Webserver mcdu not working

Hi. My Webserver mcdu is not working. The screen of the MCDU is black and I can not press any buttons. Webserver is checked in the configurator.

So, you see an MCDU in your browser? Then the TCP connection is ok and the webserver is working.

How do you start the Airbus connect application? Are you sure that this is the version belonging to the A318/9 and not the one of the Airbus 320?

What browser are you using?

Yes I see the MCDU. But the Display is black. I am sure it is the one for the A319. The first page in my browser before clicking MCDU shows me flight simulator pause. I am using a WLAN extender. Maybe it is connected to the extender?

How do you start the Airbus connect exe? From Windows Start menu or from Windows Explorer?

What browser/device are you using?

Windows Start menu. I use the ipad with safari

When you look at the MCDU within FSX, you see a non-blank screen on the MCDU (so, the plane is not cold&dark)?

When you go to My Documents/Aerosoft/Airbus , you find a file MCDU_dspl.png. Does it show the correct MCDU content while the plane is loaded?

I had the same problem - initially. A few restarts of the *correct* AirbusXConnect seems to cure it. The confusing thing is that the image at the top of the non-MCDU page shows the A320/A321 logo.

It's really quite incredible! One suggestion, though - the central/display part of the background image could be a little darker, as the green text hardly shows up (regardless of the brightness setting). I'm going to tweak mine in Photoshop ;)

Adam.

P.S. What are the chances of coding MCDU2?

I like the idea of MCDU2 as well. Will discuss that.

Ooooooh!!!!

BTW - I amended busbanner.jpg and MCDU_bg.jpg (to adjust/correct the two issues mentioned earlier). Would it be OK for me to place them somewhere for anyone that wants them?

here would be fine.

Thanks, Mathijs. I couldn't work out quite where to put it, so I filed it under "Aerosoft Airbus A318/A319 liveries". I'm hoping it can be moved if it's in the wrong place.

Hi,

I can not find this MCDU_dspl.png. In the Folder of the Extended there is one but not fore the A319/318.

I tried it now also with my android smartphone. The same problem!

Are you sure you enabled the Webserver in the correct configurator? If you do find the file in the extended folder but not in the A318, then most probably the setting for the webserver was not correctly activated (for the A318!). Maybe you accidently enabled it in the A320 configurator?

No. I am 100% sure it was activated. That was my first after installing the bus. And BTW I have the same problem with the extended. Tried it 10 minutes ago. Works only without the wifi repeater. It's from "Fritz"

I have this issue too, I've not managed to get it to work at all since first installing the A319.

At this precise moment :

  • fsx running on win7 64bit, installed in c:\fsx to keep it away from UAC's clammy hands
  • hotpatch 1.01 applied
  • Connect enabled in the configurator, with logging.
  • configurator and Connect both started the hard way by drilling down through the start menu to the Airbus A318-A319 - FSX folder to make sure I was using the right ones
  • plane ready to taxi and MCDU is working with no problems on the plane although not set up for anything
  • when I connect with a browser the first screen looks ok and I can pause / resume the sim from there but just get the blank picture on the MCDU page - same results from a tablet / from the computer fsx is running on.
  • no files called MCDU_dspl.png anywhere in [my documents]\aerosoft
  • Connect log file being updated every 10 seconds with

The Windows system error code 0x5 means "access denied", which indicates a permission problem. Have you tried starting both FSX and Airbus Connect as Administrator?

No but I just did, and after some fiddling it worked !

In a nutshell, I ran FSX and Connect both as admin (no change) then I exited FSX with Connect still running at which point the missing MCDU_Dspl.png file appeared in the \Aerosoft folder.

Then I closed Connect and ran them both as admin again and got a slightly different but still static picture of the MCDU on the webserver

Then I restarted Connect (as admin) and it just works and OMG this is cool ! :)

Thank you !

same for me. Had to restart the connect tool and than it works. Thank you so fare.

BTW, any change to make the black background of the MCDU display on ipad a liitle bit darker? it's more grey than dark and the green is difficult to read I guess

I made a couple of home-made tweaks (see a few posts back): http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/files/file/2859-airbusx-a318a319-webserver-image-tweaks/
