Snow / centre-light overlay problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I don't know if I'm the only person seeing this, but I have an odd issue with the runway overlays from AES. Basically, where the landing light effect shines on the runways, there are some sections that show up black. As far as I am aware, I only see this at EFHK and EFOU, but these are two of my main airports so it's quite annoying! I have had this problem at EFHK almost since the release of the Mega Airport Helsinki, but I never understood that it was AES related until I installed the version that also now covers EFOU and suddenly the problem also appeared there!

Looking at exactly the 'shape' of the problem, I wonder if it's something to do with whatever polygon is used to determine if the aircraft is on the runway centre or not, rather than the texture overlay? Either way, I cannot see any option for disabling these features - is there any way to do so? It does seem to be the kind of feature that should be optional, so if there's not currently a way to disable it, please can it be considered for future releases? If nothing else, it would be interesting to check that it was indeed this feature that was causing it... What appears to happen is that the transparency is somehow messed up.

I do have an unusual screen setup which might be part of the cause: two large panels spanned so FSX is at 5120x1600px and this means I am limited to using an AMD Radeon graphics card (come on Nvidia, let me span two screens // another rant for another forum.....)

The attached screenshot is from EFOU, but the same happens on all the runways of EFHK as well.

Thanks,

Geoff

I could not reproduce this issue and your screen did not show any overlay of AES. Please uncheck the AES Basepack on the scenery Library and recheck how the Landinglights are shown on that situation. I would expect, that you have still the same issue, so nothing AES is involved here.

I have done this and you're right, this is not from AES - apologies for that. It came at the same time as activating AES on those airports but I must have also messed something else up at that time - back to hunting down what that might have been...

Thanks,

Geoff
