Working with Prepar3d V2?

I've got a license copy of CumulsX 1.9, however I hve moved to Prepar3d as my new flight research platform. Has anyone got CumulusX running under Prepar3d? I read a few forum posts implying that someone had (with a few issues like no birds in thermals).

I've installed it, and it able to manually connect to Prepar3d, however when I do so, Prepar3d relads the scenery every 5 to 10 seconds or so. Debug output from CumulusX seems to be ok (other than not recognizing my license).

I am wondering if anyone else has advice on getting it running?

I now have Cumulus X running properly under Prepar3d in licensed mode. It took some manual tweaking of files, and manually moving a few things over. I'll post a detailed list of what it took this weekend if anyone is interested.

Please do! Though it may not help me, since I baled out of Prepar3D at version 1.4 I found out just a little bit ago. After starting it up, I noticed I had FSRecorder, CumulusX!, WinchX!, Sim_logger v2.31, and FSUIPC installed. Not sure how well they worked at the time. I believe I left Prepar3D on the shelf because of no real world weather, but cannot remember exactly.

Made up a guide myself. Hope this gets you all soaring in P3D!

This guide only works correctly if you DON'T have FSX installed.

1. Install CumulusX! into P3D v2.
2. Open %APPDATA%\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX (just copy and paste into explorer).
3. If you don't have an dll.xml in P3D copy the file from FSX to P3D. Otherwise copy contents (paragraph about CumulusX! as below) from dll.xml to P3D dll.xml (normally in %APPDATA%\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2).

<Launch.Addon>
  <Disabled>False</Disabled>
  <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
  <Name>CumulusXDLL!</Name>
  <Path>Modules\CumulusX!\CumulusXDLL.dll</Path>
  <DllStartName>DLLStart</DllStartName>
  <DllStopName>DLLStop</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>

4. If you dont have an exe.xml in P3D (same location as dll.xml) copy the file from FSX to P3D. Otherwise only copy contents (see below).

<Launch.Addon>
  <Disabled>False</Disabled>
  <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
  <Name>CumulusX!</Name>
  <Path>C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\Modules\CumulusX!\CumulusX.exe</Path>
  <CommandLine></CommandLine>
  <NewConsole>True</NewConsole>
</Launch.Addon>

5. Check that the <Path> entry is correct and points to P3D!
6. CumulusX! creates a CumulusXClouds folder in SimObjects/Misc folder for the clouds. Unfortunately, not in the installation path, but the standard path for FSX. So, after installation you should see a FSX installation again. MOVE the CumulusXCloud folder from there to .../Prepar3D v2/Simobjects/Misc.
