Hello guys, about a year ago I started flying the AXE and am still learning everyday new things about this wonderful bird. There is one thing I am still struggling a little bit with, and wonder if someone here is able to explain the difference to me. Wikipedia etc. weren't really able to get me out of my confusion. So the question is, what is the difference between DIRECT and ABEAM? What is used for what? Any hint is greatly appreciated! Tom.

Dear Team, I am a new user of the AXE and I face a strange problem with the navigraph database. I made the changes as per the manual in the .ini file and the navdatabase seems to be correctly loaded in the AXE. Correct cycle shown in the A/C status page of the FMGS. On the INIT page, when I try to enter my departure / arrival airports none of the ICAO 4 letter airport code seems to be in the database. I am each time directed to new waypoint page for each airport. The strange thing is that all other nav point such as VOR, NDB and intertsections are ok . More strange, airports appear correctly on the ND, but are not reachable from the FMGS. No problem with …

Hi I have a problem with displaying some PBD waypoints. For example I will use ILS09L at EGLL. I'm trying to insert this part of route: WEALD , D26 BIG on R276, D29 BIG on R276, D35 GWC on R001 (with this one I have a problem because it is not displayed correctly). Ok so, noob question. This is my first time flying a airbus of this complexity. In FSX/P3D with other (simpler) aircraft, you set up your flight plan through the flight planner and then once in the sim, request IFR from ATC. With this A320, I take it you can't use the in-built FSX/P3D flight planner, so how do you interact with ATC?

Hello I've just reinstalled the new version, but my MCDU doesn't regognize anny waypoints or airports annymore. I've had this problem before, but forgot how to solve this. Can you help me?

hi all, after my desperate efforts to land axe in eddf (mostly missed) here is what you need for approaching 25L/25R: FAP/FAF REDGO (for 25R) and LEDKI (for 25L). they are both in the axe database but- for what reasons ever- not included in STAR offered by the MCDU. the respective approach charts are available at rocketroute.com. just choose the routing points you need and set the above as final point. don't forget to set the correct ils-frequ. in MCDU RAD/NAV page and the appropriate fl (in case of EDDF 4000ft). axe will capture smoothly LOC/GS and glide down to the rwy. the website provides also charts for west-approaches (07L/R). the point is, that final wp offered b…

First of all please forgive me for bad English, I am working on the SID/STAR file for a small highland airport of China, ICAO code (ZUJZ), one of the most challenge airport in China. I already finished SID STAR file for PMDG base on the CAAC charts, but when I opened SID/STAR file of AXE(Airbus X extend, sorry for the wrong subjuect), I am confused by the format of it, I can finger out some of the parameters, like VOR name, direction, distance to the VOR, attitude,speed limits but there are just too many of them. It will be great if someone can share the definition of SID/STAR file. Thanks in advance.

When I export a route with PFPX 1.14 for the Airbus X (donwloaded yesterday, 19-04-2014) I get a BAD FORMAT error when I want to activate it in the MCDU via co-route. What is, or what am I doing wrong here? Thank you, Marc Nieuwhof

Hello guys I am trying to do some flights in the USA, however; there seems to be a problem with me entering the waypoints into the MCDU. Hi all, I have some small issues with the A320X; 1) At some airports and specifically on any SID from R35 at EICK the initial fixpoint contains an error. In Cork the first fixpoint after departure is '2500' (an altitude), upon reaching it or before (often as we are from ATC) you commence the turn in respect of your next waypoint for example a DIR to SOVIX, the turn if you follow the SID or the DIR is extremely limited in bank, a lot more than in reality. For example on the reciprocal R17 the same fix point although obviously opposite, '2500', the turns on R17 SIDs are a replica basically of the real bus and as I see it does on a daily basis (in relation to bank wh…

Hi everybody, I have a question regarding the Direct-to functionality of the Airbus Extended. Is the „Inbound/outbound radial“ function from the DIR page working? I mean, is it possible to select a VOR on the DIR page and then specify an inbound radial (using the right LSKs) so that the bus automatically turns into an inbound course to the VOR once the correct radial is intercepted (Of course you have to be on an intercept course prior to arming that function)? I tried to use this functionality on a VOR approach into Kos from the south to runway 32 but I couldn’t get it to work. I can input the data in the DIR page and insert it into the flightplan. I would like to understand Non Precision Approaches much better. I have flown the Managed NPA tutorial by Joshua (LOWW/LGKR) several times now, but would like to fly a Selected mode NPA. Can you give me some help. Also, is there a video of these procedures (uTube etc) that you can recommend please?. I realise that most commercial airports have ILS, but some do not, TNCM for example. Hello everyone, I had a quick question regarding altitude settings within the MCDU. Taking a look at the screenshot with this post, as you can see Top of Climb is indicated as FL350. The next waypoint, KERMI, has an altitude setting of FL319, and the next waypoint is VUZ, and for some reason that altitude is back up to FL350. After that is Top of Descent. Why does it do this? I have FL350 dialed in on the Glareshield and it is set in Managed mode. I currently have AXE Version 1.16 installed and I am using Navigraph AIRAC 1403. I have verified that I am indeed using the Navigraph navigation data via the Airbus X Configurator. Any help or input on this su…

AEX Hotfix 1.6 Navdatapro 1403 FSXA SP2 P3D 2.1 Hi all, when I fly to LFKJ I am not able to select RWY20 and STAR ALG3P for arrival. The data for this RWY and all approaches are included in the database because when I change aircraft to PMDG 737 NGX I can fly the approach. Just a few questions as i begin to start grasping the Airbus, i have been a long user of the PMDG Boeing fleets but now am looking to start on the A320. I booted up the latest version 1.16, and a few things presented themselves. As previous payware aircraft go, most will be setup in such a way that they are almost good to go in the sense of engines running and navigation displays etc are all on but when i booted up the PFD, ECAM and ND are all dimmed off. I am aware of where the dials are to turn them on but i was wondering why they weren't already on display? Also the ND was blown way out of focus... Can anyone point me in the right direction? Hi I have a strange issue. If on ground or after TO i push the HDG knob (and the AP obviously too) the Airbus won't follow the NAV it stays on HDG mode and the route remains in a dashed line. V1.16 Wind 7 FSX Acc.

I've noticed that the TOD will recalculate and then the aircraft begins to level off there must be some code that cleans it up because it jitters just a bit to achieve cruise. At what point can I change the chosen runway and still have the FMC manage it, IE: the point of no return? Is it normal to have to take over control from the AP if the runway you choose initially is not the active?

Is there any reason why the airac from gbmitch will not work with the AirbusX?

Hi All, Having an issue with the Aerosoft Airbus X, specifically the departure at EGLL. Using Navigraph AIRAC 1308 and you can see below that the Aerosoft SID is not correct. There is also a PMDG 747 shot showing the correct layout. Anyone else had this issue? I know others have raised similar issues, namely here http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/69491-egll-lam3a-ils-27r/?hl=%2Begll+%2Bsid+%2Bproblems#entry511334 back in August, and which claim to have been resolved. Using AXE 1.16 and hotfix 19, attempting to input the flight plan EDDF RATI5F INBED UL610 PABSA VENEN.VENE2W LOWW results in a "NOT ALLOWED" message when entering the UL610->PABSA leg. Entry was done manually and the error occurs (PABSA and INBED are both in UL610) with both NavDataPro and Navigraph 1311 AIRAC data. The data in both sets appears to be correct when examined, and I have not encountered this problem with any other airway... DJ
