Diamond DA20-100 Katana

Dear support, I am using FSX on STeam and I have your Diamon Katana 4x addon I have the following issues: - I cannot find a way to reset my katana to new (Immediately and when I want) - The settings won't stay set to "Simple operation" mode and damage remains for each flight (I want a new plane every time I fly it) - every time I change the settings to "simple mode" and go back to look at the settings, they are set to "realistic" again. I do not want this for the moment. Right now, I just want to fly the plane. - The "reload aircraft" option does not reset damage. Please help with this

The paintkit issue is obvious by the title. my second question is why do we have to buy a 3rd party GPS System that's twice the cost of the aircraft to get any good use out of the GPS unit, it looks better with the INOP unit then the stock. for 25 dollars i expected a fully fledged aircraft. just chucking the stock panel in there seems like a cheap/cookie cutter solution. still is a fun field hopper and love the customization options, great for VFR.

seems like this plane has been abandoned. or atleast this subforum has not been maintained to reflect that. Also - i found some bugs, both cosmetic. for some reason only the arm of the pilot shows when the pilot is not loaded, in the plane viewer and the sim. it was not like this when i first downloaded it(7 AM This morning) 2. The sticks are misaligned in the VC. again not like this when i first downloaded it. i have reinstalled several times, deleted the Roaming folder aswell.

G ood morning, With regards to a newly installation of the Katana Diamond DA20 in FSX via Steam: It seems I do not get the engine started in realistic mode. Only in simple and instructor mode. It only cranks and then dies. It seems there has been previous posts by other members with a similar problem. But I did not find any clear answer yet that works. Is it a software-related problem? As required, FSX is installed outside of Program Files and is set as an Administrator mode. Windows 10 is the operating-platform. Please help, Thank you.

I am not able to set the frequencies, neither switch between them, even though the buttons looks to move/rotate. Any idea how to fix, please?

Hello, I successfully installed the GNS430 with the Garmin Trainer (P3D), it seems to work fine in my A36. I was not that lucky with the Aerosoft DA20/DV20, here the panel is showing, but it remains dark. It seems to be configured fine, it also showed the "RXP icon" before switching to "F1". Good evening, the paintkit download available in one of the pinned threads seems to be broken. Every time I try to unzip the archieve, WinRar says it's damaged. Has anyone the paintkit on his HDD and would be willing to send it to me? Thank You, Florian

Hallo in the past i fly the katana with a win XP system and its works fine i flew hundreds of hour and in know the handling of the systems. Now i install it on my new system and now i have the problem that the motor stopps without a reason. My system is an win7 64 professional PC. I have opusFSI, fsuipc, wideFS and Linda on my system, but i try it without starting this programms. FSX is installed in a seperate direktory and i try it to start it as admin. The engine problems are only in realistic and instructor modus. In simple modus the katana works fine. Have anyone an idea what can be the reason? regards randy

Hello, a few days ago I bought the Katana for FSX impressed by the various properties which I know from real flights. I´m very disappointed since I did not find anything about installation. There is only a black screen for normal cockpit view (for an easy start), only virtual cockpit. Under settings FSUIPC is mentioned but not how to use it. Do I have to buy FSUIPC and invest another 30,-00 Euros to make full use of Katana? All these problems in the forums about missing items and switching off of instrument are minor problems. Hi, I realise Marcel is busy with the PC-6 Porter at the moment but are there plans to release a Prepar3d v2 version of the Katana in the near future? Just tried a Trial Introductory flight in one of these at my local flying school and was very impressed. If I took the next steps to a PPL the Aerosoft Katana would be a great asset.

Hi, I am trying to re-paint my Katana in FSX. DSS files that contains the paintings I am not able to edit (no application of my PC is able to read/edit). Greatly enjoying my new purchase, the Katana. However, an issue: On my last flight, with fuel at around 40%, I paused the sim. I returned some 15 minutes later. Unpaused.....all fuel gone, engine died. Crash landed in the hills.... Earlier I noted very high fuel consumption too, but without pause: burned 20% in 20 minutes or so. What's wrong here?! Eric

I am considering purchasing the Katana but wanted to know if random failures can be generated. My understanding is the systems modelling is very deep and response to failures accurate; but that these failures occur either through specific setup in the instructor panel or abuse of the aeroplane. Is it possible to arrange for any off the systems to be failed randomly and if so is there some way of finding out subsequently which system did fail ? Thanks TIM

My DA20 does not work since v2, it worked well below v2. Hello, When ever I am stopped on the ground in the Katana, I have serious trouble moving. I add full power and most of the time the airplane will not move an inch (like my parking brake is on, although it is not) however sometimes I can get it to move very slowly (about 4 kts). I have tried repairing everything and even running it on simple mode to make sure it isn't damaged. I have also reinstalled the aircraft twice now. I can slew into the air and it will fly, and I can even land and slow down up to right before it stops, then and add full power again and it will speed back up as normal. If I bring it to a full stop though it gets stuck again. Any help is appreciated, …

Hi, yesterday I have bought DA20 Katana and installed it, but experiencing some difficulties to enjoy it thoroughly: 1. I am not able to use already assigned (and also working fine with other aircrafts) buttons on my Throttle controller Logitech G940. For example, I have Fuel Pump and Carb heat assigned (works fine with other aircrafts) but it does not work with Katana, although Paking Brake work fine also for Katana, even though this one is on the very same controller (throttle) 2. I've recently installed again my old Katana V1.04 and it's impossible to use due to multiple issues. 1) Initiation windows doesn't show up 2) Aircraft doesn't save settings. If I park the aircraft, next time I load FSX everything is on (engine, lights etc..) 3) Sometimes the stick shakes making the aircraft impossible to control 4) If I try to takeoff the engine shuts down just after lift off I'm using W7 64 bit with FSX SP2 and I've installed (& reinstalled many times) with administrator rights (UAC disabled) I've read the manuals, and I don't have FSUIPC assignment (using rhino X-55 Saitek). Hello, Have flown the Katana for over 2 1/2 years, but recently I cannot fly more than 20 mins without the CHT guage gonig into the red then the engine cutting out. Even after full maintenance and changing the engine it doesnt make any difference, nor does the oil type, inlet baffle is not fitted and the choke isnt being used. Im running the download version 1.04, is there a fix for this or does anyone know how to get around this problem. Thanks Paul
