jensmohr 1
Hello, now I've not realy a guide for VATSIM. Actually, there's an explaination how to connect in sharedcockpit sessions on the Vatsim-pages. The basic clue is that the "second" pilot connects as "observer" which may be clicked in the small connection window AND! extend the callsign by an "A". (Simply the first letter of the alphabet) E. g. recently my Pilot in Command was DLH1022 in vPilot and I was DLH1022A. It is realy that easy. At least with vPilot. But I guess there are some more friends of this great planes who enjoy flying together with online-ATC. Thus, I think this might be the right place for my question. (Otherwise, admin please move this post to where it belongs ;-) It appears that the sync of the radio frequencies is realised by interchanging of LVARs AB_PDS_COM1_INNER AB_PDS_COM1_OUTER AB_PDS_COM1_SWAP and may be AB_PDS_COM1_SWAP_timeout. Now, as long as we are using "only" the Airbus's gauges in VC all syncronisation is fine. PROBLEM occurs when we use either any 3rd-party software like IVAP, EFB, ... or any hardware (if available), all of these tools "push" the COM1(-Standby) frequency at once to FSX. Subsequently the both of the cockpits lose syncronisation because the aforementioned events aren't triggered in the "second" cockpit because updating the standby frequency at once. May be interchanging (syncronizing) of the LVARs ASC_Com1_Afrq ASC_Com1_Sfrq ASC_Com2_Afrq ASC_Com1_Sfrq would be a way of solving this issue (IMHO) The same of course for COM2 ;-) Anyways, is there any attempt in this direction? Or may be even a workaround? I ts a little anoying to be used to use tools and have extra hardware for flying and not to be able to use them during con-flight-deck-sessions. Thx in advance, Jens Mohr

misskittin 0
Hello, Thank's very much for you tuto!Is it normal that the "not primary" PC doens't get the IVAO weather?
TheCookieMonster 53
Is it normal that the "not primary" PC doens't get the IVAO weather? That is possible, use an external weather engine (FSRealWX, FSGRW, ASN etc.) instead.(IVAO weather is very questionable anyway and shouldn't be used because many other engines do a way better job - in my opinion.) TheCookieMonster 53
Well, you two should use some kind of weather engine, preferably the same on.So my advice would be: both deactive the IVAP weather via IVAP Configurator and install/use (the same) better third party engine. Just a question, are you a shared cockpit user? Or is this just your own advice but you have never practice shared cockpit on IVAO?

Bumpy 2
...for the weather i strongly recommend ASN, while having the same setting including unchecking the "upper cloud pattern fix" but checking the "Supress local weather changes" option for realistic smoth weather changes while flying into that changing weather areas. Let me add that we also tested some other weather engines with CFD and had not so good results with them.
TheCookieMonster 53
Just a short note for VATSIM using vPilot, this is even simpler than IVAO: 1. Master connects as usual and sends a flightplan 2. Slave makes sure, that the "Observer" checkbox is enabled and connects with a similiar callsign like Master, e.g. Master DLH123, Slave DLH123A
