Diamond DA20-100 Katana

When i installed the katana 4x, and started to fly, i noticed some problems. 1 i could not see te RPM gauge. 2 i could not see the clock. 3 when i lock at my 6'oclock i see that there is no tail texture. 7 when i turn my transponder knob from stby to on the whole transponder texture changes to "nose trim". Any body else had this probleme?? I did try to install the aircraft 2 times, but i had the same problems both times.

I was happened this strange situation,i got GPS & Nav mechanical & attitude was failures during descent and i was tried reset by circuit breakers but it's not work,and then i used inspection from workshop after landing,now strange is inspection not found any failures.

I just installed my older copy of the Aerosoft DA-20 Katana X and applied the SP2 update. Now when I load the aircraft, I can briefly see out of the cockpit but within a second or two it is as if a blanket was thrown over the cockpit and I can't see out at all. Is my copy of the DA-20 too old? I keep seeing references to the 1.4 update on this forum but my Aerosoft account shows the latest update as being SP2. Confused!

Good night, Recently I have purchased your product the airplane Diamond Katana 4x. I could install it without any problem. The plane is awesome and everything is okey except when I try to select the following options in the main menu/preflight: Fuel Station and Cleaning. Both options don`t work. As soon as I click in any of them, the mouse cursor indicates that the computer is loading something (clock). The FPS decrease hugely and I have to reinitiate the FSX again. My operating system is Windows 7 professional. Could anyone help me to solve this issue? Thanks in advance

I updated my Katana to 1.04 and installed FSMap. I took it for short exciting flight around LOWI. Flying in this weather was a big mistake however....

I finally decided to take the plunge into real world aviation after hundreds of hours in FSX and more recently a few dozen hours in the Katana on VATSIM. I arrived at KLDJ, which is six miles south of KEWR, for my introductory flight at a flight school which trains with two DA20 C1s and a DA40. I booked one of the DA20 C1s. Just wondering if it is just me, or the turn coordinator ball is locked in the center when doing a slip/skid turn. It might have already been addressed, user error, or logged for an upcoming patch. Thanks! EDIT: autorudder somehow had become activated.

Hi all! First, racked about 6 hours in the 4X Katana - love it. Just love it. Anyway - I particularly love the engine gauge needle vibrations and the same in the altimeter and airspeed indicator, however, I want to increase it! When I'm real world flying, I notice that the needles for altimeter and airspeed indicator are very rarely static (wind over the pitot et cetera) and I would really like to introduce a little of this random fluctuation to these instruments. Does any FAX configuration file genius have any ideas how I might make some tweaks to achieve this? Thanks very much in advance! Dave

Had a really great flight tonight, but noticed an odd issue I haven't seen over my first 5 hours of flying the Katana. Throughout the flight the gen light would periodically flicker for a few seconds then go out. Then flicker again a couple minutes later, then go out again. Did this throughout the flight although not really causing any other noticeable problems. Any thoughts on what was causing that?

I'm experiencing FSX crash when I either change the Katana for another plane, end a flight or exit FSX. And the flight hours in reailstic mode is never recorded due to the crash. Seems to be APC.dll (a file that is loaded when using Katana). How can I fix this ? My user is admin and FSX and Katana were installed with Admin privileges. Katana v1.03a, Core Duo 2.4, 4GB ram, well I don't think the hardware is the problem. Thank in advance, Luc

Hi, In previous versions I encountered the problem that VoxATC would not show up. This situation was resolved by manually editing the "panel.cfg" Well, it seems that the problem may be back. In this occasion, VoxATC is able to configured itself into the "panel.cfg" but it fails to appear in the "Add-ons" (Ooops!) "Views" menus. I have also noticed that there are some ‘comments’ in some lines “Window63=Dialog // 7630”, which seem to refer to the “Ident= xxxx” on the corresponding “Window[xx]” below. Strangely, VoxATX ident’s number does not seem to follow the sequence, and neither would it work if changed. Any help is very much appreciated. My “panel.cfg” below: /…

I updated to the latest version of the Katana, but now after i load a plane only the top "4x" part of the menu shows. So i cannot chose for "before taxi" or the other options. Any ideas are appriciated!

Hello, I'm happily using Diamond Katana by long time. It worked pretty well until now but in last three-four flights I registered everytime a very high CHT temperature. In the last flight, engine stopped on the ground during taxi (after a complete and successful preflight check). I opened workshop and service windows, made ispections and repaired all what was red. Repaired engine, changed oil, performed a new walkaround check and all appeared ok. 10 minutes after takeoff the cht temperature was again over the red line and the engine stopped in flight. Just a quick question... where is this option located. I do have to say this is quite a fine craft, the level and attention to detail is astounding, accurate, first rate work.. congratulations. After installing the DA20-100 Katana into my Flight Simulator X, I noticed that when I fly it there are a couple black objects that are floating around the plane outside the cockpit, the canopy is missing, and the engine won't start. I tried uninstalling the DA20 and reinstalling it, but the same thing happened.

I have not been able to find anything in the manual or the forum regarding the visibility of dirt on the canopy from either of the spot plane views. I have let my canopy become excessively dirty after several hours of flight without a cleaning, and have gone as far as allowing oil to make its way onto the glass. None of the grime appears on the canopy when using an external view, but oil is visible on the fuselage around the oil filler door and at the canopy's edge. I just wanted to confirm that this was normal before troubleshooting any further. Thanks and best, Tom

Hello, Well this is a strange one but after hours and hours of experimenting and testing this out, I have come to the conclusion that the Katana is wrecking havoc on my Texture_max_load setting. For some reason, the Katana always resets it back to 1024. The way I found this out was by using the Katana and then seeing how low the textures were on other add-on aircrafts such as the PMDG NGX which seems to demand Texture_max_load to be set at 4096. Can this be fixed in the next patch please? I love the Katana but I also like using other addons without having to constantly using different fsx.cfg files or constantly resetting the texture setting back to 4096. Thank yo…

Have any of you managed to set custom camera views with the Ezdok utility for the Katana that work with Track-IR? I can set them but they won't save. Every time I restart FSX, the views 'break' and the cameras are stuck in the fuselage. I don't have this problem with any other aircraft, only the Katana, which is why I post here, rather than at the Ezdok forums. Please understand that this is not related to drivers, updates, gpu settings, fsx.cfg or those pigeons on the wire outside my house. Your help is much appreciated. HI i purchased the katana and downloaded with admin rights and with the anti virus off, than went into fsx and selected the katana than after a few seconds fsx ctd to desktop I using windows 7 fsx acceralation 64 bit operating syatem. How can i map the mixture lever of my CH Eclipse to the carb heat lever in the plane? I have FSUIPC but the mappings i tried didn't work (one even removed the lever from the panel to my surprise)

Hi, I updated my RealityXP GNS530 to version 1.6 yesterday and now I've lost the ability to access a few of the Preflight Checks, namely Walkaround, Fuel and Tow Bar. Aircraft is in the "Parked" setting. If I press 'Shift + 4' to access the key commands I notice 'Shift + 6' should bring up the Walkaround, however pressing 'Shift + 6' brings up the RealityXP dropstack. Is anybody else experiencing the same problem? Hoping there is a simple solution, before reinstalling the Katana? Katana is V1.03a OS W7 64 bit Thanks, Andy

Hi , My first post here. I am interested in buying the Katana. Is there a difference between the download version and the boxed version? Does the boxed version come with the manual while the download would require the manual to be printed? My second question is does the lastest download or boxed version come with the lastest updates or do I have to get the updates after buying the plane? Thank you, it looks like a plane I will spend a lot of time with.

What could be the cause of the clicking noise, similar to a misfiring spark plug, that I am hearing when the engine is running. It actually fades out as the engine RPM increases, so I guess it's intentional but what is it? I am flying in Realistic mode and have carried out a service and inspection but to no avail. Thanks, Toby
