland Canada"

    ui_type="DHC-6-100"

    ui_variation="Canadian Forces - 440 Sqn Wheels"

    ui_typerole="Twin Engine TurboProp"

    ui_createdby="Aerosoft"

  3. Hi Rob, I did a repaint of a couple of First Air Twotters. I did C-FASS in a 300 wheeled and wheel ski version, and I did C-FASG in a wheeled 100 version. I would be happy to share these with you if you're interested.

  4. Ok, no replys yet. so here is what I'm talking about. In the first photo you can see a the bottom portion of the tail is white and the lower portion of the nose looks fine. In the second photo I've filled in the white part on the tail down to the pixel so it just covers, now there is blue on the nose. This what I can't get fix. It's only on the right side and only effects the 100. I can make everything look perfect on the 300.

    Any thoughts?

  5. Hello,

    I've been working on some repaints for the Twin Otter in First Air liveries, and have run into a problem on the 100 short nose that I can't seem to resolve. The stripes on the First Twin Otter run the length of the aircraft and transition up the tail. I have no problem doing the stripe however on texture 3, which takes care of the tail and nose sections I run into problems on the right side. The problem is the lower stripe is blue and covers the entire bottom of the tail, when try to paint this section I always get blue up on the right side of the nose. When I try to correct for this so blue isn't showing up on the nose, I can't get full blue coverage on the tail, there is always a little spot that remains white and visa versa. I have tried correcting this on a pixel by pixel basis and can't seem to solve the problem. I don't have any pictures showing the problem that I can post at this time, but will try later.

    Here is a link to the machine I'm painting, mine won't have the Air Tindi on it.

    Any thoughts from you repainters. I have noticed that Aerosoft has jamed a lot on all the templates specifically this template and space is at a premium, but there has to be a way to do it and most be missing something. I'll gladely share my template for any who might want to tackle the problem, just send me a PM.

  6. Hello Kevin,

    You and I did speak a couple of years ago, I was going to do some 748's up in the First Air and Bradley colours, but never got around to it, you know life gets in the way. Anyhow, if you have someone else in mind for those I'd be interested in those paints if they get done, eventully though I'll get around to doing them myself.

    As for the twin, once I get one done up I'll be sure to let you know. I'll probably do one in the old bradley colours as well if I can find a good reference photo.

  7. Thanks for the reply Mathijs.

    I look forward to the day this project is re-opened. I'm not a modeler, but I might be able to get you performance and spec numbers for the tundra and intermediate versions if you decide to do them. In the mean time I'll paint up some versions of the twins I used to work on and enjoy this great aircraft.

  8. First off, I just purchased this aircraft and have to say it's a great model and I love flying it.

    That being said I do have a couple of quick questions and comments for Aerosoft. Having worked on Twin Otters for over a decade as an engineer I'm quite familiar with the aircraft and can see that great attention was paid to the detail of the aircraft. I was curious and forgive me if this has been answered in a previous disscussion (quick search of forum found nothing), but why did Aerosoft decided to do the models with 8 passenger windows instead of the more commonly seen 7 window configuration. This especially true when looking at the 300 series which introduced the forward window emergency exits which are not depicted in your models. Most of the Twins I've seen in my career both with the company I worked for (First Air) and from other operators looked like these:

    First Air Twin Otter C-FNAN

    First Air Twin Otter C-FTFX

    First Air Twin Otter C-GNDO

    We operated the Twin in just about every configuration available regular tires, intermediate tires, tundra tires, wheel skis and floats. As do many operators in northern climates and lets not forget the Antarcitca. I was dissappointed not to see the tundra tire or amphib float version. I know the amphibs aren't as popular due to the weight, but they are used frequently for Twin Otter water bombers.

    Also the aircraft is a little light when it comes to radio antennas. Again I'm used to seeing HF, dual ADF and dual VHF Antennas. Yours is looking a little naked on top.

    Again, overall I think you've produced a great aircraft you just missed a few key elements.
