Deputy Sheriffs The Dude 6537 Posted October 2, 2014 Deputy Sheriffs Share Posted October 2, 2014 A little bit more information would be helpful like, which SID or ARR etc?
ubersu 23
This is normal behavior - the flight path isn't computed in real time and if your speed, wind, etc is different than at the time the arc was computed you're going to be a bit off. In this particular case you are probably within limits unless you are flying a procedure that specifies otherwise.

The routing on the ND is a bit of a mess. We got dozens more of these images of the real thing. But the pilots we speak to hardly seem bothered by these issues. They just disable the managed mode and fly the procedure. They are trained to do so after all.
Guest
OMG, pic 3 is impressive....what a brick falling. And i Thought that this was extreme.... Best. Miquel.
Aerosoft Aerosoft Team [Inactive Account] 51558 Posted October 4, 2014 Aerosoft Share Posted October 4, 2014 Lol. Again, all the real bus pilots do consider this not serious problems. It's 'stuff that happens' and with every new software and database you get fresh 'stuff'. Always keep in mind that everything that helps the pilot fly and navigate is a luxury. You never trust it 100% and should always be ready to fly the aircraft. Not long ago I was discussing some flght director issue with Frank (one of our advisors). He said that the moment he does not trust what he sees he switches everything off and start to earn his money. Then he will activate one system at a time and sees what works. Another pilot whose name shall remain a secret told me of a time they were advised to reset the whole aircraft while over the ocean. That means black screens etc. Engines keep on working but can't be controlled until the FADECs are back up. Now that was kind of extreme but it goes to show that modern aircraft are not nearly as infallible as many simmers tend to believe.
