Hello AS :)

I've been using the CFD using Hamachi , however i am wanting to setup my computer so i can fly without using the program Hamachi,

What Programs EXE's(Firewall if any) ports UDP/TCP(Router) do i need to unblock for this to work without any issues?

My IP responds to Ping Requests via Command Prompt

The settings have to be made in your Router and your PCs Firewall. Check the documentation for those two. Thereare no exe files to unblock. Just make that the required ports are open.

Does the Documentation advise on the ports ?

How about simply checking the documentaion of your products. Why the hell should I know what is written in the docs of the products you use?

If reading a PDF is too much to ask for, all asked information is also lengthy discussed the last couple of days here in the forum. So you can also read some few posts instead of the documentation.

Hi Tom,

I have been reading the forum post and believe the ports needed to be unblocked are UDP 6881 and 6882.

I have unblocked these via my router. See Screenshots - http://prntscr.com/6w8y7f and http://prntscr.com/6w8yh4

I have Bit defender Internet Security and I can't unblock these ports , I can only Allow/Deny a Program EXE , in this case what program/s do i need to allow?

I had problems forwarding ports through my WiFi router as well. It turned out that my type of router simply wasn't able to forward a port due to something that's called strict NAT. The solution was to create a so called PPPoE connection beside the existing WiFi connection (be sure PPPoE passthrough is active). Now the router is used as a modem and I can open ports simply through the windows firewall.

Well, theoretically. I'm still struggling with the inbound rules of my firewall. But that's a different story.

And it's more secure than using Hamachi?

Please read the Guide that I published here. I've been serving as a consultant to the Aircraft Developer (not Aerosoft directly).

Port Forwarding is FAR, FAR, FAR more secure than Hamachi or any software that works as it does. It's all in the Guide.

Its basically the same, even hamatchi is save,

Fabian,

I'm not sure if you meant "safe" or "slave". Either way, Hamachi isn't even close to being the same to Port Forwarding, and is absolutely not-secure for Shared Cockpit. In fact, Hamachi bypasses all the security that one runs. The info is in the Guide that Joshua pinned (thread also in this topic).
