Zgredd 21
Like before in A320 Extended, I have to set pitch trim -0.1 comparing to value set in MCDU. For example: in MCDU 0.8 and I have to set trim to 0.7 - only then copilot will accept it, reading checklist. Is it ok?

Zgredd 21
I just don't understand it. Should't I set the same pitch trim value as set in MCDU?
Cheyenne Chief Pilot 829
For me it has worked with 0.8. Do you use the numpad or a trim axis? Anyway, a 0.1 difference should not matter at all.

I place mouse cursor over trim wheel in VC and set with mouse scroll wheel. Of corse it's not a big difference, just I'm curious why it always have to be set -0.1, not the same value as in MCDU. Cheyenne Chief Pilot 829
And do you read the scale next to the trim wheel or the figure shown on the lower ECAM - F/CTL page?
Zgredd 21
Yes of corse. I always check it on ECAM.
Zgredd 21
Between -0.1 and +0.8 is a very big difference! No no. Not -0.1 and + 0.8. Look my 1st post. If +0.8 in MCDU then have to set +0.7 to push checklist forward. Always -0.1 difference.
tup61 185
The problem here is NOT a slight difference in trim. The problem is that the checklist stops and won't continue unless you set trim to 0.7 no matter what. Just now I was ahead of the checklist and already set trim to 0.8 (as the MCDU tells me to, it always does btw, it never shows me another setting). I checked 0.8 on the MCDU F/CPL and it was spot on. When the checklist came to this 'trigger' it stopped... until I set pitch trim to 0.7 after which the setting was ackowledged. And then I set it to 0.8 again... So I don't know if the problem is, as the OP says, the trim has to be set 0.1 lower (which isn't a big problem), but the problem is the checklist only seems to accept 0.7. Belive me. Always -0.1.
Cheyenne Chief Pilot 829
Head-scratch time: For me it has always worked with 0.8 - before and after release. EDIT: Tried 0.7 myself but this wasn't accepted by the checklist system.

D192 83
I don't even look at the numeric value to be honest - I always set the trim just below 1.0 and the checklist always accepts it.

THS Setting for takeoff is depends on the CG. e.g CG 23 THS is 1,2UP CG 33 THS is 1DN
Zgredd 21
I didn't change CG. I set fuel 9.0, no cargo, no passengers, in MCDU CG=26 and trim up0.8. I set flaps 1. Trim wheel is set to 0 by default. +0.7 pushes checklist forward.
Kaplan 4
Hi Zgredd! Try with Block 7.8 Flaps 2 THS UP0.6 Flex 55 THR RED/ACC 1990/2500 CG 25.0 Check if it works. Block 7.8 Flaps 1 THS UP1,2 Flex 56 THR RED/ACC 1995/2300 CG 23.
Kaplan 4
@ Kaplan, The only important item in your example is missing...CG Flap setting etc is totally irrelevant concerning trim setting, it's only CG that counts. Sorry mate here you go CG25.
