  1. From the first post in this thread "Full option to do the flight planning (airport, waypoints, cruise altitude) on the MCDU and the option to change these things in flight". As I recall, autoland was confirmed in another post. Curt

  2. Dear Aerosoft team, I have just tries a racing game called Colin McRae Dirt 2. After a few minutes I realized how this game was amazing in term of graphics (something I've never seen before)... I was indeed wondering if the same level of realism could be apply to a flight simulator... to be frank, I've been quite disapointed by the Rise of Flights graphics (too boring and less stunning that Orbx graphics for FSX for example)... Thank you Greg

  3. Well, last time I checked, the working title of this project was Aerosoft Flight Simulator 2013, not Aerosoft Cabin Simulator 2013. While ethnically diverse passengers that independently move about the cabin sounds like quite complex a problem (and would justify a simulation in its own right), not to mention the performance overhead, it contributes nothing at all to the experience of flight. Now if you'd been talking about the shifting center of gravity caused by wandering passengers... When I check out a new aircraft add-on and notice a nicely modeled virtual cabin, I think to myself, how cute. But after that single moment, I spend exactly 0% of the time in the cabin - just like real pilots tend to stay in the cockpit. In fact, real simulators don't even have cabins... Judith

  4. I would say that when releasing a new flight simulator it should include the best parts of the world with super realism, fully covered and in high definition. For instance, Maldives is the best destination chosen by most tourists. Indeed, most knows Maldives by “The Paradise”.

  5. Greg, I was curious if anyone would bring up a CodeMasters project. The engine in Dirt 2 is a form of an engine called Ego. The same (or similar) engine is used in another game that I got a few months ago called Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising. The graphics in that game are good too, and you can do some Helicopter flying in that game as part of missions. The interesting thing about OP2 is that you are only bound to the island the game is based on. While I have not tried it, in theory you could travel from one side to the other within the same mission. Check out YouTube for videos. I am sure the flight characteristics of the vehicles are not accurate, but it looks nice. Phil

  7. I believe if you search some of the Airbus topics, there was a PDF link to the file for the Ipad, Iphone, or other Smartphone device. Good luck in the search.

  8. Yes, I've read it, but sorry these days Aerosoft's announcements are not always absolutely trustable ... But as it is now confirmed a second time by an official staff member, I'm really happy about another great FS9 holiday destination!

  9. James, He never mentioned that you can no longer use that location, he simply suggested otherwise. It's generally bad PC management to install your games and other non-essential applications on your primary or C:\ partition. The reason - it takes much longer to scan, defrag, and backup all of that non-essential data. You should limit your C partition to the OS and essential apps (MSOffice, Antivirus, whatever you use that would be essential). In this manner, your defrags should be faster, it should be easier to perform security scans, and your backup images should be smaller and easier to manage (store on an external HD, perform restores, etc) not to mention alleviating the security issues mentioned by Shaun. I would create a second partition and install your games, etc there.

  12. A proposed release in August means just that, and given that August in my calendar, and I guess everyone else's, is 31 days long, it could be released on any one of those days. Then again, an unforeseen problem may delay an August release... things like this happen in any type of project. It is all part of life's rich pageant. I slipped a disc last week, I am unable to sit for more than 15 minutes at a go for the time being. As such, I have other things on my mind than when any software addon for anything is to be released As has been said from Day One, the project will be finished when it is finished, and not before. It is of course very forthcoming of Aerosoft to give ballpark release date figures at all, for which we should be grateful. Many other developers simply ignore the forum members on this front... 13. Finally a new flight simulator, Well Thanks Aerosoft for offering new perspective thought it would never come. Well I have quite an extensive wish list but I don't have those things now on hand I just joined the forum. I'll just say what I have now in mind. I wonder how many of us are really tired of flying around in 'empty aircraft ' I mean no visible passengers or flight crew(where applicable) for that matter. Imagine right now in FSX all these beautiful jetliners and buisness jets interiors free & payware. Just step inside and have a virtual stroll down the cabin and have a seat look around you...... exactly, and no else is coming on board either. Man it makes me sick just to see how the FS community worldwide just accepted this for so long. Now recently a few developers both free & payware try to adress this issue rather poorley like putting a flight attendant here & there maybe a co-pilot & that's all. My question is does technology stand in the way of really creating fully (passenger & flightcrew) annimated cockpits and cabins or is it that we are satisfied with empty aircraft? One of my main request to Aerosoft is to please adress this issue(even now in FSX with an addon) this should be standard for all aircraft with the option for the user to populate the aircraft as desired ranging from empty to full. Special possibilities to choose gender and ethnicity of co-pilot/captain & cabin crew, for passengers this is more tedious. This all via a pulldown menu or some kind of config. util. This will add yet another layer of realism and life like atmosphere and please; realistic 3D models . On small aircraft this adding of occupants is much easier of course. When an aircraft is in take off mode or taxiing, everyone seated after take off and cabin signs off, we have movement around the cabin of passengers and cabin personel. Some passengers walk around some sit, all movements random & independant of each other. Not forgetting flight attendants with trolleys etc. of course. On landing (after cabin signs on) everyone seated. There is alot more I wish for as I said but I leave it at that for now. ' Keeping it real'....... New motto maybe? Thanks

  14. Good luck, I hate moving even though usually it's for a good reason and once it's done you are usually happier

  15. I am not too afraid of framerates. The whole MSFS range has been very slow to use hardware, from multicore cpu/gpu to the more advanced hardware DirectX supported options. There is a lot to gain there. Certainly is we move to 64 bits and get a lot more memory to play with. HOWEVER... and this is important. At the base of all computer graphics are the polygons and bitmaps and FSX is simply not too slow in displaying that. The problem is that you got these huge (up to 100 mile) vision lines so there is a HUGE amount of stuff to show (or to decide it is too far to show in full detail or at all). If you take any of our major airports and you are talking about millions of polygons, there is almost no game that has to show those kinds of numbers. And every polygon takes time, there is no optimizing possible at that level.

  16. Now to be perfectly honest there is nothing in those screenshots that impresses me. I am sure the real thing will be way better then the 256 color, low res, no shading and no advanced GPU images in that video. If you, frkaipanik, like that as graphics you will be blown away by already released stuff like Rise of Flight. There is nothing in detail I can say at this moment other then anything we are looking at is a lot better then these screenshots, lol. But there IS movement, loads of people flying to all parts of the world t discuss things.

  17. Personally, If they include dx11 support (which is it will im guessing) would be amazing, but gotta remember they are building a Flight simulator and to get it right. unlike MS takes alot of time. personally i'd like to see this game well optimized for the PC right out of the Box. which no doubt it will be.

  18. But a video of a stolen beta that shows only the landing lights that are, though cool, not complete. So we do not like it a lot. It's not a preview but some kid showing off he knows how to use torrents. And his landing sucked very much.

  19. I agree, Dirt 2 is an amazingly well built game. Codemasters really have their stuff together! If Aerosoft can organize a studio to produce games like codemasters that would be amazing! I know you can't compare a racing game to a simulator but creating the right conditions for an efficient productive studio is key.... If Aerosoft is serious about a simulator they should start small. Perhaps a simulator with a couple planes and a small chunk of land. Creating something on the scale of fsx is absurd. The amount of work would take a good 10 years….

  20. Hi, just a short question. So, I don't really like the big, unrealistic and too bright landing lights of the Ai aircraft or "by user flown aircraft". Therefor I switched the option "landing lights are shown on the ground" off. My question now: Will it be possible to see the lights of the Aerosoft Airbus even with this option off or do I have to activate it again? It's a new technique and that's why I ask. Best wiches, Chris

  22. Hi, So will the FMC allow manual route planning? Or can it only import FS flight plans? When I got started with flight simulation a few weeks back on the Wilco and Airsimmer I feared the FMC, but now I start to enjoy programming it and learning...... The problem with the wilco is it's not as good looking as say the airsimmer, but the airsimmer has quite a few bugs that need to be sorted. So I was looking for a third addition, but im a bit put off that you say it won't to STAR/SID, but I have not used those yet anyway (nor do I fully understand them) But I think it is important the the FMC is programmable with waypoints and airways, real routes, I think real routes are required anyway on VATSIM which I have not started on yet, not confident enough yet So apart from my questons above will the aerosoft airbus be able to fly ILS CATIII Autoland? cheers

  24. So he did. But, sometimes things don't go to plan. It isn't being deliberately delayed. The last couple of bugs are causing stability issues. Everyone is working hard to overcome the problem. When it comes to software development it's hard to put an exact deadline on completion. Sure, Airbus X could be released today, but care to imagine the flavour of responses when your flight prematurely ends due to a bug? Peoples patience on the whole has been good, and appreciated. Patience is needed for a little while longer. Once sorted the Airbus will be released, and what's more it will be a worthwhile and justified release that will have an impact on the large aircraft addon market. Chris

  26. i tried to use the ORIGINAL installer 8 times, but no luck. I found at least 9 problems in the scenery, its like its not finished, at the runway end is a hole, pieces of roads arround runway not finished, did Aerosoft tested this scenery completely or just brought it to the market??? I realy hope that something can be done for the problems because the rest of the scenery is stunning. Rider

  28. check the latest 15 pages to find the answer. as usual here you get instantly a bad reputation for asking something. i'm really looking forward to see the result. it is also funny to see people counting the days to the product. some said, it will be released at the end of august or at the beginning of septmeber. so, relax and get a life.

  29. Hi, In another post it was revealed that Aerosoft will not support DX10 Preview mode in FSX. I think that its a real shame that DX10 preview will not be supported. I have a pretty fast computer as follows; Intel i7 930 Overclocked to 3.0ghz Corsair Dominator GT 2000mhz DDR3 6GB RAM Gigabyte X58A-UD7 7200rpm 750Gb HDISK Nvidia Geforce 9800 GX2 Running FSX with DX10 preview gives me a steady 36 FPS with Mega Scenery and sliders almost all full. Disabling DX10 Preview reduces my frame rates to between 9 - 17 FPS. With graphics cards now supporting DX10 & DX11, I think that enabling the boost in performance is the way forward. Why would Aerosoft not want to take advantage of DX10? I am sure there are a lot of people who rely on DX10 Preview mode and if Aerosoft products support DX10 then those people would be able to purchase more products, as I would. Aerosoft scenery products are fantastic, however I may not be purchasing any further scenery as it does not support DX10 Preview. I hope that other customers who feel the same way back my request for Aerosoft to re-consider their position on DX10. Regards, Alex.

  30. forget it. before aerosoft releases their fligt sim. we're gonna have the next flight sim by microsoft or another developer. maybe by outerra. if you see how long they take to develop a low simulated airbus, what do you thing how much time they would need to create a whole world and simulator basis for add-ons which is compareable with the fsx. 2012 is really optimistic and unrealistic. i would say 2016 or never. they're are far away of wishlists etc. they're thinking of doing it or not. when the big m of seattle is coming with a new sim and aerosoft is in mid-developing, they will be really f**** up.
