Just got the T5 finally to complete the collection which is good. Given it a few trial flights and have a few questions: Where are the manuals? When I mean manuals, not the in game one but the one you usually find in the Aerosoft folder. For some reason the first time I set the weapon manager to no missiles, it won't change back to anything else, so I can't load firestreaks or red tops? Am I doing something wrong? Some pictures to go with. Cheers, Peter

Hi guys The T5 radar seems to have lost its background texture and is showing black when is should really be orange. The T55 and T55K are ok, so please open either of their panel folders and copy the file Radarback.bmp and paste it into the T5 panel folder.. That'll fix it . Regards Dave Rowberry

  4. Started by Debowing,

I read the manual and I have watched the you tube videos. Even thought the autopilot switches( AP STAB MASTER HEIGHT Etc.) are all on, the autopilot is not stabilising the flight. The artificial horizon with the bead is not moving. The radar scope cannot be turned on. It seems that I am not getting electric power to the aircraft, but there is no indicator saying that the generators are off.

Does the ejector seat work on the T5, as when I use it, it just asks if you want to quit the sim? Does it have an animated sequence is the question?

Hi, I have all three Lightning models installed on my PC. They're very nice models of the aircraft but I've noticed two little glitches (maybe). Firstly on all of the aircraft the Nav lights seem to be inop. Also in the T5 model with the landing gear down and locked when I first load the aircraft up I only get two greens (the port main wheel shows unlocked). Is there anyway to resolve these issues. David

  8. I was just looking through some repaints of the various Lightnings available and realised that a period that's been ignored slightly is the early development batch Lightnings namely the P1B, seeing as the P1B is very similar to the Lightning F1 I thought I'd make use of the paintkit. Bit of background on the P1B. It followed on from the English Electric P1A (would've thought it) which was the first ever "proof of concept" if you like, but these two prototypes were limited to around mach 1.53 due to it's aerodynamics and somewhat underpowered Sapphire engines with unreliable reheat. The P1.B was in effect the aircraft that entered entered RAF service in 1959 as…

Hello, I think Team SDB may have released an updated scenery of Binbrook... not sure if it's any different from the original one, though it may be P3D V3 compatible: http://www.fspilotshop.com/team-sdb-raf-binbrook-end-era-for-fsx-p3d-p-6678.html

If anyone's interested I've just uploaded a new repaint for the F6 on Simviation. It shows '693 as she was when conducting the Foxhunter radar trials in the early nineties while the other one shows her as she was in 2009 at Thunder City. All the screenshots for the thumbnails were provided by @Eivin Stenso so big thanks to him for going out of his way. I've included a folder called "screenshots" where you can see the other screenshots that Eivin came up with. http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=Aerosoft+lightning+xp693+collection+textures&x=0&y=0 If the link doesn't work then it can be found on simviation with the file name "Aeros…

I have big problems.I cannot steer my aircraft on the ground. The nose wheel stays put and doesn't steer. I have a Logitech pro3d joystick.I steer other planes without problem but cannot get the lightning to work.I have tried all key combinations,I think. All else works except I cannot taxi. The rudder works fine using the stick.I am tired and don't know what else to do. I have the latest version of the lightning running Prepar 3d v3.4

  13. Through some clever editing (to quote Jeremy Clarkson ) I've managed to complete my first successful (ish) AAR with a KC-135.. Sadly the slow run up of the Avons combined with my single throttle joystick (thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X) makes close formation flying in the Lightning a bit of a pig. I've read that in real world pilots would only throttle one engine for overtake speed so maybe I'll invest in a joystick with two throttle levers.. Anyone got any tips or tricks for AAR, may as well get it right since it was a usual occurrence on a sortie in an actual Lightning, "fuel critical aircraft" putting too lightly perhaps T…

Hello, I finished this repaint last week but sort of forgot to share it, so here is the link. It is my first attempt at a full repaint so it probably has some imperfections. Cheers, Peter

Hello, This is my first try at a repaint. Since I couldn't find the F3 paintkit, i used the current 92sqn F2 paint and changed some of the letters around. This aircraft is XN727 as 'A' at RAF Leconfield. I figured since Team SDB had released RAF Leconfield another 92sqn F2 paint would be nice. Here is the link: I hope you enjoy, Peter

  17. Started by TheCameronPerson,

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knew of any decent RAF Gutersloh scenery. I think the ACG Gutersloh comes to mind but as far as I know it was only ever released for FS9, they were in the middle of an FSX native model when ACG came to an end. I've seen on other forums about there being a patch that allowed the FS9 model to work in FSX, just like they did in the case of their RAF Leuchars. Does anyone know of anyone who has this patch? if not does anyone know of any other good sceneries for the Lightnings other than the Binbrooks and Wattishams that are available? Thanks, cameron.

  18. Started by YoYo,

Hmmm, strange thing, I take my old file from Aerosoft e-shop. Aerosoft - English Electric Lightning X (2.03) I downloaded AS_ENGLISH-ELECTRIC-LIGHTNING-F3_FSX_P3D_FSXSTEAM but cat unzip it (in few programms): It looks like wrong file on the server...(checked 3 mirrors, the same problem).

  19. First of all let me say that this F.Mk.6 product has fast become one of my favorite aircraft in my hangar. I absolutely love it. The attention to detail is just fantastic. Visually it's a thing of beauty. Very nice job indeed! I can't believe David is a one man show. Incredible! So I know that developers receive all kinds of requests, some good, many annoying...and still soldier on! Hopefully this is taken as it's intended. There's really nothing to not like about this product. I've praised it elsewhere as one of the most fun and great products I've used in FS world. So what is this post about? I would like suggest and help (if needed) to make the visua…

  21. My last repaint was of XR724 as she was in 1992 and I had planned to complete another paint for this aircraft that showed its current state (very dirty and faded) but I've decided to take some more time with this one because Dave was kind enough to send me lots of close ups of '724 and there's a lot of dirt to paint on right and I think it'll take some trial and error. Instead I decided to release this repaint of ZF579. It fits in with my theme of painting "live" Lightnings because she started all of her engines and systems this September for the first time in 30 years after a complete 16 year restoration. Also it gave me practice with alpha channels and put some RSAF rep…

  22. Started by TheCameronPerson,

Hi all, Please find below the download link to repaints of XR728 and XR713. They're represented in their current guise found at the LPG QRA shed at Bruntingthorpe. The file should contain two files, one named XR713 F3 and the other being XR728 F6. Quick note being that XR713 is not a complete repaint using the F3 paintkit, just a quick edit of the existing 111 Squadron F3 so it's not perfect. Thanks, Cameron. LPG Lightnings.zip

  24. Here's a repaint of XR724 as she was in 1992 when she made the last ever Lightning flight in UK airspace from RAF Shawbury to the former lair of the Lightning at Binbrook. She's owned by the Lightning Association who kept the airframe live for a number of years making the occasional taxi. Unfortunately Binbrook has changed hands a number of times over the years and each owner seems to have had different views towards '724 and for a while she was stuck outside cover in the lovely North England weather. Also Binbrook has largely been reclaimed by nature now so I don't think we'll see fast taxis anymore but as of 2015 according to the LA website engineering work has resumed …

  25. Started by Eivin Stenso,

Hello airmen! When I'm new to an aircraft something I like to do is to stay in the pattern doing low approaches touch and go's to get the feel of landings and liftoffs. I've noticed though that the Lightning has quite narrow tires. Should I restrict my touch and go's and just be doing low apporaches? yt - Eivin
