T/C moving during Climb on MCDU on A320

I just tried yesterday new A320. Very nice plane but just a small problem on left MCDU :

First flight was made with following flightplan :

LFLS27 WS VNE MEN GAI AGN AUCHE VAKPI LFBT20 at FL320 in Clear weather conditions

At the beginning of the flight MCDU showed T/C at 18 Nm BEFORE MEN

During Climb, T/C was continuesly moving back and just before reaching FL 320,

MCDU showed T/C at 58 NM AFTER MEN.

Really FL320 was reached at 34Nm BEFORE MEN

Flight was entirely in managed mode and T/C was correct on ND.

All the flight was good : it seems to be a problem on MCDU

Same effect on both Sims : P3Dv2.4 and FSX

I apologize for my english (school is very far )

Best regards

Don't apologize for your english, it is very good. And on top of that you gave us a description of the problem that really helps us to understand what you mean and see in the sim..

I think I know what the problem is here but I will first forward it to the dev.

Thanks

Sorry but new version 1.1 seems to have the same problem.

I just loaded it this afternoon and install after uninstalling the old one

and in the same flight and conditions of my precedent post

the effect was exactly the same :

T/C is not correctly displayed on the MCDU and moves back continuesly during Climb

after a short time of flight.

Perhaps developpers have not looked at this problem for version 1.1 ?

Best regards

Assuming T/C is computed during climb it is always going to move in response to winds aloft and air temperature. Turn off all weather and wind and see if the T/C indicator shifts around...

All my tests were done with Clear weather conditions that's to say with no wind and standard temperature.

T/C is well displayed on ND but completely false on the MCDU during Climb.

This is a known very low priority issue. The prediction system was optimized around descends and no attention was paid to climb (climb predicting is of not much use). It is highly unlikely it will be changed anytime soon

I had this problem too, it caused that I reached T/D before T/C, but in the beginning it saw a long way of my cruise space, optimized cruise alt was FL370 but I could only climb to FL280.

Hi Don, you should not primarily rely on this calculation. If your flight is short, it either doesn't make sense or is simply not possible to reach such a high flight level. Do this planning beforehand and will not have such unwanted surprises.

Don, I had a very similar problem recently in the NGX. I had missed my after takeoff checklist, and when I noticed that my climb rate was slow, I eventually realized that my gear was still extended. Whoops!

Anyway, make sure that your airbus is in clean configuration: gear up no lights, flaps zero, spoilers retracted.
