sac004 2
Good day Everyone, I am new to Aerosoft and the Airbus forum, but not to Airbus operations in general. I don't see any topic on APU operation and wondered if the Aerosoft team was interested in detailing the APU start up and shutdown displays on ECAM in the future. The APU (be it the Honeywell or Pratt & Whitney AeroPower model) will, when the Master Switch is pressed to shutdown the APU, begin spooling down immediately if no bleed air is extracted during its operation. However, if the APU bleed switch was engaged, then the Bleed Control Valve will first close, followed by a one to two minute cool down (noticed by a reduction in EGT) prior to actually beginning the spooling down sequence. I noticed the spool down of the APU is one of the fastest I've ever seen. It would actually be nice if that were the case, but the APU does take longer to spool down and the FLAP OPEN message should extinguish when speed decreases below 7%. Anyway, if Aerosoft is interested, I can provide some additional details. Otherwise, thank you for a very satisfying product - the Airbus series is a real joy to fly! Joshua Che. 1601
Thank you for your report. However, I don't anticipate any changes to the APU anymore.
