SIMstarter NG

Hi, I had to reinstall Simstater NG P3D from PC Aviator. The version they show is 2.1.0.31, which I installed. I have tried repeatedly to update to your latest version but cannot do so. My anti-virus is off. I wrote to PC Aviator asking for the latest update but no response (yet). Can you please help me obtain the latest update. Many thanks, Roger

Hi, I've set my use external FSUIPC path to be used on a scenario I start P3Dv5 from. What I find is now and again my default sounds options keep resetting to Windows default instead of the one I have chosen in the p3dv5 options. Also no matter how I try I can't get it to start in maximised window and always starts in normal. Which file is the above read from and stored to as my profile loads. Thanks Graham

I have a question. In my Texture.CFG Manager the entry is Texture \ Global found three times in the Texture Config Manager. Can i delete this without problems that only one entry remains. My P3D V5 loading times are currently very long despite the M2 SSD. It may be because everything is loaded multiple times. Thanks Frank

I have configured SimStarterNG v2.1.3 (rev 23) to launch Active Sky (ASP3D) for P3Dv5 via the Extended settings tab. It starts okay but when I exit P3D it stays running as shown by the icon in the system tray. Any way of solving this please?

Hi Could someone tell me what is causing this error in livery manager and how to correct? It only occurs when large images is set. Livery manager works fine with small images. Thanks in advance.

Seeking advice on how to deal with scenery that has multiple scenery layers e.g. Terrain, Layerup and main scenery. My example is Taxi2Gate Paris CDG (LFPG) and install on P3Dv5. After using Simmarket installer, the main scenery files are ordered as: LFPG-Layerup LFPG LFPG-Terrain SimstarterNG P3D detected the addon as three separate xml addons i.e. as per the order above. Is there any way I could have these setup in the same order within a single xml file? My intent is to have all the scenery addons in xml …

Hi Peter, I am experiencing an issue with my P3D/Jeehell system. Since a few days my ILS data is wrong > I am following the glidepath on the PFD, but it's always 600 ft too low compared to the precomputed path according to the MCDU Progress page. I would always touchdown 500m before the runway ... like in "Die Hard II" The only thing I remember I changed, was deleting the default scenery.cfg profile in the Scenery Config Manager. I believe, I wouldn't need it, as I created my own profiles. But although I selected all sceneries in my own profile, I am experiencing above ILS issue. Hi Peter, as mentioned in my earlier post, I am having strange issue , when I start P3D without(!) Simstarter. So this is no bug report - it's the opposite! There is something, that is configured in Simstarter, which makes it work and that is missing, if I start P3D without Simstarter! If I start P3D manually - everything is working basically. But as soon, as I try to connect software from a client PC, P3D crashes. I tested from 2 different client PC: a) Client PC 1 : Mobiflight (WideFS connection) b) Client PC 2: ActiveSky (SimConnect) In both cases, same behaviour. I have a new install of P3D 5.1 and the latest ORBX Central. To begin with, I'm trying to use SimStarter to organise my scenery into Groups and have created a number of Spacers. Once I have organised everything all works wonderfully well, until I make any changes in ORBX Central such as installing any new scenery. After which, my carefully created SimStarter scenery structure looks as if a bomb has been dropped into it! All my ORBX scenery is stored in Libraries on a separate storage drive which I suspect may be an issue? What puzzles me is that having backed up my scenery.cfg before using Central, restoring it makes no difference to the ch…

I have installed version 2.0.0 (rev 175) and have to update to 2.3.1 (rev 23) and get message: update not on server and exit. Could you check what the problem is. SIMstarter NG.log

Currently I have SimStarterNG installed for P3D v3 and v4. Now that I have bought P3D v5 I need to buy the latest version of SimStarterNG to support than version. I still need to use P3Dv3 for Concorde meaning the existing version of SimStarterNG needs to remain. Can I have two versions installed without causing any problems?

Hi, I found that the values for Turbulence and thermal effects are reversed on SimStarter. Furthermore, the weather rate of change settings are not captured on SimStarterd v2.1.3. Many thanks! Philip

I'm getting this error, very frustrating. Checkupdates=True, makes no difference.

I am wondering if there's a capability in SIMStarter to run a task after the sim is closed (shutdown). utLive2 always place the add-on.xml in the P3D5 Addons folder and I have a separate folder for addons. This creates a conflict where P3D confuses utlive2 as a new addon, so I have to always delete the folder from P3D5 Addons folder as utlive2 recreates it each time the sim starts. I want to have SIMStarter delete the folder after the sim closes, is there such a function? Thanks Mustafa

Hi- I've started using Foreflight and of course need the GPS out function in P3D V5 selected for my iPad. I have that selected and saved in the Mastercfg file along with two additional profiles in SS. This doesn't seem to stick as I have to enable it after the sim has started. Any ideas? Thanks, Mark

When I use Sim Starter, I loose my FSLabs A320. I have had to put the original back up in place to get it back. Any ideas and help welcome. Thank you Leslie

Hallo, nutze prepar ed 4.5 mit Simstarter und habe nach einigen Monaten problemlosen Betriebes die Problemmeldung im Simstarter siehe Anlage und kann deshalb keine Startposition/Flughafenauswahlmenü mehr anwählen, das der Simstarter wegen des Fehlers nach klicken egal ob auf ja/nein/abbrechen schließt. Starte ich mkrundways direkt im prepar hauptverzeichnis, sagt er alles ok. kopiere ich diese datei in den Pfad and die entsprechende Stelle im simstarter ändert es nichts, die Meldung bleibt die Selbe. Today suddenly this started to happen on startup. And the update started to fail. I have reinstalled it but no joy.

Opening Simstarter I see this warning (see attached file): Auto update impossible. Please download update from Aerosoft support. There is nothing in the Aerosoft updater program. How can I update to version 2.1.2? regards Alex

Suddenly this warning pops-up: "Some Sceneries have a wrong / missing path setting. Pease correct the errors in Scenery manager" (see attached doc1.pdf). I never have seen this before. Opening P3D There is no such entry in the scenery library nor Add-ons. What's wrong and how can I correct this error? SIMSTARTER-NG-P3D Neu Startfehler Es war vorher SIMSTARTER-NG 1.9 installiert, die Version wurde deinstalliert und neu gestartet. SIMSTARTER-NG-P3D als Administrator installiert und bei aktiver Internet Verbindung gestartet. (https://aviation.pero-online.de/testconnection.html Verbindung ist ok, klappt z.B. perfekt mit AI_Manager.) Es wurde angezeigt dass ein Update 2.1.2 vorhanden ist. Update starten und Fenster schließt sich. Es öffnet sich auch nicht wieder nach Neustart des Programms. Auf der AS Direct Downloadseite ist keine andere Version vorhanden. Hello, Is there another setting or something that may be causing p3d to skip the welcome screen? I already have this box checked but it seems to be ignored when p3d launches.
