I have a Diamond Katana 4X and I doesn't find a button for pushback. Shift +P doesn't work. Is there no possibility for pushback?

In one of the closed threads it says, don't assign the button variable to an axis, use the one for a lever: LEVER_CARB_HEAT

How is this done as I cannot find any reference to a carb. heat, or a LEVER_CARB axis in FSUIPC 4.974, with FSX SE?

BTW the DA 20 100 4X is a superb aircraft just like the real thing. I just hope that it will be continued in a more modern flight simulator.

so i use autorudder because the keyboard controls send me up the wall and whenever i takeoff i have ful right alerion to stay on the runway. in flight there is no difference.

For those who desperate to use this aircraft with V4 and don't want to bother "fixing it" at every start up, below is a small LUA script which I load automatically with FSUIPC when selecting the DA20 (it set "instructor mode", this repairs the aircraft, then set it to "ready for take off", and set few of my necessary settings). Pretty much anything can be done like this, if you know the LVARS (I have the full list, but I'm not sure I'm allowed to post it here)

Even though i am terribly late for this, I still want to compliment the developer(s) behind the Aerosoft Diamond Katana. I never got to buy it when it came out and since then I've moved on to P3Dv4. But the curiosity had always remained. Coincidentally it was on sale last week so I bought me a reason to reinstall FSX. So much attention to detail, this aircraft feels like a labour of love. An absolute pleasure. There should be more aircraft like this one.

My Katana has an opaque windscreen in all but one of the cockpit views

All other views OK

All other aspects of plane working well

Anything I could try?

I use the DA20 to fly in Virtual Reality, but RPM gauge is not readable due to VR low resolution, is it possible to add a RPM gauge in the bottom right empty place of the VC?

Pilot not loading in aircraft

I purchased the DA20-100 Katana 4X last week. The setup and first flight went fine. Then I tried further flights and found that under payload I could not load a pilot, the box immediately turns grey again (both passenger/baggage stay blue). I can see in the background that the pilot tries to load but flashes on/off with mouse clicks.

Customer service had me, uninstall/reinstall the software as well as try using directx 9. The recommended settings are used as listed in the manual.

Further trouble-shooting I've tried is:

- updating graphic card drivers
- adjusting graphic settings through fsx only.
- forcing graphic settings through the cards control panel
- running it under administrator rights
- testing both directx 9 and 10
- Loading a save file, as well as starting a fresh flight (neither work)

I've checked the weight file; it is indeed saving ok and is write-able. The only thing I found that temporarily resolves it is when it glitches to use the reset function and start over, which only lasts part of a flight, upon shutdown and switching to external view; the pilot is missing and attempts to load the pilot, fail as described above. Resetting each flight is not a long term solution or fix.

I don't believe it's a problem with my setup as I have a couple of A2A simulations aircraft and they work 100% with adding/removing people/weight, the issue is limited to the aerosoft Katana. I'm running out of trouble-shooting ideas to isolate the problem. Has anyone run into this issue before ?.

Hi, i have just purchased and downloaded. On 1 st few flights, the instruments shake all over the place, unable to read, and are quite blurred. Also it tends to constantly veer to the left?

Any suggestions please, not too technical

FSX closes when end flight is clicked

Recent purchase of this aircraft, not too impressed, does not behave as well as some others or even FSX standard Aircraft.

However, this could be teething problems

But, only with this Aircraft, when i click "End Flight" it closes FSX entirely!

Every time and only this Aircraft.

What is the fix please guys?

Reset DA20 Katana FSX Steam / Stuck in realistic mode

Dear support,

I am using FSX on STeam and I have your Diamon Katana 4x addon

I have the following issues:

- I cannot find a way to reset my katana to new (Immediately and when I want)

- The settings won't stay set to "Simple operation" mode and damage remains for each flight (I want a new plane every time I fly it)

- every time I change the settings to "simple mode" and go back to look at the settings, they are set to "realistic" again. I do not want this for the moment. Right now, I just want to fly the plane.

- The "reload aircraft" option does not reset damage.

Please help with this

Paintkit download returns 0B .zip file + GPS Question.

The paintkit issue is obvious by the title. my second question is why do we have to buy a 3rd party GPS System that's twice the cost of the aircraft to get any good use out of the GPS unit, it looks better with the INOP unit then the stock. for 25 dollars i expected a fully fledged aircraft. just chucking the stock panel in there seems like a cheap/cookie cutter solution. still is a fun field hopper and love the customization options, great for VFR.

seems like this plane has been abandoned. or atleast this subforum has not been maintained to reflect that.

Also - i found some bugs, both cosmetic.

for some reason only the arm of the pilot shows when the pilot is not loaded, in the plane viewer and the sim. it was not like this when i first downloaded it(7 AM This morning)

2. The sticks are misaligned in the VC. again not like this when i first downloaded it.

i have reinstalled several times, deleted the Roaming folder aswell.

With regards to a newly installation of the Katana Diamond DA20 in FSX via Steam:

It seems I do not get the engine started in realistic mode. Only in simple and instructor mode.

It only cranks and then dies.

It seems there has been previous posts by other members with a similar problem. But I did not find any clear answer yet that works.

Is it a software-related problem?

As required, FSX is installed outside of Program Files and is set as an Administrator mode.

Windows 10 is the operating-platform.

Flight1 GNS430 remains dark in Katana

Hello,

I successfully installed the GNS430 with the Garmin Trainer (P3D), it seems to work fine in my A36. I was not that lucky with the Aerosoft DA20/DV20, here the panel is showing, but it remains dark. It seems to be configured fine, it also showed the "RXP icon" before switching to "F1".

Please help me out here, what can I do to get it working?

engine problem on win7/64 system

Hallo

in the past i fly the katana with a win XP system and its works fine i flew hundreds of hour and in know the handling of the systems.

Now i install it on my new system and now i have the problem that the motor stopps without a reason.

My system is an win7 64 professional PC. I have opusFSI, fsuipc, wideFS and Linda on my system, but i try it without starting this programms.

FSX is installed in a seperate direktory and i try it to start it as admin.

The engine problems are only in realistic and instructor modus.

In simple modus the katana works fine.

Have anyone an idea what can be the reason?
