Hi all. New member, first post. When flying the Aerosoft PBY and setting the weather to heavy rain while airborne, engines loose power and quit. What are the proper settings for these conditions ? FSX. Thanks in advance.

You must set Carburator heat via the switches on yoke switch panel.

The carb heat switches can be set to Close, Off and Open.

Hold the switch(s) in the Open position and watch the carb air temperature gauge. I think to remember that it get above 30°C, s set it in the region of 20°C.

Yep Finn of course has it spot on. The loss of power is due to carburetor icing, it won't just happen in heavy rain on the PBY as it's particularly prone to it.

Have just bought and installed the Steam edition of FSX.

Can I install the Catalina on this version of FSX. I know the path directory is different to the original FSX.

Best always to start a new thread instead of hijacking one on a different topic ;)
