  1. Where's Snave when you really need him?

I hope that this post won't be taken down for mentioning a competitor but I just wanted to air my thoughts, albeit in a positive and constructive way. Whilst realising that this product is aimed at an advanced beginner, it seems such a waste has gone on the detail and not into the hardcore component functions that make up Airbus logic. The graphics, lighting and panels are stunning, yet I feel the glass panels PFD ECAM etc fall short of the rest of the modelling. Is it 8 bit ? The detail is lost significantly and looks aliased ? The sound set is again fantastic, apart from "Traffic, Traffic" on the TCAS which sounds like it was done by a teenager in his bedroom. The flight dynamics seem very good, although Taxi speed on idle is non existent and when using a Saitek without FSUIPC, its too easy to overpower during taxi, even when starting in pushback. ILS capture was tricky and again without Approach phase a real feature of the Bus Ingenious, eye candy stuff like the gen power truck and window opening are great and the cold and dark shutdown is welcome. At last someone has nailed how to open doors on and aeroplane. But all of this great additional material becomes for me worthless when a vital component such as the MCDU is not covered to an extent that not only is easy to use for beginners but does not allow them to progress into the higher levels of simming. To have an MCDU without lateral revision, Sid, Star functionality is the biggest dissapointment of all. How can one fly on VATSIM ? One answer was that 90% of approaches are vectored, well in that case what happens when you are put into a hold ? There is no provision for this, stuff like crossing restrictions and constraints are all vital tools for a simmer. To use the excuse it's for beginners is to deny advanced simmers the chance to finally own a great bus and maybe an excuse not to model or simulate a lot of stuff. Personally the dinner tray looks very slick when it pops out but I'd rather be able to set my trim on Flaps/THS Having flown Wilco for several years and having seen them fail to in my opinion correctly support a loyal fan base, I will still be using it. The reason is because Eric Marciano has produced an update, something which they were incapable of doing yet managed to alter the eratic FDE on Series 2 without bothering to do the same to Series 1, even though they had the solution. Jan 2009 was the last update and still TOD recalculations etc were not fixed. But here I find myself still on the same software because Airsimmer are still stuck in 2006 and 3 years of waiting kind of gets boring. I really hope that Aerosoft continue with the great support and do take on board request for an advanced version, I would happily pay double this price for a perfect bus ! A few suggestions for SP1 Autopilot disconect does not work from hat switches on yoke/joystick (mapped thru FSX) , although the Disconnect can be heard. I think this is the correct way to disengage A/P not from the PCU itself. 3. Shaun, simple question. Is Airbus X using the default FSX a321 Fly-by-wire system?
  4. Please stop with the insults...yankeesji and many others of us have tried where we/they can, to help other users that may not have as much knowledge or expereince. Thus maybe take away some the burden of simple questions/answers away form the DEV/Support team. You will find people here are willing to help if you are willing to help yourself. In answer to your question - yes
  5. I'm sure you solicitor will be happy to relieve you of even more money Send an email to support@aerosoft.com, but expect to have to wait a day or two. They are hardly on standby during the weekend for this kind of thing. Also, considering you are the one who made a mistake, I'd suggest being polite when you write to them.
  6. Hello Rob, here is a FIX for the Problem. Good Luck!
  7. I need no fully SID/STAR. But enter it manually we need a little more Function in the FMGS (Place/Bearing, Fix....)
  8. Have I read this 3 times? LOL. In reality, read the chart and sharpen you skills like the pros do. You must admit it's a great bird though.
  9. If you have Windows 7 64-bit and the error is caused by UiAutomationCore.dll do a google search. There's an easy solution out there. Worked for me hope it works for you.

  11. Learning curve 2 hours. (Prev knowledge of Airbus planes) Very nice plane...Aerosoft Great job! Video not edited; Addons; REX,UTX, ENB Series plugin,EZCA, D.Puljević Croatian airports.
  12. Here are a few links for those who want to know more about how to operate the Airbus (as an addendum to the manuals ). Feel free to add more interesting links to this topic! A320 Primary Flight Display This site shows you a picture of the PFD: click on anything you want to know more about (symbols, annunciations, etc.) and you will read an explanation of it. Simple but very nice and informative! A320 Navigation Display Same as above, but now about the ND. A320 information (Ozten Network) The PFD and ND sites above are part of this site, which is dedicated to the Aribus 320. Haven't checked it out yet, but it looks interesting. SmartCockpit Airbus 320 Series I guess everything you need to know is there, but it can be a bit hard to find what you are interested in. (Thanks to Finn for the link.) Speed Tape Airbus - Descent & Arrival Information about the speed tape. (Thanks to UlfB for the link.)
  13. While being real, I support the post and agree to pay 100+ EUR just to get a decent simulation of the A320. After my experience with simulations of the caliber of MD11 I would not be satisfied with anything less than that. I see the amazing screen shots of the A320 X and I understand the massive work Aerosoft team has done to get it there, however I will refrain from buying the bus until there is more advanced version of it. I hope Aerosoft will move the project further and will enter the league of the "extraordinary" sim airplane developers.

Hi all Captain's! I can also confirm the speed issue in climb mode. Five flights have been tested, both the 320 and the 321, and the speed issue applies to both models. My experience is that when using a costindex of 80, I'll get around 90%N1 trust (about half cargoweight and pax and with 5-6 tonns of fuel). The flights starts perfect, but I'll always get trouble around 15-20000ft where the aircraft is no loger able to hold the climb speed. I have been waching the N1 trust all during climb, and It starts promising the first part of climb (under 10000ft). Before 10000ft, the N1 trust is about 70-80 depening on weights and weather conditions. When accelerating up to 300kn after 10000ft, the N1 trust increases to maximum, and when 300kn is reached, it decreases to more normal levels again, 75-85%. Then something intersting is happening. I continue to monitor the N1 trust, speed and altitude. The N1 trust inreases again slowly as new hights have been reached. When the Airbus is around 15-20000ft, the N1 trust is at maximum for the chosen cost index, and the aircraft is no longer capable of holding the speeds as it contiune climbing. I have never got this aircraft higher than FL320, but that took almost an hour(!), and never above 0.70 Mac. By the way, I have also tested with different cost indexes (10-20-50-80) but with the same result. Otherwise I like this Airbus very very much and hope that the Aerosoft crew will sort this speed issue out in the next days. Maybe the solution is to mount a extra set of engines?? ------------ Øystein
  15. simply +1 even though aerosoft said many times what is included and what not at least it should be possible for a plane "perfect for online flying" to decent automaticlly at the tod (and to show this). i think it´s also funny that no airways can be entered but if you put more than 5 waypoints you can´t see the tod symbol anymore. but i still hope many people buy this bus so aerosoft will think over their opinion and include a more serious mcdu. form their first impression they stated here in forum they already sold more than they expected in the first days. maybe we will get something more for our money...

seit wann warten die flugzeuge auf fehlende passagiere ? hehe
  17. Howdy all, I have just completed my maiden flight in the A320 and overall I think this is an extremely promising aircraft. What works, as-at-release, works VERY well, and what doesn't work is all fixable. Well done Aerosoft, you've got a potential winner on your hands! I say 'potential' because there ARE some issues. I've beta tested software for years now, including the PMDG MD11, JS41, 747-8i and 747-LCF, so I'm all too aware of the fact that 100% error-free software releases are a bit of a myth. The following observations (in order of discovery/identification) are made knowing full well that this is version 1.00. Plenty of these have already been noted by others, I include them for completeness of the report. Some of these might be issues with the way I'm doing things too. Happy to be corrected here. Cheers Mark - After loading a Cold and Dark state, an ambient sound in the background has a 'click' in it. File "ASC_GenRunLoop.wav" appears to be the culprit, with the 'click' located at the start of the recording. - APU start/spool up is way too fast. I couldn't tell you the precise duration off the top of my head, but from memory it's be in the order of 15-20 seconds. This is not a 'showstopper', sure, but this is definitely affects the 'suspension of disbelief' / immersing nature of the product. Manipulating the APU modelling to produce a slower spool-up would do wonders for the general 'feel' of the start up process. - Likewise, the Engine start behaviour has some issues that - while not critical - seriously affect the simmer's immersion. Initial spool up prior to fuel introduction is about right, but from lightoff to stable idle is WAY too quick and the EGT/N1 rise WAY too high. I had just completed pushback as the number 2 engine was starting and the imbalance of thrust spun the whole aircraft about 30-45 degrees to the left. The whole engine start should take about 35 seconds from Engine master on to Stable idle. Now in fairness that's for the IAE variant, not sure about CFM but it's not a lot less. - The ground spoiler arming logic is REALLY tricky to get to grips with, in particular when arming prior to takeoff. Can I suggest a rethink on tieing the logic to the thrust being above idle? It really is quite distracting to deal with this when you're taxying out. - PFD/ND refresh rates are a little slow. Even a small increase to the PFD refresh rate would greatly assist with manual flight in IMC. - During climbout and at other times during the flight, I encountered the 'airspeed zero' issue as already outlined. Now, here's the big one for me: I had extensive issues with autoflight, such that I ended up handflying the whole sector from EDDH to LSZH. - Frequently the FMA modes disagreed with the FCU settings. I was able to control the aircraft using the sidestick even though AP modes were showing on the FMA as active. - Switching between managed and selected modes occasionally caused a display issue on the FCU, where the selected speed would show, AND the managed 'dot' at the same time. - Periodically throughout the flight I would get a spontaneous AP disconnect master chime, the lateral and vertical modes on the FMA would dissappear. - On one or maybe two occasions I reconfigured the FCU and re-engaged the AP, it would make efforts to turn on to track / acquire altitude but for the most part, the autoflight simply wasn't happening for me. (It's a testament to the FBW that I was able to handfly the whole trip so easily and with such a high level of precision that I almost DIDN'T MIND that the AP was unservicable! More on the good stuff in a second...) - A/THR was a bit of a mixed bag, I got the required thrust for takeoff and inital climb. In the cruise the engines remained at the CRZ N1 limit and the aircraft never quite made it to the expected cruise mach. When the time came to start the descent, I couldn't get the engines to come back to idle, I ended up manually disconnecting the A/THR in order to manage the whole thing. - The autobrake works well in all modes, though it doesn't disconnect when I apply manual brakes, is that intentional? Now, that's a lot of (hopefully polite) griping - here's the good stuff: - The FBW is GREAT, an absolute joy to use. I didn't encounter the issue with the 100ft pitch down, though I did trim up a little in advance as recommended on the forum. I had NO problems handflying the aircraft from Hamburg to Zurich and with a good degree of precision too. - The external model and textures are SPOT ON in my view, I don't spend alot of time outside of the VC but what I saw was very impressive. I also like the way you've ACCURATELY captured the stiffness of the wing in flight, don't change a thing! ;-) - The VC is a real triumph and it would be a fair call to say it is state-of-the-art at present. I can't think of a criticism here personally. The window refelction texturing is about the best I've seen anywhere! - Apart from the specifics already mentioned above, the sounds are brilliant, very immersive and a joy to listen to. - Taxi behaviour is excellent, a very pleasant aircraft to manoevure around the airport.
  18. I totally agree there are many things that need improving, it just makes it difficult to help people out when there are so many posts bringing up the same things over and over, a search for terms/keywords before posting is one of the rules that Aerosoft expect us all to follow to help reduce the support load for them.
  19. My intention was not to mention discovered bugs again, I would have done it in a more detailed way, but I just wanted to present my first impression about the product vs expectations vs price vs feature list. I will wait patiently for the SP1 but I would say that there are still things to improve which I hope that Aerosoft will take into consideration for the future, based also on the feedback received on this dedicated forum. PS: as a suggestion for the developers, it is possible to increase/decrease values of Pressure, SPD, ALT, VS and HDG with left/right click over the digits, beside the existent way? I honestly dislike FSX default camera moves and I use Walk&Follow which is more flexible and easy to use and I have to disable it every time when I have to set new values for FCU (because mouse scroll is used for zoom by W&F).
  20. After two and a half hour of work,i can post my first screens. Please note this is my first paint for the AS Airbus and ther are many mistakes, but i'm confident to finish this paint tomorrow (today) evening, without any mistakes Sorry for the bad picture quality David

They are on the charts next to the ILS frequency along with the morse code ident.
  22. Even though I understood some packages will be made available soon, why none of the painters (except Jan Kees) upload a couple of liveries to make people wait ? The liveries were ready much before the aircraft and now we are waiting for them... non sense. Greg
  23. very helpful comment there chopsuey. why not tell us what you believe to be wrong, otherwise your comment serves no purpose
  24. I have an axis on my throttle quad set up to control the spoilers (thru FSUIPC) and it works perfectly as long as the throttles aren't at idle on the ground. In the air it works fine as long as you have flaps equal to or less than 3, which is how it should work.
  25. Hi, FSX Acc first 2 flight A321 Air Berlin, both on FL 320 Speed 0.78M, no issue but a bit underperfomed imho. today: Niki A320, FL300 Speed 0.78M , only issue with Speedbrake , it is only 0 or 100%, no controlake slewing with mouse. CH Yoke ( i know ) and Pedals. I didn´t do any changes to FSUIPC, it did work from scratch. I´m using Managed VS and Speed all the way up.
  26. Indeed, good review, you wrote the main points. I was not sure about buying it or not but then I bought it, more for its potential honestly. I must say that at its price I am a little disappointed, of course I take into account that any initial release can have many bugs and I also take into account list of features presented in advance. I will point out some of the topics which in my opinion should be improved/fixed. 1. sounds - callouts, APU ... 2. MCDU - I know, it was simplified but also the idea was to simulate what a left seat pilot is doing and at first contact with it, as I am used with MCDU of Airbus, I must say I was confused and several times I really wanted to activate approach phase... but I couldn't, also I couldn't introduce more waypoints 3. AP behaviour, autoland (several times even if ALT was managed and set to 3000ft plane was ascending to 5000ft) 4. lighting of VC (here I have to compare it with other Airbus addon which even if it is for FS9, and we know FS9 have many limitations, is basic 5. displays: fonts, colours and quality is medium, it doesn't give the realistic feel (and it can be done better, depending of fps optimization, of course) and I was even in FS9 that it can be done better 6. engine startup behaviour I fly Airbuses in FS9, FSX for a while, I read FCOMs and normally I should be able to fly it without reading a step by step tutorial but at this moment, I couldn't do a proper flight. Other 2 Airbus addons which I have are better flyable, at least at this point. So I hope things will get improved, at this moment if it were possible I would have gone for a refund. Of course there are many good things and the list is for sure longer, I just wanted to point out what are my regrets at this moment.

  30. Jeremy, try looking here: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21256 By the way, the third picture is for one of the Dubai metro stations, and not part of the airport.
  31. I have been swithering to buy or not to buy this light version of an airbus. Excellent feedback Mark, thankyou. In it's present state, I will hold off for now. cheers Gerry
  32. Excellent feedback Mark, and pretty much sums up my experiences with the plane during the last 3 days. I am confident that some issues are being fixed right now, especially the thrust/N1 issues during climb. Very good add-on with huge potential.

Thanks. But i dont understand. I understand they dont have SID/STARS ok i is a decision of Aerosoft , but wing lights is a very nice external effect.

It knows from the ILS frequency and the course you set which runway you are using. The course part is important because some airports us the same frequency for both ends of the runway, if you use the name though it avoids this confusion as the names are different (even if they use the same frequency) depending on which runway you are using .
  35. I'm done here Raul...I feel like I'm arguing with my dog or something. I hope you have a nice day.
  36. It was clearly announced what this plane was. Maybe someday they will add SIDS and stars, but most likely not for a long time if ever. It is what it is.
  37. Timo, thats right. But I miss Waypoints in the Database or many Waypoints in a Star are Place/Bearing Points, right? So I look for this Option for the next SP. Stefan
  38. Can you please tell us when the manual will be released? Not only I'm waiting, but a lot of German customers.

First, I want to say thank for all your feedback. I am very happy to see, that here are alot users, I never seen before. That is fitting to my feeling, that the actual situation we see in different forums (not only here) is not representing the Situation of the "Flightsim" Scene. I am part of this scene since the beginning, where BBS was the only exchangebase, then later in Compuserve and when the Internet comes up, also there. In the past, forums was vistited by a lot of people of the scene, freeware developers, some of the payware fraction, and a lot of users, discussing the problems, discussing tools and addons, but all mostly on a fair base, with the repect for each other. But in the last years and specially in the last months, the tendence in them forums is going more and more to a "fightbase", FSX against FS9, VFR against IFR, User agiants Users, Users againts Payware publisher or developer and so on. The base of users, who are part of this discussion and who push them, is small, you see always the same in all this fights, but the effect they have, is big, because mostly the "normal" users only search for help or exchange of know-how, will leave this areas, or only read and wondering. For me, who what's to help, not only for my product, not only here, it is very difficult to ignore this all, you will automatically get notice of this statements and attacks against everybody. So, there are no chance to ignore only a part, you must ignore the forum at all, but, then you can't help those, who are fare beside the fights and attacks, and the hard part is, they are the majority of the scene. I don't want to push you into fights, don't what to see "How fantastic Products it is" posts, but everybody who still likes the flightsim hobby and who is happy with some (maybe not all) of the products the developers offers, should be show that too. Only by giving also a feedback like "all fine here" will give us developers, but also other users, a realistic view to the actual situation. Here it is primary a suppport forum, so there it is normal, that problems are discussed. But there are always threads with a feedback background, where all statements are wellcome, positiv, negativ and all between, as long as the form is based on respect and fairness. Idiots are everywhere, but we should not give them the priority in the scene, but therefore everybody needs to be part of the communication. Regarding AES: I will not stop working on AES and I know my customer base very well, so my goal was and will be to do my best for them. But, at the moment, we have a "overload" situation: I have a 7 day week with 10-12 hours a day. My fault, but I can't change it: nearly the half of my business time is done outside of any flightsim, here I have to finish same major project at the moment, so it need some attention too. The rest is fully FS parts, but not only AES. Aerosoft, GAP and Simwings have a lot projects in pipeline (Faro, Antalya, Orly, Barcelona, Munich...), where I am involved in parts like AESlight, Runwaylights and Tools for optimizing the process. I must move my priorities every day, that's makes it hard to get forward with all the same time, as I want to go. And, when you see every day, that there are poeple runing around, who have nothing better to do as to provide your work for free, it will effect the priority list more then you like it. Based on the situation, that I have a week holiyday this month and I don't release a software short before, when I am unable to react for problems fast, AES will have to wait a littlebit longer now, until I am back and hopefully can find the time to do all the needed adaptions for the new major hubs we have now on the list. Thanks again for your time, be active in the scene, keep the respect for all and so we can keep the activities on this nice hobby on a high level.
  43. Im really wondering that in fact, a few customers are bying before they're read the product description or this forum. Andy shows you, how you can use SID and Stars anyhow. It is'nt very optimal, but an acceptable alternative. I use it in the same way. Grz
  44. Oh my god.. today i read what Sid and stars isnt simulated in this airbus... WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my god, i am in trouble..... 31eur for no Star Ehhhh....
  45. Yeah i know it, but i want to fly in vatsim and other network and what i will do if atc will change the runway for me:) I watch the video of real approach and there pilot can choose the runway and approach chart, why here i cant, its not realise completly? Thanks for answer:)...Help!!!

There are a few issues we know about. You will always find this information in the readme.txt file that's located in FSXMainFolder\Aerosoft\Airbus X. This list is based on the current 1.11 released files. This is only available as a complete new installation not as an update as it includes most of the bigger files. Before installing this new file (that you will find on your order history page), please de-install the current version using the standard Windows add/remove software control application. 47. All summers go to an end. Northern European hemisphere summers last until September/October. Release will be when the release is. And at that moment it will be released, in whatever season happens to be current at that time. And which will be a localised event in any case as, of course, Southern Hemisphere seasons are reversed... It's always summer, somewhere.
