It should. I'm using an Athlon 7850 dual core and it runs fine.

Pretty obviously a video issue, though I've seen plenty of people running an 8800 card with no issues. I do use a 9800GT card though.

Possibilities: card is overheating, otherwise malfunctioning or you may be asking too much of it. If other programs aren't causing problems, perhaps try lowering your settings. Also turn off HDR and most post effects; they can be real resource hogs. I don't like the way HDR is implemented and don't use it, and the only post effect I use is raindrops, which look great.

You might also check around the ROF support forums. I've seen screwy screenshots like the one you've posted before so you obviously aren't the only one who's had this problem.

As mentioned ... it should run well enough, check the card is not overheating (is the fan on the card actually working?) a recent Nvidea driver (that has been withdrawn) actually stopped the fan on the card and damaged some, assuming all is well in normal apps and other games though? ... try knocking back some of the detail sliders in RoF. My vid card has 1GB of memory and with RoF maxed out the video memory usage is at 96% I believe the GTS you have has 512MB ... right?

There was a new Nvidea 257.21 WHQL driver release yesterday, might be an idea to try that one.

Finally, try un-installing RoF after installing the new video driver, reboot then install RoF again, go with default graphic settings and gradually work your way up to find the sweet spot.

Hope you get it sorted.

This may have fixed the problem. Playing a few rounds today will let me know. Thank you again for your suggestion

No, the issue still occurs. I am going to clean my computer and see if that helps, also have a fan that I am going to run to help. Maybe its an overheating issue. I still dont know. Any suggestions?

Now, THAT's news to me, thank you!

I had a driver conflict a few months back with my Nvidia driver to the point I couldn't boot the machine. The fellow who built it identified the problem and rolled back the driver, fixing the situation in about five minutes.

I noticed the Nvidia control panel I'd been using was gone, but there have been no further problems and I can hear the fan spool up after ROF or another resource intensive program's been running for a couple of minutes. I'll be keeping an eye out for problems after seeing this though, appreciate the heads-up, and it sounds like it helped schweiger here too, good job :)

I still think that checking the ROF forums might help you keep everything running well. I know I've seen that colorful graphics glitch before, but it's been a few months, and I didn't pay much attention to the comments about it since I didn't have that problem. I'd try a few different keyword searches and see if that yields some more useful information that might help you in addition to M31's suggestions.

I have been through the support section for RoF... all 3 pages... there is not anything that helps me that I see. I cleaned out my computer and found out that I have liquid cooling system for my two 8800 GeForce cards... I was playing RoF today and withing the first 3 minutes of play the glitch happened. This concludes that it is not an over heating issue.

No, for this computer I have had no problems playing any other game, DDO, DAoC, Dark Space, etc.

Please help!

Thank you in advance

Yes I got 257.21 for my Nvidea, It appeared to fix the problem, but the problem is just inconsistant and random. I have my graphics settings set to "50"% in the before game launch menu.

I just want this fixed. For DAoC once i had to get a small driver to mesh the dual core to make it work properly... do I have to do anything like that maybe for my quad core? and if so any idea where and what I am even talking about?
I am not very computer savy.

Thank you
