See attached video: moving the OBS2 on the pilot side changes the HSI course on the co-pilot side (and vice versa). Microsoft Flight Simulator - 1.27.17.0 2022-08-28 11-10-44.mp4 I understand that the co-pilot HSI is supposed to be indicating the Nav 2 data, and so the the pilot-side OBS2. Not sure what the actual nature is of OBS2 and HSI2 indicating different courses, but I imagine they should be able to have independent course settings since they're entirely separate instruments; I find it hard to believe that changing OBS2 would cause HSI2's course to change. This behavior is non-physical in current implementation. That being said,…

Look, what’s going on? What’s with the radio silence? Is this a case of “No news is good news? Nothing to report. We’ll tell you when we have something to tell you?” Is the Twotter being worked on? What’s up with the new sound set? Any updates planned at all, perhaps refinements of the recently introduced propeller model, or the new CFD in SU9? And don’t tell me there are no remaining bugs and issues with this plane. And I don’t want to post twice, but the same can be said for the CRJ btw. I’m not gonna say “Aerosoft has abandoned the CRJ and now the Twotter!” because I don’t believe that. But one could be forgiven for starting t…

Hi, Following up on the topic about incorrect operation of the wing fuel tanks, I checked with the Twin Otter manual & the engines are NOT supposed to quit once the fuel runs out in wing tanks. See the page from the manual below. Now, this is from the DHC-6 Series 200 manual, but I am assuming they have not changed this in -300. (The quote is from PDF page 220, Supplement 11, Auxiliary Wing Tanks.) Actually, I forgot, but I posted on the same topic around Jan 28 (Wing Tanks, under Systems). And at that time MK stated as follows, regarding possibility of implementing correct tank operation. So, topic is sort of closed, until further not…

Not sure if 3D modelling is still in Aerosoft's roadmap for this aircraft, but seeing a wire harness leading to the taxi light would be a nice finishing touch: See this picture with the wire harness prominent (direct link to page with credit to photographer😞

If I understand the manual correctly: "If the emergency fuel pump switch is activated, Pump Number 2 activates and its associated light goes out" (What happens in the Twin Otter in sim: both 1 and 2 pumps activate and their light goes out): "If the Pump Test switch is activated, the corresponding Pump Number 1 activates and its associated light goes out" (What happens in the Twin Otter in sim: both 1 and 2 pumps activate and their light goes out):

Since the last update it's been almost impossible for me to maintain a steady approach speed. Speeds just drop from 110 to 80 with no throttle adjustment. You can hear the props change or something. Is this a result of the new spoiler effect to simulate prop drag? Any others find it difficult to maintain an approach speed?

When using the Autopilot Disengage keybinding in MSFS (bound to one of my joystick switches), pressing it doesn't disconnect the autopilot. Pressing it on any other aircraft (Aerosoft CRJ for example) disengages the autopilot. So this is isolated to the Twin Otter. EDIT: For clarity, this is not the autopilot toggle switch (which turns the autopilot on or off depending on current state). This is the MSFS keybinding for Autopilot Disengage (which turns autopilot off if it was on, but doesn't turn it on if it was already off).

Based on what I get out of the manual and from on line posts and youtube videos I should be setting cruise power at about 40 PSI torque and 75% prop rpm. If I set those values I fall out of the sky. I have to set prop rpm to 89% at a 40 PSI torque to maintain 140 KIAS. I don't understand what the problem is.

Just wondering if I'm going crazy.... I set both VOR1 and VOR2 to the same frequency, and the OBS to the same values. VOR1 shows I'd correctly going towards the VOR station, and the right deflection. VOR2, however, shows I'm going *away* from the station. Am I missing something? Isn't this a bit odd?

I'm sure getting some mixed messages from Aerosoft regarding updates to Microsoft Marketplace. Earlier it has been stated that updates were to be issued simultaneously. Once it's available on Marketplace Aerosoft could publish the update on it's website. Now it's Microsoft has the update and we don't know when they are going to make it available. The update has been out since July 13th, it's now Aug. 5th. Surely there must be some agreement Microsoft has with it's suppliers for timely update publishing. Maybe a phone call to Asobo to light a fire on the issue is necessary. The Microsoft Flight Simulator DLC Aerosoft Aircraft Twin Otter has been updated to ve…

Hi. I am using the de Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Floats Pax version of the Twin Otter (the yellow & blue Trans Maldivian Airways livery). Using live weather for VRMM (Male International in the Maldives) today, I could not turn the Twin Otter, with full rudder deflection, for both directions. The live weather for VRMM had a little wind and the waves were a little choppy, but in my opinion, those types of waves are standard for a typical day in the Maldives. In real life, with those waves and winds that I had for live weather today, the Twin Otter on floats would be able to turn, no problem. However, I still could not turn the Twin Otter with full rudder in MSFS. …

Hi. I am using the Twin Otter from the MSFS marketplace. So when I try to lower the altitude on the Twin Otter via the autopilot, the Twin Otter will nose down extremely, sometimes reaching -4 on the VSI, or even beyond -4 on the VSI. The key thing I noticed is that the autopilot is on the entire time, when I try to lower the altitude. So here is what you can do to recreate this issue: Takeoff from an airport. “SET ALTITUDE” is set to 4000, the autopilot is set to on, and I have pushed the up arrow Vertical Speed button to raise the vertical speed to +500 feet per minute so I can reach 4000 feet faster. The Twin Otter will reach the…

@Mathijs Kok I wonder if you have any telemetry on how may users purchased this aircraft vs how many are flying it? Mine's in the hangar until the sound is fixed. I also support those who are asking for GTN750 integration - either version. This is indeed available on most add-on aircraft. If you can't say when the sound will be fixed, please can I have a refund?

Is there a way to get the passenger wing view for the Twin Otter? When I go to Showcase, and then I go through all the external views (even when I click multiple times on the same external view), none of them are set to the wing view. Did Aerosoft not set a passenger wing view for one of the external views? I would hate to go through and modify the camera.cfg file, just to get a wing view. If there is a wing view that comes with the Twin Otter by default, I'd much rather use that, but I can't find it in the external view options.

Hi! After a bit of hesitation I finally bought the Twin Otter, and with sound mod and pack I love it! I'm however trying to figure out how to load the pax version with passengers (the weight of pax anyways). Anyone knows? Is it done when selecting the aircraft? In P3D I recall there was somekind of loading module but maybe not in this MSFS version. Best regards Jan

I know everyone is sensitive about technical accuracy and many are complaining about the loud cabin. Technical is one thing but realistic is another. No company would expose someone to those noise levels for any longer than a minute or two. A suggestion... put a set of headphones in the plane. If I click on the headphones then reduce the prop/engine noise by 50%. Leave all other sound volumes the same. If you do that everyone will be happy. The purists can ignore the headset and fly with the noise and the rest of can hear ATC over the radio again. Turning the Engine volume down in the simulator is not really an acceptable solution, it impacts all planes.

Hello, Maybe it is a dumb question but what is the proper way to stop the engines? I don't remember any mention about it on the manual. At the moment I do it cutting the fuel flow with red levers.

Is there a water Rudder simulated in the msfs Twin Otter? the manual says, its linked to CTRL + w, but it doesnt work. I tried to use the brake, rudder, ailerons, but its impossible to steer. To control the plane with differential thrust IS REALLY a pain in the ass. With low differential, it doesnt react at all. I need half way of the thrust lever, to get the aircraft steering. But then it already accelerates to much, so I have to reverse to get it slower. THATS REALLY A PAIN! Now my question: Is the a kind of working water rudder? Or can you implement it? Even when the real otter does not have one, their differential t…
