Yellow line

I don't understand why this ugly yellow line at the border of the MCDU is still appearing as it was already in the Airbus Extended X.

The line seems to be the right side of the yellow rectangle appearing at this position when having to enter something, for example on INIT page below "FROM/TO".

That's actually a very good question and to be honest we don't really know where it comes from. It's not a major issue though (in fact you are maybe the 3rd or 4th customer noticing this since the Airbus X Extended release!), so we don't give it a high priority.

I suppose it comes from the generation of the rectangle for this position. As it is so visible I'm sure I'm not the 3rd or 4th customer noticing it. The other customers simply don't complain about it because for them it is not such a problem.

You're probably right. I have that too, but indeed, it's no biggie.

I think almost everyone noticed but felt so unecessary to report it :P I noticed it right away when the AXE was released

Interesting fact: when I undock the LeftMCDU window (without changing the window size) the type font inside the MCDU is OK, as soon as I use another menue F-PLN, PROG etc. the effect as shown above, appears!

It looks like a dragged the window a bit wider than you did.

I found the solution, and your hint (see above) was the key:

I am using a 4:3 Monitor and when undocking the LeftMCDU the window x/y relation was obviously not as it should be.

Widening the window a little bit, made the trick!

Thanks Mathijs

Good to know. But the original problem is still not solved.

Timeframe for the fix is unknown as we do not really know what causes the problem. It is on our list for sure...

Good to know the fix is on the list! It's no big deal, but it seems to be harder to fix than other bugs. Even on the step-by-step pdf the "yellow line" is present in the pictures(pgs 52 and 64 for example). It seems like the MCDU program doesn't clear the whole screen area when switching between screen modes and leaves a few pixels on the right side characters still showing. It also sometimes happens with other colored characters like the small green line by the BARO settings on pgs. 52 and 73 of the step-by-step guide.

I can't tell if it is hard to fix, but it most definitely don't have had and still don't have a high priority. I remember this yellow line also from the AXE and also one or two threads from last year complaining about it with the same answer: more or less no priority.

IMHO as long as there are still people out there with really severe FPS issues they should be served first with a solution.

I presented a theory on this in another topic, but my theory is that rather than completely unloading the old page, the software simply pushes it one page width to the right as measured by pixels. But because the dev's resolution might not be the same as ours, a little rounding error produces the observed yellow/green/orange/white lines.
