MCDU display issue

Having an issue with the right hand side of the left MCDU screen, getting layers of old pages remaining in place while I click on to new pages as can be seen here. I have tried updating gfx drivers but it hasn't worked

HI,

Got the same problem here, text display at 100%. Just moving the window a bit (I grab it from the left side with the mouse cursor when the dash line with two arrows <-> appear ) and it seems to refresh the display and the remaining data from the previous page disappear.

What I also noticed is that the black layer were the MCDU's information is displayed on does not match the one at the MCDU's background. Please have a close look to the dannye92's image above, particularly at the right side it appears a paler shade of black vertical line, quite subtle but focus on it, that may be the issue that he and I (and maybe others) have. It looks like the "blacker" square is superimposed against the MCDU's background. The file it's called "Panel_2d_bmp" and it has 90° sharp corners, not rounded as on the "MCDUIMG.bmp" As an additional information my screen resolution matches that on the one selected in the fsx setup: 1920x1080.

These are my personal observations but you guys have the final word on it. Got to thank you and all the team members for this great job, you finally made the "next step" on it.

Thanks for reading.

That might be related to the strange colored lines that others (including myself) have observed persisting on the right side of the left MCDU. What I think is happening is when you select a different page, rather than unloading the previous page, the software simply pushes it one page-width to the right.

Hi Mathijs,

I've provided a quick description about this problem (please see my above reply) I know you need more reports on this, but a question arises now, What the other users have that we do not? Beside this, my screen is a 16/9 aspect ratio but 2D MCDU appears wider than it really is. The following is a brief list of my rig specs:

OS: Win 7 pro, x64 // CPU: AMD Phenom II oclocked @ 3.8GHz // GPU: ASUS Ge Force GTX 650 Ti 2GB // Monitor: ASUS VG248QE 24" // FSX with Acceleration Pack.

Thanks for reading and we hope it will be a solution to this particular issue.

  • 1 month later...

I have the same problem in both A318/319 and in A320/321. I remember having the same problem in another product (can't remember which one or the developer) and that was due to lack of a particular font. The reason I am suspecting a font, is that it seems that some entries seems to be too large for the space intended, i.e. input of block fuel.

I have the same exact issue when using FSX or Prepar3D v2.4. I first experienced it with A320/A321 v1.00 released in November, and with 1.21 yesterday after installation. Note that my install of 1.21 was performed against a completely clean and new install of FSX - it wasn't an "upgrade" persay.

Same description of the issue as the other users... remenants of a previous MCDU page seem to remain on the edges of the MDCU's display. Moving the MCDU's window seems to refresh the display and it appears normal for a short while until I actually start using the MCDU again and moving through various pages. I use a 4:3 display, but like ArturWashton's post above the MCDU 2D popup seems to be a bit "wide", as if the gauge's aspect ratio isn't quite set right.

While not a showstopper, it is a bit disruptive. Please let us know if there is more information or testing we can perform to assist with repairing this issue.

Windows 7 x64, nVidia 344.60 drivers. Experienced with FSX, FSX:SE, and P3Dv2.4

Editing to add: I *think* this is only an issue on the 2D popup MCDU - I don't recall observing it on the 3D/VC MCDU, much like how the original poster's screenshot displays.

Doing a little playing around, yes - it only affects the 2D MCDU popup... This is a pic of the 2D MCDU overlayed on a virtual cockpit view of the 3D MCDU...

You will notice the MCDU seems a little horizontally squished - I played around with the horizontal size of the MCDU "window" to see if that made any difference, but unfortunately no.

No, we have been hoping for some more reports that could lead us to answers but so far nothing. As far as I know we have 4 users who notice this.

Hello Mathijs,

Is there any additional information we can provide to Aerosoft relating to this error?

  • It occurs for me in FSX, FSX:SE, and P3D v2.4.... (full, clean reinstall of Windows between these attempts)
  • It occured with A320 v1.0 and now on v1.21 (untested on any versions in between)
  • It occurs only with the 2D MCDU, docked or undocked...
  • It is repeatable with every Aerosoft Airbus session I've attempted...
  • The offending leftover symbols will disappear if the MCDU window is resized....

Running on Win7 x64 on a Sandy Bridge i7-3820 w/16 GB RAM (no overclocks ever), with an nVidia GTX 670. The issue has occured with drivers 344.60 and 344.75.

Thanks,

-Greg
