No jetways at EDDM in FSX - why?

Munich is a major airport. Real world photos show many parking positions with jetways.

Mega Airport Munich has none on my setup. Is this right? These screenshots clearly show them so why am I not seeing any?

Good advice Otto. Did a repair and the jetways miraculously appear. Thanks!

But using GSX the jetway doesn't move with CTRL+J even though the GSX 'customise this parking position' option shows the gate has a jetway.

I suppose this is a question for the GSX team.

Don't understand the point of the scenery including jetways if they're static. I use EFB and that identifies gates with jetways. No gates at EDDM are shown to have jetways so it looks to be purely cosmetic. Switched to default EDDL, Gate B2 and the jetway moves with CTRL+J.

Anyway, I did buy AES credits for EDDM so I do have jetways now. But for a Mega Airport I would have expected them to work without 3rd party addons.

Essentially all if not all of the Aerosoft Mega Airports and regular air carrier airports require AES to operate the jetways. The kind of functionality and detailed appearance available with FSX standard jetways isn't up to the standard buyers have come to expect with Aerosoft airports. Until GEX came along, AES was the only way to add functionality like baggage loaders, air stairs and deicing as well. As you probably know, GEX is a commercial add-on as well.

Since these kinds of eye candy cost developer time and talent, there's a user cost associated with it. Not everyone who buys the airports wants the eye candy, so AES is one way to get it to those who do while not charging those that don't want it.

I take your point Herman but I still think it's misleading when screenshots show jetways and there is nothing in the blurb before you buy saying they are non-functioning unless you buy a 3rd party application.

There are rules in the UK (probably elsewhere as well) about misleading advertising. I'm pretty certain this comes into that category.

By all means show jetways but it should be clearly stated they are static unless AES credits are purchased. Aerosoft, please take note.

Ray, there's no use in debating it. Any add-on that replaces the terminal would break the stock jetways. If the add-on doesn't say the jetways work as part of that package, consider in the future they do not. There may be some out there that do include working jetways "out-of-the-box" if you look around. I just don't know which ones.

I don't intend continuing this debate Herman but I don't agree with your statement that the user should consider jetways to be non-functioning with Mega airports. It should be explicitly stated this is the case. Why would the user have to assume something doesn't work when the advertising screenshots show jetways? There would be a natural assumption they would work.

Anyway, I've said my piece so we can leave it there.
