Diamond DA20-100 Katana

A little over 3.5 hours and roughly 10 landings...And I'm impressed! I've been lucky...I guess...The only problem I have had is the "Left Turn" thingy! My fix?....Open up the config file and enable the auto-pilot. Problem solved for me. So I think you are onto something good here Marcell. I can think of a few other planes that could use your programing...I hope you have the next project underway. Now....where's the paint kit? Cody

Excuse me if this has been previously addressed, but I can find no reference in the manual or the forums; By what method is the mixture controlled on the Katana? There's obviously the choke for startup, but what about operations at altitude? Is the Rotax equipped with some sort of auto-mixture system? Also, can someone explain the cooling system to me? Obviously it works, but it sems impossible that enough cooling air gets to the cylinders through the tiny openings in the cowl. I understand the cyl heads are liquid cooled - assume that's a radiator I see up front? Marcel and developers: great work - best GA sim so far in FS IMHO.

The flight instruments (altimeter, air speed indicator and variometer) all seem to stick at their loaded settings, typically zero, when Simple mode is chosen as the default and the plane is loaded. They do work as normal (assuming no break downs) when Realistic mode is chosen as the default. Avionics and engine gauges seem to work just fine in Simple mode.. As described in the manual, Simple mode should just load the plane as brand new with no maintenance issues and all systems.functioning. Also Simple mode always loads as cold and dark with automatic selected, and never as all systems on, ready to take off (although not a biggie since the plane is easy …

SInce I never needed to know this, I don't know this. But now I think I need to know this, I'd like to know this... What does 'cag get plugged' mean in the following sentences from the feature list: - Carburetor can get plugged - Pitot tube, static port and stall warning can get plugged I am finding out I know NOTHING about how a plane really works... which makes it hard to keep track of what's going on. Hi, I bought this add on this morning and had a little fly and it's brilliant! The level of fidelity and attention to detail is amazing. After taking her for a short flight and covering the windscreen with oil as I left the oil cap off (oops!), I noticed when i'd landed and the throttle was at idle that there was a red Gen light on the panel. It went away when I increased the throttle a little. What have I done wrong or is that just an aircraft quirk (like in the Warriors I fly in RL the Vac light illuminates at very low power)?! During some flight the Katana is constantly pulling to the left. It's not always like that: yesterday it didn't happen, but right now I have to pull right all the time. I've had this behaviour previously and usually it was solved by loading the FSX trike and then back again. But I wonder if doing that with the Katana during a flight might mess up the complete system... I have no winds btw. Is it normal for the Katana to pull left all the time...? And does it hurt to load the trike and then the Katana again during a flight? BTW I am also a bit confused about the three possible states of the Katana. The manual says something about the FSX crash detection and the Katana, but it's not really clear to me if I should set FSX crash detection etc. on or off in order to (for instance) damage the wheels of the Katana while landing or to damage the flaps when using them at a too high speed... Will the Katana, at realistic settings, get damaged regardless of the FSX realism settings... or not?

How... I have the the 530 but didnt see anything in the manual or in the installation on how to import the 530 into the panel? Its showing it has been configured in the rxp configuration tool.

Hello, just bought this plane today, doing the preflight walkaround check, but general animations do not seem to work, i cannot get the canopy to open, if i click any buttions, i hear sounds but see no animations? How is that possible to fix? Toby91

DA 20-100 Katana: Why isn't the prop visible when the engine is running ? Is that realistic ? And there is no back lighting for the gauges ???

Small bug here... selecting "SIMPLE" mode yields no backlighting on the comms panel. The Transponder is fine, but the comms has no back light. Switching back to realistic will enable the light.

This is an extraordinary piece of work. I've only had the chance for a brief flight but I have to say it exceeds all my expectations (which were pretty high to begin with) and blows away nearly all the GA in my hangar. I have one small issue. I notice that the prop lever doesn't respond when I select the FSUIPC option, even though I calibrate my controls through FSUIPC (using the "send direct to FSUIPC" setting, bypassing FSX, where controllers are disabled). However, the lever does respond when I select the FSX controller option. It almost feels as though the two settings are reversed, though I realize it could easily be some issue on my system. First I will have to say thank you for this outstanding aircraft. But i have a question about the engine is it 100 hp or 80hp? Accordance official diamond flight manual it is a 100hp 912s3 engine but in the 4x da20 limitations manual it says 80hp 912s3? Also rpm, oil press limitation are different.

Hi All, This is a fantasric piece of work... I have the Saitek switch panel,Radio panel etc and by the looks of it none of them can control any function on the aircraft... Is it only controllable via the mouse...My Yoke and throttle quadrant work although the prop pitch refuses to even though selected the FSUIPC mode. Dave

Getting a CTD when I try to load this plane within FSX. My default flight is C172 from the VC. The odd thing is - the faulting module is rxpGNS.dll - maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don't have the GNS530, and only the 430? Hi All, what a beautifull plane you have published. But, the prop lever seems to be a little bit rusty. I do all my controls through FSUIPC but whatever I try in the settings menu. I can't get it to move. is it a bug, or am I doing something wrong? edit: after ten minutes of normal flight. The katana turns into a Atlantis spaceshuttle. it rockets vertical in the sky and the gps goes black... whatever I try to do with the stick, it recovers itself going vertically...
