  1. Whaaat?? Oh wow, that's too bad. Something that i always loved about your company was the fact that you where open about your projects. We always had insight about what was going on behind the scenes. From the point of view of us, your customers, this isn't good news at all

  2. Mathijs, If you wouldn't mind, I would take back to the higher ups that this is quite a shame and I think a poor strategy in both marketing and sales. What you're doing in this thread is actually typical of modern marketing for boutique products such as the CRJ. I actually decided to purchase the CRJ specifically because of your open communication and insight into the process and development of the product. There was no other factor that played more of a role in my decision. I've also seen the Aerosoft CRJ featured in multiple videos on YouTube and multiple news articles on large flight simulator websites purely due to your comments and information in this thread. That's FREE advertising! The videos and articles were very complementary and very pro-Aerosoft as well. It doesn't change my decision to buy at this point because you, Mathijs, have personally already sold me on the product, but if I was interested in the CRJ and didn't have this information I can certainly say I'd be taking much more of a "wait and see" approach to the product and it certainly would not be a day 1 purchase for me. Hopefully if enough people express this opinion management might decide to walk it back a little. As always, take it easy for Christmas and don't burn yourselves out. Spend time with family and friends. Merry Christmas, Matt W.

  3. This is honestly a real pity. The open communication was absolutely refreshing. 🤔

  4. Sorry, but we are unable to share information on that at this moment. See it as a good sign.

  5. This is really a sad news, the way communication have been handled untill now is the main reason that makes me interested in this project. Rejoice when there is even a little progress and being sorrow for bug or devkit deficencies all builds up emphaty and makes us willing to be supportive (in the only way we can, namely buying the product, being patients and forgive little quirks or malfunctions), rarely the marketing sees how all this is important expecially in a little community like we simmers are (don't be dazzled by the two million users...) sorry for my bad english, hope the concept is clear enough Riccardo

  7. Compared to what we have (had?), it looks like a customer hostile decision. Im yet to see a single user/customer/prospect customer complaining that we're getting too much information. Maybe they will reconsider down the line. The last thing we need is another of those companies that only share insight into its products every 3 or 4 months. Really boring. The Aerosoft approach to this always made me feel part of the project itself.

  8. Is it just me or is everyone else coming on to this forum every 30mins and refreshing it too see if they have done an surprise announcement of a release Lol think it just me thought so desperate for some good news after the poor year we have all been going through. Super excited for the release have been studying the manuals every night so i am prepared. Was so excited when i herd it was Aerosoft that was developing this aircraft as they for me are my go to developers for flight sim scenery and aircraft's. The team are so dedicated to each of there projects with every little bit of detail not overlooked. There attention to detail on each of there aircraft's and scenery is second to none one of the best developers in my opinion for the amount of detail they add to everything they do. Keep up the good work Devs and i hope yous all have an safe and amazing Christmas and new year when it comes yous have deserved it

  9. That is a real shame I have been following this thread for months now and always feel heartened to come here and enjoying experiencing a community excited about something they are collectively look forward to, both with each other and an open group of developers ... Honestly right now(and quite rightly), there are WAY too few outlets that people are able to do that...WTG Aerosoft Marketing

  10. The communication was one of the things I loved most! But do what you must and thanks for addressing this. I think I can say on behalf of all of us that we are all very excited and please don’t let the change in communication reduce to radio silence. Thanks!

  11. Well that's a shame, I too was really enjoying the openness from the developers here. In light of this news I see no other choice but to reduce my rate of thread refresh from every 30 minutes to every 35 minutes

  12. Maybe we were in high spirits too much... It doesn't matter: we have christmas and let us enjoy it. Merry christmas to Aeorosoft, all developers and us!

  13. Have to agree, i am also a bit disappointed in that reaction, I felt it was good to know how it was progressing, (I don't see anything sensative being shared ) so cannot really understand this approach.

  14. Can't agree more with this. I can't see how this can be good for Aerosoft & marketing as well, as open communication is definitely a good promotional tool, whether it's intentional or not. 🤔 That being said, it is what it is.

  15. Well whoever made that decision needs to take a look at themselves, absolutely terrible decision.

  18. Friends, there is no release imminent, calm down. As you will have seen our communication about this project has changed a bit. We already had a lot of private questions about this. That is NOT because of the release but because we have been asked to change what is being shared a bit. It has been decided this should be more handled by marketing and less by the people involved directly. As a result you will find less insight in our development processes for MFS in these forums from now on. We will still try to keep you as much as possible informed. Of course this does not affect support or our products in any way. It is just a change in communication, nothing more. Clearly this is a rather big step for everybody involved here as we loved keeping you informed. But the current size of Aerosoft means that this has to be handled differently. added: I have read one of two replies to this topic that were not very polite towards our management. Those posts are removed and the posters were warned.

  19. Rob from PMDG recently said quite the same thing about communication. Makes me wonder if MS/Asobo are in any way involved in this...

  22. Well I can fully understand the opinion of many of us here regarding the new marketing strategy. I am also a big fan of open communication when new add-ons are in development and yes indeed Aerosoft went a different way compared to the majority of other dev teams but I think we showed them with our reaction that this approach might have been not the best way. If everybody is now complaining about this change than maybe Aerosoft will completely switch to the mainstream behavior which means just an development update every week, month or whatever. I personally dont want this to happen and I also dont think that this was the decision of the people involved directly in the CRJ project but it is as it is now. Let's hope the best and pray for a fast release. Maybe this is why marketing gets more important now. So keep calm and be grateful for everything we got so far. Again it's not common to get so much insights and so quick responses on any question. Big thank you @Mathijs Kok @Hans Hartmann and all the other guys working on this project. Merry christmas and stay safe!

  23. May the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future visit Aerosoft Marketing Executives tomorrow night. And hopefully, on Christmas morning, we all can hear Mathijs proclaim: Marketing changed their mind ! "God bless us, Every one!"

  24. Besides, we don't know whether the CRJ is ready for release or not. The inability to comment may mean that it is (and as such they're waiting for the official announcement of the release date) just as much as it may mean that it isn't. 😂

  27. @Mathijs KokFully understand your latest comment and decision. Although I always LOVE to read your very valid comments in different matters. Of course I am also in a "hype" looking forward to Aerosoft's CRJ, but it will be released when it is ready and that day will come, hopefully, therefore I am trying to keep far away from this Covid threat in order to survive for your CRJ However I wish you and your team Merry Christmas and a healthy 2021 with a lot of sales and tonight in memory of some of your fantastic comments I had a glass of wine or two plus a pizza, not a frozen one though, dreaming of the flight in the CRJ in the future in AS-MSFS. Frohe Weihnachten und ein gesundes neues Jahr 2021

  28. You may not desire to fly business jets but it sounds like you have never flown the CJ4 with all mods from the Working Team. This aircraft checks all the boxes you listed and I have easily flown many hours on VATSIM in congested airspace with no issues managing all necessary navigation as required.

  30. All I can say is that if the CRJ has a working navigation system that will actually immediately and correctly fly whatever changes I make--including the approach that the default ATC won't assign me until I'm 5 miles from the airport, then Aerosoft can have my money right now regardless of whatever other bugs are lurking. At this point, I'd buy a brick if it could be reliably used with Vatsim. Please Aerosoft, free us from the tyranny of usr waypoints and the 180 degree turn to seek out the previous waypoint! As well as the much-maligned randomly breaking off the approach to go direct to the runway bug! 🙂

  33. Well it's a fantastic mod nonetheless, and it really does make the game worth playing now in these early days of MSFS. But yes, it's going to be nice not worrying about every new patch locking you out from your favorite airplane for a week. The CRJ is going to be a complete game changer in that regard, a piece of stability in a rather chaotic game

  34. I think it would be a bad idea to release the CRJ before christmas. Or even before new year's day. Simply because there probably won't be anyone around at Aerosoft to support the release. Even if the devs think the add on might be good enough to release it this week or the coming one I think it would be clever to wait until January. Why the hurry. The sim has been around for a few months only and getting something like the CRJ within half a year would be incredible already. January is fine with me. I got lots of reading to do anyway: the manuals posted in this topic and of course all those magnificent pdf's about the CRJ-700-900 on SmartCockpit! That site really helped to get to grips with the Dash 8 Q400: can't wait to read everything they've got on the CRJ!

  36. Hier die Änderungen: Release Candidate 1 Fixed FMS file not working with X-airports with 7-letter custom ID. Actually remove deprecated airports. Find orphaned approach transitions that dangle at the end of EGLL.dat in Navigprah cycle 2013. Recognize more circling approaches. XSG-11071 Misaligned ILS at NZAA. XPD-11048 Can’t use ext visuals without the aircraft of the master machine in Vulkan. XPD-11079 Fixed inverted normal maps in Vulkan/Metal with HDR off. XPD-11092 Fixed cylindrical projection not working on multi-monitor with Vulkan. Ca. 137 MB warten auf den Download. 😉

  39. You specify a release date when you feel you need to drum up interest and get the product 'out there'. However, this isnt the case with this one as it will sell itself. I imagine it will be a sudden release.
    1 point
  40. That would be a nice problem to have as it would mean much needed $$$ for Aerosoft. Hopefully the devs would get a well deserved Christmas bonus as well.

  44. Folks, I don't really believe Aerosoft needs "advice" on when to release. They will release the CRJ when they believe is the best time, and they're the party here with the best visibility on the situation and with the most experience on when to release this kind of addon. I understand wanting to be supportive, but let's just wait to see what they decide.

  45. There is now also a new installer available for download, which should fix the pathing issue leading to a successful autostart of the LED driver. Because we believe this topic has been answered we have closed it. If you have any more questions feel free to open a new topic.

  46. If you mean the 320 NX, patches are supposed to break it. There's no way Asobo can make changes to the base aircraft without breaking a mod based on it. The team at FBW is already working on it.

  47. Yeah, for the last three hours or so. Keep it down, guys. I doubt that anything in this update surprises the developers. I cannot imagine given the number of times Mathijs has stressed how closely everyone works together that they did not already know what to expect from the update in terms of features. It'll play a role, sure, but not as imminently as you all make it sound...
