Diamond DA20-100 Katana

I have version 1.04 of the DA20 Katana running on FSX. Very nearly every time I load the airplane to begin a flight, the horizontal stabilizer is broken immediately, even before the plane is started on the ground, It sits at a strange angle, and the elevator is pinned in the up position. The plane is unflyable, climbs into a stall and crashes shortly after takeoff. The only way to fix it is to exit the flight and reload the airplane. This happens with any of the versions of the plane in the Select Aircraft list. I had upgraded from an earlier version of the Kantana simulation hoping that would fix the problem.

I sometimes experience this problem with the radio. After tuning a frequency and opening the ATC menue nothing happens when making a selection. No voice no response. If I load another aircraft things works as intended. This problem is not always there and I don't see during which circumstances it surface. I tried to reset the plane but that didn't help.

Hi, Not sure if anybody else has this problem, but when I load the Aircraft (any version) the cockpit Canopy disappears after aircraft initialisation. I have v1.04 Can anybody help? Thanks Ken

Hi, as i didn't get any answer in the german part yet i post it here: I tried to connect to VATSIM, EDDM_GND 121.77. Unfortunately KATANA-Standard-Device (SIMPLE-Mode) displayed only these frequencies: 121.75 | 121.78 | 121.80 So connection wasn't possible -> i had to choose Carenado Cessna, there's so problem like this. I have the latest version (1.04). Thanks for help.

Version 1.04 of the DA20-100 'Katana' 4X is in development... Additional Livery: D-EWAV from Westflug in Aachen. 3d modell for FSMap in the panel. There shall be two additonal equipment configurations in the maintenance menu: - FSMap (not yet assured that it will work, I am still working on this part) - Custom Area: The GPS slot will be left empty and 2d gauges can be assigned to this area. The second option offers the possibility to include additonal gauges or radios in the virtual cockpit due the panel.cfg. I tried ten times minimum to registrate my boxed-version (1.03a) in the support database to get the version 1.04. Everytime an error message told me that my e-mail-adress or registration key failed. What can I do ? Thx Ralf

Hi First of all, let me say the Katana is my favorite GA Plane and I fly it on a regular basis. I'm still using V.1.02 and I'd like to update to V.1.04. I know that I have to uninstall the old version and do a fresh install. But is there a way to save my data (flight hours, status of the plane, total of landings, etc.)? I'd hate to loose all that. the Aerosoft DA20 4x is may favorite plane in FSX, Hoverever I am unable to run it in realistic mode, cant start engine, cant adjust flaps, no avionics etc. In instructor mode (and simple) everythings works fine, but the DA20 is reset as new each time fsx is started, I want to fly the DA 20 in 100 realistc mode in my fsx how do I do that

At the risk of being beat bout the head and shoulders and also that our Eclipse (which I flew a few times a week) has now been replaced with an Evolution, I am compelled to ask.... hello, a little question: is it possible to have windows with no reflections? i dont speak about cleaning but some instruments and inside the cockpit reflections on the windows.Thats make flying quiet difficult to me. Thanks in advance for help have nice flights Pierre

Hi, I like this aircraft very much, because it is very realistic. Only I have a little problems. I was flying today with it in PNW, the temperature is there below 0. I got many ice at my wings. Is there an way to get rid of it? Also my rudder was not at center, so my aircraft want go to the right. It is not that I have callibrate my rudders wrong, because that its ok. Was that also because the ice?

Due to a problem with avionics partially shutting down some time into every flight (as also described by Qwood in another thread), I'm considering rolling back to the previous version (which has never given me such issues). I can, for the most part, avoid the problem by starting with the default "Trike" flight each time, but whenever I load a saved flight with the Katana, the issue strikes back... I've inspected the plane, checked the data.cfg file for issues, nothing appears to be wrong there... I have two questions: 1. Is the installer for 1.03a still available? I just bought this awesome product for FSX, but I noticed that when I put the RXP530 into the cockpit and turn on the instrument lights that the radio stack/transponder light up, but the RXP530 buttons do not. Is there a fix for this. Thanks John

bonjour, je ne comprends pas pourquoi le da20 katana 4x ne marche toujours pas depuis la mise à jour version 1.04 avec le produit saitek switch panel et en multijoueurs. vous allez me dire de passer par FSUIPC (paywayre 30€) qui est extrement compliqué et me crée des bugs. j'ai acheté beaucoup d'avions payants(carenado,real air,wilco,A2A,etc) et c'est le seul qui ne fonctionnent pas avec les produits saitek, cliquer avec la souris sur les bouttons c'est quand meme moins pratique en plein vol. j'attends aussi le DR400 qui, je l'éspère n'aura pas le meme probleme (très ennuyeux). je tiens quand meme beaucoup à cet avion(le meilleur) et aimerez que l'équipe techniq…

As a pilot who flies a DA20 regularly, but certainly not the only aircraft of which I am familiar, I am personally familiar with ALL of the systems that this model so brilliantly simulates, However, I've encountered these issues in which have left me puzzled as to how to address them. These are most, if not all the issues I've encountered. 1. Rain = complete loss of power (carb heat, power management, etc... have no affect) 2. Use of control lock = no joystick or rudder pedal movement once removed. The toe brakes still function though. The only cure I've found is end then reload the flight, or don't use the control lock. I have just purchased your awesome DA-20 Katana and noticed that there are some missing texture to two items when viewing from the outside, the Fire extinguisher and the first aid pack. Will there ever be a patch for this? I have modified the swiss version to a US reg and named her after my Grand Daughter.

First off, this is an outstanding model. I fly a real Eclipse on a regular basis and so I truely enjoy the physics offered by the Katana. Because I don't fly VFR in poor weather, I have tried to fly the simulated Diamond out of my local FBO in the same weather that has me grounded. However, by the time I turn base in the rain, I've lost power and basically deadstick back to the runway. For this reason, I don't explore and have to choose a Cessna or the like, to venture away from my FBO. I'd rather fly the Diamond as it is a superior simulation. What am I doing wrong? I just updated to the new Katana Version.. I noticed that when I fly the Katana and park it and shut down the engine and leave it parked, now when I start up FSX in a new flight, all the planes are cold and dark! I do not have the Katana flight saved as the default.. How can I stop this from happening.. after I leave the katana at an airport cold and dark, in the past I used to start FSX at another time with a different plane and the plane that I choose was already running.. Any Ideas would be great! Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have been playing around with the katana for the last day after spending some time reading all the manuals. I have a problem where when looking at the outside of the aircraft (even in the aircraft selection screen of FSX) there is a big black box outside of the aircraft next to it and also what looks like the symbol of a GPS unit above it..... I'm wondering if this is my graphics card as my PC is not the best? I have tried selecting other variations but it stays the same. I also can't turn on the GPS in the plane even when zoomed in. Thanks for any help in advance.

This is an old topic, which in another thread, it has been closed. Regrettably there were no conclusive answers to the issue before closing. I have tried to share the Katana DA20 4X cockpit, multiples times with different methods and different people without success. I have shared other aircrafts (payware and freeware) on first try, but the katana goes only so far, and then fails. We have tried all of the obvious steps, like maintaining close compatibility and same versions (1.04) of the aircraft. Is there a method to achieve this task? If so, could someone be kind enough to provide me with guidance - preferably step-by-step. Thank you.

Did anyone make a repaint of this?: If not, I'm on the last little bits of it. Ron

Hello Gentlemen, I come to you with a problem which I can not find a solution with the Diamond Katana I can not accelerate beyond 60 knots. According to the inspection all parts are new and require no repairs. I can set full throttle but the bird does not accelerate. Facing the track I check pre take off mode initialisation mode. I push the throttle full forward, MP reach 27.5 and RPM 2400. I painfully accelerate up to 60 knots, I rotate en climb at 1 feet / mn at 60 knots. I deleted the file Konfiguration but again no more watts under the hood ... Do you have a solution for me? thank you, Kaco.
