---> Framerate issues, help us out

Please assist us in tracking down possible causes of the low FPS that some users experience.

Only reply to this post when you got seriously low FPS, so not when you have 25 fps in the PMDG 777 and 21 in this aircraft in some conditions. Only when you get single digit fps when you expect 20+ will your information help.

Set the WX to Auto and make sure the WX display is activated.

  1. What version of the A318/A319 are you using?
  2. What model are you flying?
  3. What is you simulator? FSX or P3D etc
  4. What is your weather tool? (beta versions?)
  5. What other add-ons are running when you tested?
  6. What is your FPS with the default Airbus under the same condition?
  7. Are you using a laptop?
  8. What is your OS?
  9. What is your CPU?
  10. What is your GPU?

Ok, i will give it a go, not much luck after installing latest hotfix. but found another possible solution. thanks to an other member in the forums.

1. 1.02C

2. A318CFM/a319CFM

3. FSX

4. ASN SP1 (official)

5. EZDOK

6. 30-40

7.No

8. Win7 64 Bit

9. I7 4770

10. GTX 770 2GB

the frames have improved now that i turned off "repeating overcast texture pattern fix" in ASN.

With that option selected it is unflyable.

This seems to work on my machine but still testing though.

http://scr.hu/0rd7/fy1g2 <-- it seems to work so far. 1st test a318CFM (BA

http://scr.hu/0rd7/j7326 <-- 2nd test Easyjet A319CFM

Yesterday I flown KIAD to KSFO in payware airports. I have not enabled ASN instead i used fsx real weather update. turned terrain radar only when entering rwy. Havent touched the weather radar even kept the other switches in radar to off position(two scan switches form auto to off) consistent FPS 20 to 21. continued and while reaching t/d plane for once starts climbing instead of descending but it corrects itself and descend and turned ASn while descending may be 18 FPS but not as severe in previous but at 1000 feet again fps hit occurs and what happens is i disconnect ASN again. whole the time wx is turned off. i will test it and report again. Slightly better in FPS with 1.02C.

Guys now I am very very confused.

I see framerates with the DEFAULT super simple Airbus of 15, 27/30 and 25/30. I easily lose one third of the fps when I go from the default bus to our A318 with complex weather and the wx on. I would be very surprised if it was NOT like that. No retract one third from 15, 27 or 25 and you get indeed low FPS. But fully expected! It seems the sim and not the aircraft is already taking up a lot of resources at that time.

Default Bus at 70 fps

Our bus at 40 fps

Mathijs, I get low frames as soon as I turn on the wxr on, but even with the wxr off I get stutters. and they are more intense when I look to the ND

But you get 25/30 fps with the default airbus? That seems low. As said exchanging that for a complex add-on with a working weather radar will eat into that with at least 1/3, so I am not at all surprised you get low fps. If I would start with your fps I would see the same on my machine.

Mathiks my frame gets bad if i set wx to manual but auto my frame rate gets steady.

But as I said elsewhere, if your FPS is 25/30 with the default bus you simply can't expect seriously good FPS with a addon that has hundreds of thousands of polygons more and many complex systems.Certainly is you set a fixed FPS that is not achieved your fps might go through the floor.

Just check out the MDL size of the VC of the default Airbus, roughly 1 Mb. Ours is more than 8 Mb. And that is just polygons, in code our aircraft is a whopping 260 times larger.

Well Mathijs the thing is that I have an external FPS limiter, every aircraft has an average of 27 to 30 fps, sorry I forgot that little detail :chairfall_s: , but still WXR on, and the frames drop drastically and sttuters with the wxr off but still getting on the aerosoft bus between 20 and 30 but sttuters... A lot!!!

My mistake : with default airbus, I have between 35-45 FPS. on airbus 319 i have 25-30 which is fine to me, perfect. but with WX in Manual Multiscan, my frame drops to 5.6/7.0

Today frames drop down to 5 fps. I stop ASN and frames jumps up into the roof.

Send with my Nexus 5

In the versions we'll release this week you got the option to totally disable the WX scanning. A nasty solution but until we know why ASN is causing a problem for some (but not all) users it's a work around.

I hope you can fix this wx issue this week.

Sent via my LG400F

We'll release a version that allows you to disable the WX scanning partly and totally. As long as we are simply not able to recreate the issue on our machines (and believe me we tried) there is no way we can fix anything (if there is anything to fix which I really doubt by now).

However, I was hoping for a lot more reports here than the 4 we got. On in those four the FPS with the ultra simply default default Airbus were so modest that I wonder what people expect in a model that is 8 times more complex on modeling and has over 40 times more code running. I was really hoping we would gather some information that would help us find out what causes the issues. Perhaps most of these issues have been solved by the Hot Fixes of course.

Hi Mathijs,

I never had framerate issues until I installed hotfix 1.02c. With 1.02b it is no problem (I checked it out, I just switched back from 1.02c to 1.02b with the "old" files).

1. As said before, now 1.02b (frames around 18-20, thats OK), 1.02c means frames around 7-10.

2. A319 CFM

3. FSX

4. Active Sky Evolution

5. VPilot (Vatsim Client), but result is the same when VPilot is not running

6. 50-60

7. No, Desktop PC

8. Win7 64 Home Premium

9. i7 960 @ 3.20GHz

10. GTX470

Any ideas on that?

I had been flying the ngx last few days for my v.a. without any probs on active sky next sp1

then I flew a flight with the 319,,,,didnt have the weather radar running but still only had frames of less than 10.

if I turn of active sky I`m back upto and above 30 frames........if I have active sky and the 320/321 I still have frames over 25

hope that helps

Andrew

*bump*

Mathijs, am I the only one with a relation between hotfix 1.02c and framerate issues? Or can anybody confirm this?
