SoarTrack in Windows 8.1 or maybe Windows 10?

Recommended Posts

Hello all you virtual soaring fans (and possibly motorized pilots as well), I just upgraded from a Windows 7 to a Windows 8.1 operating system and am having a terrible time trying to install SoarTrack. I think I've tried just about every possible combination of options to try to have it install, and it does nothing. I've even tried no options (like running no compatibility and also no Run as administrator) and still nothing. All I get when double clicking the EXE is the light on the computer flicker and then go out. No errors, no anything.

So I am asking anyone familiar with this software and is running a Windows 8.1 or even a WIndows 10 operating system, how you may have gotten it to install or not. I would sure love to have SoarTrack on my new machine, even though the software dates back many generations of Microsoft Flight Simulator. Thanks for any help in this matter.

Well after trying and trying to get it to install, I was finally able to get it onto the Windows 8.1 operating system. I haven't possibly seen any side affects yet, so it may be good. Thanks again for the link Peter, wish I new from just looking what the differences were between SoarTrackV1.1 and V1.3, but only time will tell.
