Cockpit Shared problem.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

When i'm with my friend, and we want to do a cockpit shared together, i'm master and he is slave, we push connect to ON, but it doesn't work. Moreover, When we change role, so he is master and i'm slave, it says connection OK. so i don't understand why.

Thanks you, kind regards

Looks like one of your firewalls blocks either incoming (on one side) or outgoing (on the other side) packets.

Have you read yourself through the pinned topics here to learn either how to use a VPN tunnel or port forwarding properly?

One thing is strange : We did 3 flight before : GVA-AMS-GVA-CPH, and for the CPH-GVA (return flight), I was PF, and he was PNF, so me in master, and then, from this moment, when i was moving on ground, my friend was staying, but he could see my throttle moves etc... So that why I don't understand.

Something is obviously blocked in your communication.

Are you using a VPN or port forwarding?

What have you both configured in your firewall?

Without a VPN or port forwarding (in your and your friend's router) how should a connection between the both of you work?

Have you followed any of the instructions here to configure the connection? Please explain in detail what you have configured and where.

So, in firewall, i see in inboud rules, that I have microsoft flight sim, but in outbound, i don't see anything about fsx. My friend, him, has microsft flight simulator in inbound rules and outbound rules, so something is wrong here.

Please keep in mind that you are not connecting to a regular game server somewhere on the internet but you connect to your friend (and vice versa). That means that the communication must be routed properly and also not be blocked.

You definitely need to familiarise yourself with some basic network/internet knowledge. There are quite a number of (pinned) topics in the CFD forum that explain all that. As also the linked CFD trouble shooting guide in the 6th post in this topic!

Please read this stuff!
